Among the dregs of vampire society, there’s no safety in numbers.

It’s been a year since the vampires of Maelstrom threw Aviva to the wolves. When her next assignment arrives, it’s clear that her elders haven’t forgiven her past sins. She’s to take a position watching over the clan’s weakest members: the old vampires who can’t be trusted to keep the supernatural world’s secrets. Locked away in a crumbling home by the ocean, they exist in isolation, nearly forgotten by the world. It’s a boring job, an assignment more insulting than her placement with the werewolves, and a terrifying warning of where she could end up if she doesn’t change her ways.

Aviva is determined to keep her head down, prove herself, and atone for her mistakes. But when a group of vampire hunters calling themselves the Blood Defenders attacks the home, Aviva has no choice but to step into her role as guardian and hit the road with a group of misfit vampires who are as much a danger to the world as they are to themselves.

When the Blood Defenders shatter the heart of Maelstrom’s power and leave them with nowhere to run, Aviva and her band of monsters have no choice but to stand and fight to save a world that despises them.

I am really enjoying Tanith Frost's Immortal Soulless books, and this one may be the best yet! There is much more adventure and action in this one, while still delving deeper into Aviva's character. I look forward to seeing where the series goes next!

To see more reviews, considering taking a peek at my first in series YA book blog here

Let's talk.

Book 3 was everything I wanted AND needed it to be.

I needed Aviva to grow into herself after the events in book 2 and oh she does. Shame hath thy name...and it is NOT Aviva. Aviva and Daniel talk and come to terms with what they feel. Each of them figures out what they willingly would or would not do to stay in the other's life. It's heartbreaking and so precious at the same time because you can't help but be proud of people to look through the fog of lust and love and see what lays yonder on the other side.

The oldies in this book add pizazz that this story needed. New, refreshing characters who don't live within the terms Malestorm has set for vampires, and as such- they are outcasts. Make no mistake though, outcast doesn't mean weak. Outcast doesn't mean useless and these guys prove it. Aviva fits with them like a glove in hand yet somehow they are silk-breathable and moldable. Aviva is leather- tough and unyielding to the system.

(Is the Gif too much??? Oh well)

Overall, a fantastic read that ties up some much needed decisions and thoughts on both Aviva and Daniel's end, but also smoothly leads off to Aviva's next adventure. Can't wait!

The only thing I must complain about is Aviva and Daniel's end in every book so far.
Tanith- Stop torturing us with those almost-romance scene/get together scenes dammit.

What an addicting series! Book 3 was as good as the first two books which I absolutely loved. Everything continues to be so well thought out and planned. It is rare for a third book to gain momentum and become even more exciting than the first especially when the first was perfect. This is such a unique version of vampires that my non vampire loving heart is now crazy about them especially Aviva who has become one of my all time favorite characters. She is complex and authentic and continues to grow and change as the story progresses. New characters are introduced in this book that I found fascinating and likable but different than any I’ve read in the past. The wonderful slow burn romance continues to be nice and hot but it doesn’t take away from the story, it adds to it. There is also a nice little twist that really gets the plot moving right from the start. This book, like the prior two, made me feel many different emotions because I cared about all the characters and their well being and futures. I now will be left in agony until the next book comes out. This is such a phenomenal series!

Stellar. At 95%, I actually put it down for 24 hours because I didn't want it to end!! Then I couldn't wait any more. These books are so good that waiting for the next one just may kill me!!!!! Please do yourself a favor and read this!!! Before Ms. Frost came into my world, I would have told you I didn't like vampire books. These are so much more than that. Incredible, complex, engaging characters in a multidimensional world paralleling our own. Plots, conflicts, enough questions to keep you reading the next in the series and enough resolution to satisfy. Wonderful!

This is the best book in the series....so far....
Tanith writes a compelling book that I read in two sittings over a 24 hour period. I couldn’t put it down.
Each book in this series can be read as a stand alone but you get so much more out of them by reading them in sequence.
The supporting characters in this book are so awesome they almost steal the attention away from Aviva and Daniel. Almost....
Tanith Frost is an incredible writer who takes the characters in directions you don’t expect them to go and that makes the read that much better. The action scenes are so compelling you just can’t look away.
I’m excited for book four now.

Atonement (Immortal Soulless Book3)

This was another outstanding book. This. Whole series has really been filled with everything you could want in a good read. The action just keeps getting better with a lot of intrigue, keeping you on pins and needles.
I highly recommend this book to all supernatural book lovers.

Really getting into this series now!

It has taken me a bit longer than some other books, but I can finally say that Aviva has won her place in my heart! I think I struggled a little because of how she was struggling to accept herself, but it now feels that she has. The writing was always good, it was the character I had some reservations about.

Atonement

Aviva is my hero though flawed but still questioning. Blind faith is not her way and she does not stagnate but keeps moving firward.

After the werewolves this book is a completely different change of pace. Aviva discovers a family she never knew she had the outsiders and elder her clan her cast aside for not following the continuing changes in society and being that slight bit more odd. Those who could put them at risk of discovery if seen by humans. I loved all of the characters including the quirky Edwin who's idea of the undead is to see how many times he can push being undead to the limit with out the risk of true death.
This book definitely made me smile more than once as your find out every vampire is unique

I've mentioned in previous reviews that this series brings fresh fodder to vampire tales, and Atonement is most definitely no different in that respect.

New facets of both Aviva and reserved Daniel are revealed - especially Daniel, but some hard choices have to be made in their complicated and uncertain world.  Unrest and hidden agendas are present in the upper echelons of Maelstrom, and I'm anxious to see what develops in the next book.

The newest characters of 'old' vampires are a delightful addition, proving you should never underestimate or make assumptions about the older generation, and I hope to see more of them.

I appreciated that this story didn't end on a major cliffhanger, but left enough questions and unresolved situation to carry over into the next book.  Highly recommend this series to paranormal fans.

I received a copy of this book from the author.

Every book in the Immortal Soulless series has been excellent, providing an intriguing story with strong characters. This series just keeps getting even better, as Aviva faces fresh challenges in an increasingly uncertain world. Read these books if you’d enjoy a fresh angle on vampires.
