I had a rousing good time with the first book in this series and was eager for a new adventure with this pair of intrepid besties as they begin their private eye business. This isn't their first rodeo, but mayhem seems to be their stock in trade and it was fun being along as they work their cases, deal with protective menfolk and take a trip back into Harley's past.

Though this is book two in the Linda & Lynda Detective Agency series, it could be read out of order in a pinch. Personally, I think it's best to go back to the beginning so you don't miss out of the hijinks and hilarity of this fun-loving pair of sleuths from the beginning.

The story opens with Addie and Harley bored to tears as they wait for their first case. They've earned the shiny new PI licenses and have the spiffy new office, but the phone is silent. Worse, Addie is in a sweat to prove herself to Jake, her police detective boyfriend that she's not a one case wonder and that she can take care of herself.

Their first case is one for the ages, but the over the top grand finale has results they never imagined. Addie is left with a broken heart and a strong desire to get out of the city. Poor Harley never wanted to go back to her hometown again, but for Addison's sake, she responds to her drunken dad's plea for help with the stolen jewelry at the retirement home.

A reunion with a mean girl, avoiding Harley's dad and his idea of her would-be fiance, a hunky cowboy to distract Addie from her woes, a dare and challenge for a dangerous rodeo event, cantankerous old women who make lousy witnesses, and more keep Addison and Harley busy in the country. Something fishy is going on and they aim to get to the bottom of it. In the end, maybe the gals can win more than a rodeo prize.

I had a good time with this latest installment. It was fun and quirky and there was heart as the story blended comedy, mystery, and a touch of romance. The friendship factor again was the biggest seller for me. I adore their loyal, quirky, and deep relationship. Seeing them go through boyfriend woes and rookie PI adventures were nice elements. The mystery seemed cut and dry, but that bit of a twist was a nice touch. I am a romantic at heart so I enjoy when its an element in a story, but I have to say that it was actually not a strong factor in the story for me.

The characters serve as the colorful centerpiece. This one split focus between several things for the two main characters. Both are eager to prove themselves as new private investigators, but beyond that are Addison dealing with a broken heart and Harley the encounter with her disappointing past.

Addison comes across as strong, confident and sure, but she is also vulnerable and in need of support and approval from Jake. I felt badly for Addison when Jake called it quits. She is a sweetie at heart and is so vulnerable putting her heart on the line for the first time after all the strike outs with guys after her money or her looks. Jake likes her for her and not anything else. But I couldn't completely hate Jake for what he did. I actually understood what happened there even if Addie gets ruffled when Jake nearly has heart failure as she rush straight at danger and isn't as cautious as she could be (even her best bud cautioned her that her plan wasn't a good idea). The tone of these stories is light and madcap, but my brain did go there with Addison's detecting work on that first case. I'm really thinking that discharging a weapon toward an unarmed perp in his home after playing seductress games just might get the PI in the jail cell right beside her subject and possibly the spanking new PI license revoked (or maybe not, but it was definitely unorthodox and rather lucky to say the least). So yeah, Jake's reaction made some sense to me.

As to the situation of Harley coming home and forced to deal with the demons of her past, this was a nice extra layer to the plot. Getting Harley's backstory by the reunion with her hometown and it's residents was great. I was sad for her growing up with an alcoholic and her struggles loving and loathing at the same time. She worked hard to make something of herself which meant she had to leave all she knew behind and strike out into the unknown where again, she had it rough with the class issues at that elite private school. It made me happier than ever that she has Addison's friendship and Asher's love. Her need to do for herself and be independent make much more sense now.

I think my favorite scenes were the visits to the retirement home. Harley's gran and the other old gals were a hoot. Though maybe that confrontation scene between Addison and Jake ran these a close second.

Overall, this one was fun as it took the ladies to the small country town for some investigation and rodeo. The barrel jumping event was a new one on me, but it sounded pretty exciting. They have a way of getting there in the end no matter what and they do it together. Cozy mystery lovers and those who enjoy light romantic suspense should definitely give this book/series a look-see.

