It’s always good to take a little vacation because detective work could become overwhelming at times. Unfortunately for Black, the Michaels family decided to take a vacation to an Amusement Park. Wendy Michaels is having the time of her life acting like a kid and not a detective for a whole week, but when children goes missing, Black and Wendy must take on the case. With the help of an unexpected source, Black and Wendy learns that the children are taken into an abandoned mine where gold is supposedly housed. Even though the two were supposed to be taking a break, Wendy couldn’t live with herself if she didn’t save the kidnapped children.
Wendy and her pet cat, Black, have a unique relationship. The can talk to one another and they solve mysteries. In this story, Wendy and Black suspect something foul when young children turn up missing at an amusement park. As Wendy and Black investigate, the reader is taken on an adventurous, suspenseful tale. With the combination of these two likable characters and a simple, unique story line, I recommend this story for children who are beginning chapter books. An enjoyable read!
Children's Book: Kidnappings in the Legendary Mine (Wendy and Black Cat Detective 4) -- Amma Lee (7 chapters) June 16, 2019
This is the fourth book in the Wendy and Black series and it's just as fun as ever. Wendy is on vacation with her family and brings Black along for the (not fun!) ride.
While there, they encounter missing children and Wendy and Black race to save them.
I have just found out that the next book in the series will be the last one, and while I feel sad about that, the stories are starting to feel like they are coming to an end.
On an editing note: the typos and grammatical errors are getting cleaned up and don't appear as frequently.
A fast read and enjoyable for all ages. This particular story felt like a very condensed Nancy Drew mystery.
A young girl, her cat, Black and her parents on a vacation at an amusement park when children go missing. The cat is helping the young girl, just finding out she’s a witch, become a detective --- they enjoy looking for missing things. So when children start missing Wendy and Black go hunting them down – --- Black gets to help as he can talk to Wendy and no one else can hear him. The cat's personality is comical - interesting beginning detective story!
