Rate this book
While the chemo dripped, Teresa shivered as she replayed the words, “you have cancer.” A wife, mother, and school principal, her life would irrevocably change in ways more damaging than the chemical toxins pumping into her veins. From a prison cell of vulnerability and with humor and poise, Teresa shares her roller coaster ride from hopeless imprisonment through cancer, loss and depression, self-sabotage, and suicide to courageous freedom from her unlived life. Broken to Brave challenges you to perception of time;who surrounds you during change and struggle;extending grace to yourself;your power to choose. If you or a loved one are chained in a prison of an unlived life, Teresa helps you recognize self-destruction warning signs; embrace reality and accept your purpose; acknowledge your strengths with permission to grow; find your keys to start living in the moment without the weight of the past and future.

I was fortunate to purchase an advance copy at a conference I attended recently. This book is a raw, real portryal of Teresa and her family throughout this battle. Teresa trades blows with her invisible opponent many times with one of her most lethal weapons; her sense of humor. There were times when she had me crying with laughter, and other times do to the severity of the ordeal.
Broken to Brave is not just her story; or rather her battle with Cancer. Teresa has also created a framework that she shares about fighting for the life you want; so that you too can feel prepared when your next life match occurs. Regardless of where you may find yourself the first round the last round or somewhere in the middle. Pick up a copy of this book before you step back into the ring and let it's courage be a motivator to take the fight to your opponent and win.

This book is truly one of a kind. Teresa Alesch offers an in-depth view into her battle with breast cancer and depression. She provides a raw, honest look at how breast cancer changed her life. A must-read for anyone who knows someone battling cancer or depression and for all medical professionals.

Teresa grabs you by the heart and reels you in with her very open and raw account of her battle with breast cancer. To call her a survivor is not giving her enough credit. Teresa is a warrior woman who continues to fight the battle, bravely living each day! A myriad of emotions will course through you as you read Teresa's story... shock, heartbreak, empathy, anguish, laughter, etc.
Once I began reading it , I could not put this book down! I was hooked! One of the most inspiring personal stories you will ever read, "Broken to Brave" is a 10!