My thanks to the authors for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Do you like banter between friends in your stories? How about a bit of suspense? Hot alphas? Some LOL moments?!?

If any or all of the above sound good to you, you've got to check out this book! I absolutely love Dylan and Addison. They really are opposites, but true to the end friends. In this book, we learn a bit more about Dylan's past while the girls work on solving a "case". Will the girls figure out whats going on? Are Asher and Jake still in their lives or is there one new cowboy on the scene?!? Will someone from Dylan's past shape her future?

Guess you need to give this a read...it will be time well spent.

I can’t thank the authors enough for making my day. What a wonderful way to destress from all of the holiday worries. So many great laughs.

I had a feeling the story would be funny. After all Dial A for Addison was hilarious. Have you read Dial A for Addison? If not, why not??? You should read it—so funny. Throw Dylan from the Train keeps the giggles lowing. Dylan’s grandmother is a hoot. Some of the other residents of Lakeview—not so much.

Writing this review has been challenging. How do I give examples of greatness with out spoiling the story? The characters are amazing. The attention to detail puts you on location witnessing everything. I want to go checkout Lakeview. I need to see if this place is real.

Best of all the story is filled with contradictions that set up many comedic situations. Addison is uber rich. Harley attended the school same private school in Portland on scholarship. Against all odds they became best friends. The girls live and work in Addison’s hometown of Portland. They go to Dylan’s hometown of Lakeview (population 2000+, everyone knows everyone, most are related, the biggest thing of the year is a fair and rodeo) to investigate a string of thefts occurring in her grandmother’s nursing home.

Addison trying to fit in---awkward!!!! Dylan dealing with “the family” she ran from---awkward!!!! Luckily, awkward equals laughs, rolling on the floor laughs, don’t have anything in your mouth shocking laughs, be careful while drinking because you might be spitting laughs.

Find a quiet corner, get comfortable, and get ready to giggle, snicker, and laugh from the beginning to the end. Oh, and to make your reading pleasure even better, mega hugs Jake and Ash show up just in time to complicate things.

A fun and super cute follow up to book 1! Dylan and Asher really make this series for more--I just adore them and this book was everything I wanted for them! I obviously don't want to give anything away, but it was just perfection.

I enjoy Addison and Jake a lot as well, and their relationship is put the test in this story. I liked watching them deal with their problems, and it added another layer to the story. Of course, the friendship between Addison and Dylan was hilarious and on point. Their antics are so entertaining, but I love that they continue to grow as characters.

I really hope that there is more to this series! The ending was fantastic, but I am eagerly hoping that it is not the end!

I absolutely loved this latest installment in the SAFE Detective series!!! Dylan and Addison are traveling to Dylan's hometown to investigate a jewelry theft at the nursing home her grandma is at. We get to learn a bit more about Dylan and her background. Addison and Jake aren't getting along but maybe a cowboy from Dylan's hometown could provide a nice distraction from her current issues. There are twists and turns...surprises at every corner you didn't expect and of course hot steamy times with their men! This story was a nice blend of mystery, romance, suspense, action, and humor. I was hooked from the very first page and hated to see it end. I can't wait for the next book. I would recommend to all. Well done!!!

Best friends Addison and Dylan are at their crime solving best in the second entry of the S.A.F.E. series. This caper finds the duo returning to Dylan's hometown to investigate some nursing home thefts. We get to learn more about Dylan's background as we meet the residents of Lakeview. As if having a crime spree to deal with isn't enough, Addison has caught the eye of a handsome cowboy. Will her boyfriend Jake show up in time to rescue their relationship? Where is Dylan's boyfriend Ash during all of this? With a mix of comedy, romance, and mystery, this book is an absolute delight. I look forward to more from this series!!!!!!

