First of all thank you to the author for sending me a copy of her book to review, really enjoyed this book for me better than book on,a love story.who can they trust.vampires.demons.ghosts.great read recommend.cant wait for book three.
Michael and Sarah are back in this explosive sequel to The Ghost Chronicles. We pick up where book one leaves off (if you haven’t read book one, go now and read it first). Michael and Sarah are still together romantically and trying to navigate their way in the afterlife. With the Devil still trying to claim his soul, Michael’s still trying to stay one step ahead. Demons and dark beings are closing in on Michael and Sarah, jealous of their untainted souls. But there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak, if Michael and Sarah can get there in time. Will they escape the clutches of Hell or will they be forced to surrender?
I loved this book even more than I loved book one. Marlo Berlinger has a gift connecting with the reader through her characters. History, romance and suspense are beautifully woven through this paranormal story. So well told, she almost had me convinced it was real. Almost.
If you love all things supernatural, you’ll adore this addictive series. A must read and highly recommend!
Favorite Character/Quote: “This was the kind of romantic moment any man, dead or alive, would remember forever.”
My Rating: 5 stars

As with book one, I thoroughly enjoyed this sequal. Marlo really knows how to captivate her readers and keep them wanting more. The love story of Sarah and Michael is one of a unique kind. What a captivating journey to be on. I was moved to pieces with the ending (don't worry, I won't spoil anything). Looking forward to book 3. If you're looking for something mysteriously beautiful to read, I would highly suggest TGC 2.
Welcome back to the Angel of the Sea and the continuing story of Michael and Sarah's journeys in the afterlife. After reading the first "Ghost Chronicles" novel, you want to know how things work out for these loving ghosts. From the sparkle of Cape May diamonds on Sunset Beach, to the smoke and fire at the Cocoanut Grove on that fateful night in 1942, this novel will delve deeper into the roles of ghosts and demons while the main characters explore their powers and positions in the afterlife.
The story moves along quickly with the author's colorful prose that explores the relationship between Michael, Sarah and their extended network of living and deceased friends and family. When the heavens open and souls are touched to ascend up the lighted path, will Michael and Sarah be among them? No spoilers here except to let readers know they will get as caught up in the story as I was!
(This book was received for free in return for an honest review.)
Was a great continuation of the first book. Characters that you could really feel for and want to know. You find yourself very comfortable with them. The book was a pleasure to read and very spell bounding. I can't wait for the next book to find out what adventures our heros face next.
We are proud to announce that THE GHOST CHRONICLES 2 by Marlo Berliner is a B.R.A.G.Medallion Honoree. This tells readers that this book is well worth their time and money!
The premise of The Ghost Chronicles 2, a between-life fiction adventure by Marlo Berliner, is so strong that one knows very well a great story is sure to follow. As explained immediately at the beginning by one between-life soul, Tom (as told to him by our greatest-ever President) delineates for the newly-spirited Michael the 5 roles of after-life souls: Messengers, Navigators, Protectors, Seers, and Warriors. Tom is a protector. His ward’s classification is not yet known. Both are learning what their roles might eventually entail. And this process for maneuvering as a purposeful spirit in a world between the earthly and the presumed-heavenly makes for a most fascinating and adventurous journey, especially when you factor in the demons and other evil-doers. With wonderfully competent writing and a powerfully concise style, Ms. Berliner easily holds her readers enthralled throughout this high-octane, thrilling ride.
Young Adult fiction, as The Ghost Chronicles series is conveniently labelled, is often interest-constrained to that particular demographic. The quality of her writing, however, insures that curious guests to Marlo Berliner’s exquisitely formulated world may easily include many self-indulgent, guilty-pleasure seeking adults such as myself. The plotting is fast and furious, the dialogue is pitch-perfect, and the human interest is ignited often with true love, mystery, and crisis. In other words, this literary adventure is filled with fun, action, and intrigue of a highly-believable, supernatural sort. That Ms. Berliner also conveys a thoroughly adult understanding of the devastating grief survivors feel over their deceased loved ones only adds to the veracity and completeness of her book. It would be a shame to waste all this talented fun solely on the kids.
Michael and Sarah are dead, but that doesn't mean that they can't make the most out of their afterlives. For some reason they are stuck in between as ghosts. Just now, months after Michael's death and decades after Sarah's death are they learning their true purpose for remaining on Earth. However, their positions come with danger. Michael is being chased by demons who are wreaking havoc on the spirit world and the corporeal world and they are using Sarah as bait. Meanwhile, Michael and Sarah are trying to make the most of their afterlife romance while learning what they can from other ghosts around them, checking in on Michael's living family and trying to come to terms with their newfound purposes.
This episode of the Ghost Chronicles was action packed. Michael and Sarah's story picks up right where it left off in book one. I was glad to see that they were still happy in their situation in the afterlife as well as finding out more about why they were not able to move on. Ghost Chronicles Two was kept fast-paced with interchanging scenes of of levity, parties and fun with demons, battles and suspense. I really enjoyed learning more about the afterlife and how all of the ghosts were content to be equal in death no matter of race, religion or station in life. It was also very fun being able to see glimpses of famous ghosts such as Albert Einstein. Most of all, I appreciated how Michael's new position allowed me to see how good can come out of death. It was interesting learning about the Cocoanut Grove fire through the eyes of those who were there. I can't wait to read more about Michael and Sarah's new found job and amazing powers in the next book.

