descriptionMy review for this one is going to be rather brief as the book is super short and only took me forty minutes to finish. That said, even being so short it was still a delightful and sweet holiday read. This novella features Michael (who was engaged to Ella the heroine from the THIS IS LIFE series (book one) before she got with Grayson) and Holly (Michael's BFF's little sister). To say Micheal is a little bitter about Ella dumping him would be an understatement. And that was the only thing I wasn't overly crazy about in this one. There was a bit TOO much whining about Ella and how things ended. I would have liked if Micheal had been a little further past the sitting and staring bitterly at his pregnant ex with her new man stage before he got involved with Holly. It was a bit hard to buy into the sudden 180 turn he does in regards to his feelings and Ella.

description

That said, it was meant to be magical and Christmasy and light. The Scrooge with a broken heart learns to forgive and embrace love again. And it had that in spades, so the "ELLA" thing was a minor irritation at the most for me. It was well written and well paced. It was festive. It was sweet. Lightly sexy. No angst or OW/OM drama. Both main characters were very likable, and it was all wrapped up in a sweet little Christmas bow. Not much left to say. I liked it, and it gets two thumbs up from yours truly.description

Michael: A Scrooged Christmas is a really wonderful, sweet and uplifting Christmas romance. I really love Ms. Adams books, she never ceases to draw me into her stories and captivate me from start to finish. Even though this is a very short, easy read- the story wasn’t lacking on content. I am amazed at how much Ms. Adams packed into such a short space.
Michael Barnes is the medical adviser for the United States Army, he has recently returned from serving overseas. His life revolves around his successful career as he doesn’t have much of a social life. Michael is still stinging from the painful breakup with his fiancé a year earlier and has no interest in dating. There is an internal block whenever he tries to move on with his life, something is holding him back and he feels a little stuck. Because of his experience and the heartache it brought, Michael has built a barrier around his heart and lost his joy for life. With Christmas fast approaching, Michael is dreading all the festivities that come with the holiday season. He can’t wait to get Christmas over and done with- his has embraced his inner Scrooge and lost his holiday spirit. His life seems set in stone, until he is literally bowled over by a blast from the past.
Holly Edwards is a pocket size pixie of a woman, but with a huge spirit. Her joy-de-vie is contagious and she embraces life fully, not wanting to miss a thing. She should come with a warning label though, because she is the most accident prone, mega klutz that you could ever meet. When she has another klutzy moment, she finds herself sprawled on the floor, tangled up with her childhood crush. She hasn’t see Michael since he left for college, and now seeing him again after all this time brings all her old feelings rushing to the surface again.
Will this unexpected reunion open up the possibilities for the future and encourage Michael to move forward in his life, or will he choose to remain stuck in the past? Will Holly’s love of life and everything Christmas rekindle Michaels Christmas spirit and vanquish his inner Scrooge?
I loved this charming story. The quotes at the beginning of each chapter were a great addition to the story and helped set the mood.
This is a very enjoyable and light-hearted read and I am looking forward to more from Ms. Adams.

Thank you, Ms. Adams!

While the novel is well written I could not help but feel that it is not really a standalone. To me it felt like there was more I should know about the characters. I can only assume that they where once at least secondary characters in another novel.

So to me they did not feel deep enough to be the leads in a christmas featured novel. But this is only my very personal oppinion and it might be totally different to other readers as the effect can be completely different if you already know the characters.

But in any way this will not keep me away from trying another novel by this author if the blurb appeals to me :-)

Michael: A Scrooged Christmas by FG Adams is a story about Christmas spirit. I enjoy Christmas stories that warm the heart and are full of Christmas spirit and that is exactly what this author has done for me. Their writing style is shown clearly through the through details that make you feel like you a right there in the story. This story pulled me in from the beginning and kept me engaged until the last page. It is a short story about a man who just needs to find his Christmas spirit again and a woman who is determined to help him find it. What they find in between is more then what they were expecting but their story is heart warming and I found it pulling at my heart strings. Holly is a kindergarten teacher and Michael is an Army doctor with a broken heart. One day they physically run into each other and their lives change after that. I loved these characters and their story. I highly recommend this story as I know you will want to find out if Michael ever finds his Christmas spirit and and if there is a happy ending to their story.

