Quest Chasers #2

The Screaming Mummy

Rate this book

Chasing answers to a dangerous mystery, in a magical new world, can Eevie and Tommy solve the deadly puzzles and make it out alive?

The Quest Chasers series, which debuted with the fun, fast, and fantastical Deadly Cavern, returns with the equally enthralling The Screaming Mummy. The evil Ranger has a track record of eliminating children, and he again (along with his creepy sidekicks) has Tommy and Eevie in his sights—this time with greater vengeance.

What sets this series apart from the competition is the loving and humor-laced companionship of Tommy, Eevie, and pal Drew. They rely on each other to solve riddles, wield magic, escape danger, and heal from relentless attacks—physically and emotionally.

The author deftly takes us from warm, quiet moments between friends to harrowing adventures, with the emotional roller coaster ride continuing throughout. Just when you think they’re safe, they’re not, and the closing chapters reveal one stunning twist after the other.

Buy The Screaming Mummy and begin an exciting adventure with your child today!

Eevie and Tommy are back in another Fantasy Adventure. Once again, the funny banter back and forth between the friends is a delight and all the modern day references helps to make the story feel relevant to kids nowadays.
In this story they are trying to solve a mystery of clues left behind by Eevie’s grandfather and this is what sets them off onto their current adventure. Although not quite as intricately written as the first book was, it is still a solid story that will leave you wanting the next Quest Chasers book as soon as possible.
I would say that fans of books such as the Spiderwick Chronicles will really enjoy reading this series.

Come on where's book 3?

Well they have gotten back more or less in one piece but the nightmare is just beginning. Attacks at night by the Ranger. Hidden clues from her Grandfather and a code that they need to break. But how? Calling on Drew's help they manage to decipher part of it. Now she has a wand (that has embedded itself into her hand), he has the serpent ring and Drew has the knowledge to break down the clues. A hidden portal in the Ranger's house, werewolves, a mummy in a tree and the Ranger out for blood. Are they captured?
Great action, fast paced, wonderful characters but no book 3!

Great addition to the series. I personally feel a call back to the Spiderwick Chronicles. Anybody who was a fan of that as a kid and new middle grade readers will love this series. The characters are fun and the story has a good amount of humor as well as adventure in it. Love the world and these friends, I can't wait for a new addition to the series!

I loved the first book in this adventure series and the sequel is even better. The story starts from where book 1 ended with Tommy and Evie trying to get to the bottom of the mystery disappearances at the park. Following clues left by Evie's late grandfather, they are again put in danger by returning to the park. Whilst escaping from the Keeper, Tommy and Evie find themselves in a land of magic and mystery and cross paths with a powerful sorcerer hell-bent on making sure they never get home again. Evie and Tommy just don't know who to trust and who is friend or foe.

I can't wait for book 3 to find out what happens to Tommy and Evie. Will they manage to escape from the Keeper and the evil sorcerer? Will they find the answers they seek? I hope it's not too long a wait to find out. A brilliant continuation of the adventure from book 1 - a very satisfying read.

Sometimes I truly believe books written for young adults are just so much better than adult novels. There’s so much freedom with the story as you try to stoke the imagination of your audience.

If you’ve not read The Deadly Cavern yet you should do! it’s fun and fast paced and is very engaging with the reader.

We are back with Tommy & Eevie. They escaped the evil range once but he’s not about to let them get away that easy. Our team grows with the addition of Drew. The three of them need to use all their knowledge to solve the riddles of the past and find a way home.. will they make it out alive this time?

The ending leaves me eagerly awaiting more. The plot is fun, the characters are likable and it’s perfectly written for a young adult who is a fan of fantasy. I dare so it’s perfect for an adult of 33 too :).

Quest Chasers is an intriguing series and I’d love to see how things play out.

In the second book of the Deadly Cavern Quest Chasers the Ranger returns to kidnap Tommy and Eevie, full of revenge that his old haunt was disturbed.
Tommy, Eevie and their friend Drew have to work together to stop him from doing harm. and to return home safely.
A wonderful story for older elementary or older, a touch of mild horror in an adventure fantasy story about three brave friends.
If your child scares easily I would not advise you to give the book to them, but for those who love a touch of scary, this series is ideal.
The characters are role model like in their working together and facing danger attitude but still full of teasing each other. A great combination.

I enjoyed getting to give input on the cover. It is cool getting see that come to fruition. This book was very similar to the first except they introduce magic. You jump right into the danger and the mystery, but you still get no back story on the characters. There are some cute scenes where comical things happen. The book has a cliffhanger and I felt it was too short of a book for something like that. The characters are interesting enough to fill in around the action and make a longer book. Just my opinion...but I have to keep in mind this is a children's book.

Book 2, it helps to read book 1 to understand why the first chapter starts the way it does. This quest becomes personal as it relate to Eevie's grandpa and she, Tommy, and Drew work together to uncover the mystery and solve numerical riddles. However, none of them could foresee just how personal the mystery can get. The writing is very young and suitable for younger readers.

This second book of the Quest Chasers was quite the ride.

The characters are developing more, and the plot is building.

The reason for four stars is that the beginning felt a little slow, and the ending felt a bit fast. Other than that, I loved reading this book again.

Intense! If I was Drew, Eevie, and Tommy’s shoes I wouldn’t know WHO to trust! Everyone seems nice and helpful and then they show their true colors…evil. I don’t know how Eevie and Tommy are going to survive this! I loved it!

Hey there! This is Charlie P! I’m ten years old and I read books to raise money for charity. I want to help moms pick out books that their kids will like! Here is another review by me!

I really enjoyed The Deadly Cavern. It was a mystery and actually quite scary. I was definitely transported into another world reading it. The book is full of riddles and puzzles that the characters had to solve. I would definitely recommend this book.
