Kiln Mason is Chief Personal Protection Officer for the world-famous Phoenix Rising Rock Band. Having two months of down time, he gives in to the inner demons plaguing him and decides to seek revenge on the band’s lead singer. After attending a meeting to plan his attack, Kiln meets Raine, a girl down on her luck and living on the streets. Raine comes with more baggage than airline luggage compartments. When he walks away from her the night they meet, he believes he’ll never see her again. However, Raine needs money to save her brother’s life. For her, Kiln is the answer to her prayers and sets out to find Kiln. She does, and convinces him to give her the money for her brother’s safe return. However, when she goes to deliver the cash, all they find are pools of blood. Despite Kiln’s belief that all women are deceptive, he is, nevertheless, pulled into Raine’s intrigue, while still planning Sloane Mason’s death. As Raine searches for her brother’s body and Kiln wrestles with his conscience, he knows he has to tread carefully. He asked the Death Dwellers MC for the hitman to do his dirty work. He merely neglected to mention one of their friends is the target. The death of Raine’s brother devastates her. He was her protector and partner in crime. Kiln once again offers to help her, but she has to agree to become his mistress until he leaves town. He doesn’t do relationships. She doesn’t think she’s destined for one. Their strong opinions are a source of constant conflict. Will Kiln carry out his murder plot or will the motorcycle club discover his intentions and retaliate? Can Raine trust him enough to let her guard down? Where will their separate agendas lead them? Down different roads or to a future with everlasting love and happiness?
I am slowly but surely learning to manage my time more effectively and getting back to writing and connecting with everyone. I'm not completely there yet, but it is slowly coming together. Misled and Misappropriate have been updated with additional chapters and POVs from a couple more characters. Both books have about 30,000 more words and new covers. I have new covers for all the books in the series. Recently Misled placed first in the Mystery, Suspense, and Thriller category on Chick Lit Cafe. The paperback will also be included in an upcoming Reveal Book Box. While working on Reckless, I am also updating the text in the original series. About Reckless - It will be filled with death and destruction, as usual. However, I will admit to being slightly shocked myself at some of the turn of events taking place. I have restarted my newsletter with a new name, KatChats. Until the end of the year, I plan to send it out weekly because of all the news I have to share. After that, I will switch to monthly. I also have a new website. It should be online in a couple of days once the domain transfer completes. I also have a website dedicated to the Death Dwellers. It is still in its early stages, but it is live: https://deathdwellersmc.com. Meanwhile, if you have any questions, please send them my way.
Kathryn C. Kelly is a New Orleans native who has called southeast Texas home since 2005. She had intended to travel the world but always return to her beloved New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina had other plans. She is the mother of three beautiful daughters and the daughter of one gorgeous mother whose footsteps she followed in by becoming a writer. Kathryn is the former owner and editor of Inside Rose Rich Magazine. She and her mother have been published by Jove Books as Christine Holden. The books have long been out of print but they got the rights back to the five novels and have plans to re-release them soon. Kathryn is a cancer survivor. In 2010, she felt a small lump in her breast. In 2015, at the urging of her mother, she went in for her bi-yearly mammogram and was diagnosed with Stage 2b/3a HER2 positive breast cancer. On November 30, 2016, she rang the bell. During her treatment, she was also diagnosed with Li-Fraumeni Syndrome. In 2013, Christopher "Outlaw" Caldwell introduced himself to Kat in the most cliché way ever. He came to her in a dream. After the inauspicious meeting, he planted himself in her mind and the motherf...the gentleman hasn't left yet. In what was only supposed to be one book about the fictitious Death Dwellers MC, Outlaw has become a source of amusement, a well of frustration, and a bone of contention between Kat and one of her daughters. She is hard at work on Reckless, the book that will bridge the OGs with a new generation of Death Dwellers. Her work has been included in several anthologies and she is looking forward to other upcoming single title releases, including Savage Suit from the Cocky Hero Club World created by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. She is a former RWA member. She also served as Vice President for the SOLA chapter of RWA. She is a New Orleans Saints fan, but roots for the Texans, the Rockets, and the Coogs (U of H) as long as they aren't playing any Louisiana teams. She loves champagne and sparkling wine. One day, she will try Snoop's brand. She still loves Chivas Regal but had a chance to taste Sassenach Scotch. A #lifegoal is to one day buy herself an entire bottle and keep it all for herself. In her head, she is a biker babe with a Harley in her garage, waiting for her to hit the road. In reality, she has yet to hop on a bike and ride. She loves Cards Against Humanity, has very strong opinions that she keeps to herself, has to take her time to talk in public so nothing untoward pops out, and always strives to see the best in people and in life.
O.M.G.! Tread cautiously with this book... because I threatened my ereader with destruction many, many times. Not because the writing wasn't good. Kathryn Kelly is one of the few authors that can make you hate a character this much and still keep reading. WOW...this guy ranks right up there with, gasp...Kendal! And don't expect it to smooth over anytime soon. At 90% I was still spewing expletives like crazy! But what a ride. I absolutely refuse to go into spoiler territory and y'all have already read the blurb...SO JUST READ THE BOOK! Look for a few of your favorite characters to show up. ;) It has some formatting issues that hopefully have been fixed. I was given an ARC for my honest review...now that I've calmed down...!
Kiln has to be the stupidest man on the planet. He is incapable of making an informed decent decision without rehashing all that has gone wrong with his life and who is to blame. Namely not himself but his half brother Sloane Mason.
It was a great read. Kiln isn't a easy character to like but somewhere along the way he grows on you. The characters are interesting and the story line will keep you reading till the last page. Just when you think you have it all figured out here comes the twist. It has a lot of action, drama, heartbreak and characters you'll love to hate. There's never a dull moment in this story. I love this authors books. Rated very good
I loved this book I can't believe kiln really thought that he could kill Sloane without outlaw finding out. Cj was amazing as always grassing his dad up xxx
Kiln is one character I didn't like at all, so I started this book with the hope of finding out if he had any redeeming qualities. There’s only one character I could dislike more, and that’s Raine. No matter how these two made angry, to the point of growling, throwing down my reader, shedding tears; I just couldn’t stop reading. The storyline is undeniably well written, as it puts the reader through an array of emotions. It was a particularly wonderful surprise to get a visit from some old friends who are well known and loved from other Kathryn C Kelly works, and they didn’t disappoint. I read those parts twice, or maybe more. All in all, this is one book that’s full of action and passion. I may just read it again
