The Problem With Miracles

Rate this book
What does the most eligible bachelor in a small town in the 1920’s, an astrophysicist that taught at Cornell in the 60’s, and Pat Walker, a hopeless romantic senior in high school in 1977 all have in common?
Absolutely nothing and unbelievably everything.

The Problem With Miracles by S.K. Jansky is both a contemporary and historical Christian novel that is a compelling read from the start.
The novel concerns priorities - love and money. What motivates you? For some, life is motivated by making money, believing that even happiness can be bought. For others, people matter far more than money and status. Love makes the world go round. To love and to be loved is priceless. Love puts others first.
Family is important. There are different types of family. Some families are dysfunctional. Others are consumed by love. The bond of love tugs across the miles. Warped family memories can also consume and motivate.
No one lives in grand isolation. Our lives all interconnect, even down the years.
There is a menacing voice. It chills the reader and had me asking questions. Whose voice was it? And what is it stalking? And why?
I enjoyed The Problem With Miracles. It was a well thought out and cleverly constructed story. A comprehensive read.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

One of the best books I have read. I finished this book in 3 days! I love to read but sometimes I lose interest fast. It may take me weeks if not longer to finish. Not this one! I found myself looking for any excuse to read the next chapter! This book will not disappoint!!

Not your typical happy ending!! This is a love story within a love story. Great characters, great love story, with some suspense and mystery thrown in to keep you guessing. There is also a nice little twist at the end! If you like the upstairs/downstairs, Downton Abby type storylines about the aristocratic family and their servants you will like this book!

This was a really good read! I was sucked into the storyline of James and Mary and loved the upstairs/downstairs theme that came with it. Good character development and a strong plot line that carries it through. It doesn’t have your typical happy ending which left me wanting to know more about what happened to the characters.

The author clearly has a gift with words, the prose is wonderfully descriptive and the characters come to life in a different place and time. The story engaged me, with lots of intricate plot twists, but I felt a little put off when it would revert back to the first person, it disrupted the flow of the story. I guess it made sense in the end. All in all, very good read!