Michael: A scrooges Christmas by FG Adams a festive five-star read. This is a stand-alone read but if you have read the This is life series you may know a couple of the characters mentioned. This is a super quick and super sweet read, and you will adore the story. Dr Michael Barnes wants to put Christmas back in the box, he isn’t I the mood to be festive. Step in his best friend’s sister and we all know they shouldn’t be touched with someone else’s. But Holly Mary Edwards has other plans, and she is a Christmas baby and she loves the festive spirit. I adored Holly as she reminds me of me, as I write this I have a mild concussion from falling over my own feet!! All she wants to do is bring the holiday spirit back to Michael. But what they end up with is a battle and more.
This is a sweet story that will fill you with the holiday spirit.

5 stars for this wonderful, quick Christmas tale.

Holly was born on Christmas day and has always liked her older brother's friend. Michael is an army doc who has bitterness towards the holiday season.

This is the perfect mix of holiday magic, past and present colliding, and happiness. Each chapter is headed with a quote from the characters that I just loved.

Here are 2 of my favorites:

"Christmastime is when hope lost renews, beginnings foster, and surprises are in abundance."

"There are three stages in a man's life: He believes in Santa Clause, he doesn't believe in Santa Claus, he is Santa Claus."

I absolutely recommend this short story no matter what season it is.

Anyone that knows me knows that I’m a sucker for a good holiday romance. This was my first time reading anything by this author and I enjoyed the story and message as well. Michael has been burnt by his ex fiancé and has sworn off love and happiness going forward. As someone who has been burnt in the past I get where he is coming from but there also comes a time when you have to move forward and allow yourself to heal. And that’s where Holly comes into play. Holly was the epitome of holiday cheer and showed Michael it was okay to confront your past, move on, heal and have a future. If you are looking for a cute, quick holiday story with good old holiday cheer look no further!

I always wondered what happened to Michael after he split with Ella because on paper he is awesome and deserved the best. Shame Ella's heart was given long time ago to someone else. So when I had the chance to read this story I was greedy. To say that I was double excited because the story happens around Christmas will be an understatement. Holly comes at the right time in his life and with her spirited attitude changes his world upside down. I loved her for this and I loved him even more that he opened to her and learned to give and receive love again.
A short but lovely story about fate, love and Christmas miracles!!!

Michael: A Scrooged Christmas by F G Adams is a lovely story revolving around the joy and magic of the Christmas spirit and that if you truly believe miracles can happen.

Michael is a scrooge when it comes to the Christmas spirit but will this year be different and will he be able to open his heart again. As Michael returns back to his home town he discovers one day when he is in the park and old lady who sits next to him and tells him to take a chance on love. Michael scoffs at this and when he is trying to by a secret Santa gift he literally bumps into an old friend.

Holly has always had a soft spot for a certain doctor who was her brother's best friend, although over the years her heart has yearned to help him out of the slump he found himself in when his fiancee decided she was in love with another man, nothing has driven her more than a conversation she has with an old lady who tells her to follow her heart and pursue what she deserves.

So as she is shopping in the local mall she falls head over heels literally into her one true love, Michael. As the story goes on you see how Holly slowly melts the ice heart within Michael and gets him to enjoy Christmas and its traditions and gets him to find love and peace in life again. Michael wonders how this little pixie crashed into the barricade he carefully erected over the years.

I love these authors, I always find it fascinating that the story is so stemless when there are two collaborators. This is a lovely story of Christmas magic and spirit and I love the character of Holly, her goodness shines of the page and as such an innocent person in contrast of Michael's wounded character was brilliant. I loved that the characters of Ella and Grayson where weaved into the story as well was a great wrap up of there story too. I recommend this book and the other books from these authors.

Michael: A Scrooged Christmas was a solid four star read. F. G. Adams brings us this Christmas tale.
Ms. Adams writes a solid story of Christmas cheer and how her character retrieves it. Full of the magical spirit of Christmas, both of her characters are in need of Christmas Cheer. The big question is, will they find it? Will they find their holiday spirit with each other?
I really liked this story. Ms. Adams writes fully developed characters with consistency. The only minor problem I had with this book was that the characters do a lot of “thinking”. I would have liked just a little more description and just a bit more communication between the two characters, or perhaps another character could have been introduced so that the characters would have a “friend” to talk to about what they were feeling.
I did, however, really love all the Christmas activities Holly planned in order to get Michael back into the Christmas Spirit. And I loved Holly’s spirit. She really has a “Can Do” approach to her life and that spills over into Michael's life nicely. I loved her foibles as well. She really stood out.
Michael’s angst is really well portrayed. He makes a great foil for Holly’s spirit. You can see him grow and begin to change.
Ms. Adams has written a very good Christmas Story. Hopefully, there are more coming!!