The second book in this series, is just as good as the first. This story is Dylan and Addison returning to Dylan's hometown to solve who is robbing nursing home clients. Old foes, boyfriends and walks down memory lane. Laughter, some tears and danger ensue with these two private detectives involvement. Duo writing team of Piper Davenport and Harley Stone have written another great story. I hope they continue with this series, I know I will be reading if they do.

They have done it again! Throw Dylan From The Train is a phenomenal read. We get a little more background on Dylan in this installment which I enjoyed. All of the side characters are well developed and the humor in this one was as abundant as the suspense. I’m looking forward to future books in this series.

Read only Addison and Jake's part. Dylan didn't interest me at all. She was boring.
Addison was a bit more kickass and take charge character.
I found the whole story to be a bit lame. But I guess its my fault since I don't read such type of books and I am more inclined towards suspense or thriller novels.

Book #2 in S.A.F.E. didn't disappoint. Had to read it a couple of times before I could write anything aboit it. The authors picked up where they left off in Book #1. We got a look at what makes Dylan tick. The chemistry is off the charts for both of our couples.

* I received an ebook in exchange for an honest review. *

Best friends Addison Allen and Harley James are back in their second installment and it doesn't disappoint in any way!! This is book 2, but it can be read as a standalone and still be easily understood. It briefly recaps the events of book 1, but doesn't completely re-tell the story so the reader will not feel like they have already read it. I continue to love the diversity of the author and the way in which she can weave a tale that leaves the reader wanting more!

This story starts off with a flash, the flash of the camera catching a cheating husband and only continues to get better and more exciting from there. Harley gets a call from her dad that brings the girls back to Harley's hometown where they have to help catch a jewel thief. The mystery continues to mount as they find more information than they hope for and that eventually leads them to the thief and a would be killer....the story leaves the reader on the edge of their seat wanting more while at the same time not wanting the story to end because they don't want to leave their friends, and believe me you will consider Addison and Harley your friends by the time you finish this story.

The authors do an amazing job of maintaining the suspense of the story and for not letting the reader figure out what is going to happen next. The ride takes you on a twisting, turning, looping, curving road that is filled with fun, humor, excitement and a bit of drama. You will laugh out loud at several parts throughout the story, so be aware of your surroundings as you read it!

I am already looking forward to book 3 in this series and can't wait to see what kind of adventures await these two next! Do yourself a favor and add this book and book 1 to your TBR list! It's a can't miss, must read!!

I can’t thank the authors enough for making my day. Who needs 4th of July fireworks when I have the two “L”s and the amazing talent of Tracey Jane Jackson and Amanda Washington.
I had a feeling the story would be funny. After all Dial L for Lynda was hilarious. Have you read Dial L for Lynda? If not, why not??? You need to get on it—so funny. I was not disappointed with this story. Throw Linda from the Train was so funny I spit tea on my kindle. I laughed so hard, I got kicked out the family room.

What do you get when you cross two best friends with missing jewelry? A fun and wacky ride that includes rodeos and trains with strong, sexy cowboys and lawyers. Hold your horses and hop aboard for mischief and mayhem. These two authors are great in their own right but together they create a whole new world.

5 out of 5!!!

"Best friends Addison Allen and Harley James are licensed, bonded, and ready to private investigate the heck out of Portland, Oregon. Sure, their first case doesn't go swimmingly, but at least they caught the cheater. However, in doing so, a rift was caused between Addison and her boyfriend, Detective Jake Parker, that might be beyond repair. "

This book is the continuing story of the two best friends and their need to solve crimes. They managed to survive their first case (Book 1 - and you have to read that first to fully understand this book)
This is book is so hilarious and it left me in stitches, like being a private investigator is a serious thing, but these two add another dimension to it. Their antics just make me want to join their awesome team!

This book focuses on Harley's home town, a visit that she wasn't looking forward to...but their sleuthing uncovers something bigger...(not going to say what it is...you will just have to read the book)

What a great continuation of Harley and Addison's story...hope there is more from these two authors . LOVE LOVE LOVE