a brilliant read about recovering from the past and moving on. Army doctor Michael Barnes has sunk into depression after his fiancee chose another man. On e day whilst shoppibg, an old friend named Holly bumps into him as she falls over. He walks her home and discovers chemistry between them. Struggling with his intense despression, he triee to move on with Holly. Can he put the psst behind him for long enough to live in the present?
A brilliant read. Well developed plot. Well developed characters. The depiction of Michaels depression of sadness that consumes him at any moment was brilliantly written and deeply emotive to perfection. Hollys exuberance to help him feel better was sweet and complimented his character perfectly. Her clumsiness was also hilarious. I also loved the scene with the stars and Holly helping Michael to believe in hismelf again which was beautifullh written. Alos the small details like the snowglobes and his blue eyes and the costumex were excellently written. The Christmas feel enabled the sense thatit wojld take a miracle for Michael to recover. The theme of living life in the oresent was touchjng. Overall, a beautifully moving read I couldnt put down and I would give it five stars.

Michael: A Scrooged Christmas is a novella part of the This is Our Life series by F.G. Adams. This is my fifth novel by this author.

Michael Barnes is back from duty and not looking forward to the holidays. Not since his fiancee left him for Grayson Blackwood. While he is happy for her, he knows he won't get over her and everything reminds him of the life they were suppose to have together.

Holly Mary Edwards is a kindergarten teacher who runs into Michael by falling on him. Holly has always has feeling for Michael by kept them to herself. With the holiday season coming is it possible that Holly can change Michael heart and help him heal?

It had been such a long time since I read the first book that while the names looked familiar, I couldn't completely remember everyone’s background but the story filled in the blanks for me.

I really enjoyed this. It nice for the guy that was left to find happiness and love with someone else. The person he was probably meant to be with all along.

Holly was such a funny character.

“You know, I didn’t fall. Just thought the floor could use a little hug. I’m freaking awesome, by the way.”

This is nice holiday in between novel.

Michael: A Scrooge’s Christmas by F.G. Adams was a great short story. If you have read some of the previous books, you may recognize a few characters in this book.

Michael Barnes is in the army and has recently had his heart ripped out by his fiancé. She ended up leaving him for someone else and since then he has been miserable. He once loved the Christmas holiday but now, he cannot wait for it to me over.

He stumbles ( literally ) upon Holly who is the klutzy little sister of his best friend. Holly and Michael haven’t seen eachother in years but Holly never forgot her feelings for him. Now face to face, her feelings come rushing back.
When she realizes what a Scrooge Michael has turned into, she takes it upon herself to get him to see the joy of Christmastime. Will she accomplish a Christmas Miracle or is all hope lost for Michael.

I have loved all books Ive read by F.G. Adams and still do. Another great addition to read. You will love getting to experience Christmastime with Holly and Michael.

Michael: A Scrooged Christmas by F.G. Adams

5 Stars

”It's true what's said about learning from the past to live in the present, in order to have a great future”

This was a quick fun read. I like to bookmark favorites throughout the book and the problem I'm having is that I would be copy and pasting just about the whole book, there was so much about this book I loved. Although a very short read it didn't feel short, I felt like everything I needed was there. I fell in love with Holly and Michael. I love stories where they knew each other before they grew up and then see each other after they have grown up. I love that Holly was Michael's best friends klutzy sister, these kinds of stories are always fun.

The messages throughout the book were spot on and the struggles Michael was going through with his bad breakup was heartbreaking but Holly was a breath of fresh air and I loved her character.

I've read many of this authors books, they are a favorite of mine and I loved that I have a Christmas book to add to my collection.

Michael: A Scrooged Christmas is a short holiday romance written in a dual point of view about Michael Barnes and Holly Edwards. Michael has become a bit of a scrooge after having lost at love. He has no holiday spirit and is just generally cranky. He is literally knocked off of his feet by Holly, who is a blast from his past.

The characters in this book are introduced in an excellent way and we get a good idea of what Michael has gone through to get him to his current attitude. Michael has to do a quick re-evaluation of what he thought he wanted for his life with help from Holly, who is determined to bring Michael out of his slump. Holly is an exuberant yet clumsy and delightful person, Michael’s bah humbug attitude can’t hold up to her determination. Their passion for each other is also ignited and their relationship quickly evolves.

This is an enjoyable, well-written book that is sure to delight the reader. It can give a person faith in the Christmas spirit and is pretty uplifting.

This book is Magical, Spirit Lifting and reminds you about the True Meaning of Christmas Miracles

Dreams and wishes really can come
True if you stay true to your heart and just believe...
Michael lost his way in life years ago when he lost what he thought was the love of his life, his Fiancé Ella. He despised Christmas and all that was joyous until someone he knew during his childhood literary Bumps into him.... Holly.

Holly is a clumsy, awkward girl with a heart of gold. Her love of life and especially the Christmas season shines pure and her sights are set on Michael, her true love since she was 8 years old and she is determined to rid Michael of his Scrooge feelings and help him rediscover the love of not only Christmas but the love of really Living.

This was such a beautiful novel to read, helping to remind us what is truly special in life and to appreciate every Day. Holly’s love of life mixed with her Mega Klutz ability’s made this an awesome read!!

This book was cute and sweet and I liked it, but there was a lot missing for me.

I loved that Holly came into Michael's life again when he seemed to need her most. He struggled with a past that held him tight in its grip and she was a beacon to bring him back to the present and give him a future to look forward to.

I felt like the references to Ella and what she did weren't enough. I understand there's a full novel for her, but the lack of info left me frustrated since she played such major role in Michael's outlook in this story. I also felt like there wasn't truly enough resistance or strife in the book, considering Michael hated Christmas. I didn't feel that emotional connection with him. There was never really any excitement, things just sort of happened.

Overall, this wasnt my favorite from this duo and while i felt it could have been better, I liked it and would read more from them.

Title:Michael: A Scrooged Christmas
Author:F.G. Adams

Michael was a great 5 star read.
If you read the “This is Our Life” series you will recognize Michael from book one.

Holly is a kindergarten teacher and when she literally runs into Michael her brothers best friend, her feelings from her childhood crush come rushing back.

Michael is surprised to see Holly, she has become such a beautiful woman and still has her clumsiness. Michael is still bitter about his break up but meeting Holly helps him see things in a different light. There is something refreshing about her and she was determined to make his Christmas better.

Although you could tell Michael was struggling with the break up it was great to see his relationship with Holly grow. This was a fun holiday read that will enlighten and bring joy to your heart. I really enjoyed both Holly and Michael and I wouldn’t mind reading more from them. Thank you F.G. Adams for a great Christmas read.

Michael: A Scrooged Christmas by F.G. Adams is a story about losing your Christmas spirit and how finding the right person can make you remember just how special the holidays are. Micheal is a man who had been hurt in the past and that hurt had turned him into an absolute Grinch, but his meeting of Holly could change that forever. The only snag is that Holly is his best friend’s sister, so trouble could ensue if they act on their feelings. I thought this was a great twist on the usual Christmas story, adding different layers to the holiday love story and making it a great quick weekend read. I enjoyed the dynamic between Michael and Holly, and even the grinchiness of Michael in the beginning really drew me in. This is not my first book of F.G. Adams, and it will most certainly not be my last. I have loved just about everything of hers that I have read and this is another one. If you are looking for a different take on a Christmas romance novel than this is the book for you.

Michael: A Scrooged Christmas by F.G. Adams is a sweet story about learning how to let go and move on in life and finding that holiday spirit. Michael hasn’t felt much for the Holiday’s since his fiancé chose another man over him, but a childhood friend crashes back into his life and wants to change all of that. Holly loves Christmas and she can’t stand see Michael being a Scrooge for Christmas. When these two crash into each other the sparks fly. Even as a shorter read it’s a well thought out and written book. With characters that are realistic and loveable. Holly’s love for Christmas is my favorite thing in this book, she is so well written that you can’t help but feel her joy coming off the pages. I recommend this story to anyone looking for a Christmas romance that’s a light and easy read. It also how a bit of steamy romance which just add another layer to an already amazing short story. I give this one five stars and can’t wait to read more by this author.

Holly and Michael are friends from long ago. Michael had always been in her life being her brother's best friend . The Christmas season is upon them and they literally bump into each other. Holly as always admired and crushed on him from afar but cannot believe what a Scrooge he has become . She knows that he is a victim of his life circumstances but she is will to show him the spirit of the holidays through her eyes and adventures! Michael has lost what he thought was his true love to another and that has left him scorned and shall we say a bit bitter. Running into Holly was a surprise !
The sweet, klutzy beautiful woman is still a fireball and very opinionated but he finds her spirit captivating. Her outlook on life is contagious and he can't help but see her in a new light!
What a beautiful chance for one time friends to become so much more and learn more about themselves along the way!
Loved their story !

4 out of 5 stars
Michael: A Scrooged Christmas by F.G. Adams was an amazing, sweet Christmas story. I have read a few of F.G. Adams books and she never disappoints when it comes to a story line and characters! I started reading this book and found myself hooked from page one. Michael is a doctor in the army, and he has about had it with the holiday season after his Fiancé leaves him for another man. Well who wouldn’t want to ward off ever falling in love and being happy again after that? While he is trying to figure out things inside of him he runs into Holly. Holly is determined to make Michael see the joy in Christmas again and change his attitude. But what happens when they find more between them? Can Holly help Michael change his heart for the season? This story brings out true Christmas spirit and it was an amazing read for Christmas time! I highly recommend you read this short read by such a great author!

Michael is in the army and has recently had his heart ripped in two when his fiance leaves him for another man and since that moment he's been down and depressed. The one time off year he loves is the festive season but since his heartbreak he just wants it to be over and done with. One day a old friend Holly bumps into him and falls who he then walks home and soon realise the chemistry and connection between them. Michael who is suffering with depression tries to move on with her but will he be able to put his past behind him or will he let it overcome him and walk away from the best thing that could of happened to him since his fiance left? Wow i have read quite afew novels from F.G.Adams and not once have i been left disappointed they always pull me in and keep me hooked throughout. Even though this story was short it still packed a punch and was truly beautifully written with a amazing plot! Highly recommend! Happy reading 😊

Unfortunately, MICHAEL: A SCROOGED CHRISTMAS was a DNF for me at the 18% mark.  I usually try to last a little longer than that, but I just couldn't continue on when a flashback scene appeared out of nowhere and had no connection to the scene I was reading.  At least, I think it was a flashback scene.  I honestly can't be certain.  It appeared so randomly and without notice that I thought I'd missed an entire page, so I went back two pages and re-read everything, but the result was still the same: great confusion about what I was reading.  So I made the decision to stop reading and move on to another book.  I researched the author's work and found out that the two people Michael was angry at⏤Grayson and Ella⏤had their own story already, and I wonder if the flashback would have made more sense if I had read that other book first.

I love a holiday read and was looking forward to this one after reading the blurb.... unfortunately, while it was well written enough, it just didn’t grab me like I’d hoped.

The story was just too sweet, Holly was just too klutzy, at first I didn’t really like Michael - yeah, things had gone way wrong in his relationship with his ex but gods, he bugged me with his negativity!
When our couple finally got down to doing the dirty the whole experience was just too wordy and descriptive for me.... I just wasn’t feeling the connection and desire I suppose.

I did like the ‘magical’ element to the read and can totally get on board with that!!

So, overall this book wasn’t for me but it doesn’t put me off giving another story by Fran & Greta (aka F.G. Adams) a go.

My rating, 3*

A perfect holiday story about a Mr. Grinch and a special woman that can turn his bah humbug attitude upside down and make him really enjoy the holidays. I really love a good Christmas story. And this one had me all sorts of excited! The characters are wonderful and well put together and the plot really piques the interest. Its sexy, its fun, it brings cheer and heart to the story and made me smile.

Even though this is a short read, I found myself captivated by the story and enchanted. Its fun and sweet, and wonderfully sexy. It will definitely warm you up from the inside out. It makes me want to decorate full blast and make me think of warm thoughts and twinkling lights and sexy times! I LOVED it!

Michael: A Scrooged Christmas
By F.G. Adams
5/5 Stars

Michael: A Scrooged Christmas by F.G. Adams is a sweet and endearing novella , you’ll just fall in love with!
I don’t know what it is exactly, about Christmas stories. But I love them so much! They get me into the Christmas spirit. And I must admit, I’m a bit bah humbug this year.
I have read many books by the Adams girls… I have loved each and every single one of them. This one, is no different!!
Michael has sworn off love and relationships, since his last one ended him with a broken heart. He is dreading the holiday season, especially more so now. Until Holly changes his view on life and love.
You gotta read this short little love story, you’ll enjoy it just as much as I did!! Great job, ladies!! Until next time, I can’t wait to see what characters you’ll be writing about next.

Dr and Lt Col Michael Barnes was dumped by his girlfriend Ella over the Christmas holiday. What’s worse, she’s gone to her old love, his Captain and friend Greyson Blackwood, and now they are married and expecting. So Michael has turned into Scrooge and vows to never love again.
Enter Holly Mary Edwards, who literally crashes into him. A blast from his past, Holly is a clutz who is not only a Christmas fan, but has had a crush on Michael from way back. Holly sets out to bring back Christmas cheer to Michael while trying to get him over his bah-humbug past with his ex and move on, with her.
This is a cutesy story that was a short, enjoyable read. Holly was a bit over the top at times, while her klutziness is cute on occasion, sometimes it reads like a Jerry Lewis prat fall. And maybe a little less on the actual Christmas elf.