I read the first Ghost Chronicles by Marlo Berliner recently (and gave it 5 Stars in my review) and immediately added Ghost Chronicles 2 to my TBR list. I wasn’t disappointed!
Synopsis (from the author): What’s there to fear if you’re already dead? Plenty. Michael and Sarah now know for certain, there is a destination after death. They also know they better find their way out of the afterlife fast, before the devil claims Michael’s soul. What they don’t know? Before they can get to heaven… they may just have to go through hell.
What I liked: As with the first book, we join Michael as he and Sara try to find their way and their individual purposes so they can move on from their ghostly existence. We learn more about each and Tom’s role begins to take shape, although his frequent unexplained disappearances got to be annoying. I enjoyed the characters’ development, the story, and how they reacted to different trials. Will Michael and Sara move on or will they discover why they are still here? Will they give in to their passion? You’ll have to read The Ghost Chronicles 2 to find out!
What I didn’t like: In spite of the elements listed above, the story dragged in places, with a few repetitive scenes. The slow spots didn’t detract from the book much, but it made it a little less enjoyable and I found myself skimming through a few of the battles.
Overall impression: I liked the book and I was quickly drawn into Michael and Sara’s limbo world. The Ghost Chronicles 2 kept me guessing how it would evolve and the roles Michael, Sara, and Tom would play. If you enjoy paranormal romance and ghostly shadow worlds, read this one!
After reading the first Ghost Chronicles book, I was motivated to continue the series, and I'm glad I did.
Our hero, Michael, has had time to adapt to being dead, to explore his relationship with Sarah, and to learn from his enigmatic mentor Tom. But as evil forces begin to converge, Michael soon realizes that what he doesn't know about his true purpose in the afterlife far outweighs what he does.
First, I must commend Marlo Berliner on the wonderfully vivid picture she paints of the setting, which includes various parts of Massachusetts and New York. It's obvious she did tons of research, as evidenced by the actual historical events - and certain notable historic figures! - that she intersperses in the narrative. It's like we're taking a literary tour of some picturesque locals, whether they still exist in today's world or not.
The emotion packed into this story is also at a high level. As Michael's feelings for Sarah deepen, I could only wonder if they were truly meant to be together - what would happen if Sarah was called into the light? - especially when the forces of hell seem to be targeting them. Add that to the trauma that Michael's death seems to have had on his still-living family, and ... well, you get the picture.
If I had one problem with the story, it's that the history lessons often took center stage, pushing the actual story - Michael's training, and the imminent confrontation with the forces of darkness - to the backburner. The walk through history was fun to absorb and gave the story a large dose of realism, but I feel like much of it wasn't pertinent to the actual story.
Still, I enjoyed it enough to want to continue the series. Hurry up with Book Three, Ms. Berliner!
Spoiler alert! The continuing story of a supernatural relationship is a page turner just like the first book in this series. The sprinkling of history added to the fun. The only problem is...Jerry Lee Lewis is a ghost in this book and he is still very much alive at the time of this review. Also, no mention later of the family ghost dog. Did she move on because Michael's family was healing? Berliner is creative enough to carry the story through many ghostly adventures and keep the reader entertained.

Wow an amazing second book. Michael and Sarah realize that there really is a destination after death. The important thing for them is to get out of the afterlife before the devil gets to Michael. He has no idea why. Very intriguing.
I loved the book. Marlo has a real knack for getting into the minds of Michael and Sarah. She develops her characters well. The story line keeps you interested and you dont want to put the book down...and what a cliffhanger I can't wait for the next one.
Even though I am the author of this book, I just reread it this past week and I'm happy to say it left me with a smile on my face. These characters, the Angel of the Sea and the setting in Cape May mean so much to me. On to Book Three...
I this book for free from the author/publisher in response for an honest review of the book. I have not had the opportunity to read this book at this time. I will add my review of this book once I have read the book. Thank k you for allowing me the optometrist review your work. I look forward to reading this book.
Marlo Berliner, you had me at spirits, angels and demons! This series is suspenseful, romantic and thought provoking all at the same time. As in The Ghost Chronicles 1, the reader is frequently taken back in time to events in history, which are told in such a way as if the author herself was an actual witness to the events that unwound. Her description of The Angel of the Sea (the inn that is "home" for Michael and Sarah) and the sites in and around Cape May are so detailed that they may have sparked a road trip for me this summer.
As Michael and Sarah continue to navigate their way through the afterlife, their story continues to deepen and unravel, which adds to the complexity of their journey in the afterlife while seeking to find their final destination, Heaven. I cannot wait to find out what it is in store for Michael, Sarah and Tom (Michael's mentor) and the places Marlo will take readers next in the upcoming Chronicles 3. And who knows, maybe I will have my own "experience" to tell after my road trip to Cape May!
I must admit that most of the time I do not read the Author's Notes because I am too excited to move onto my next read, however, Marlo's notes explaining actual facts about the places and events that occurred are an unexpected and informative read.
Having read the first Ghost Chronicles, I enjoyed this read. Still invested in protagonist, Michael, and Sarah. Still intrigued by the character, Tom. However, I liked the first book more.
This second book had great drama moments, i.e., things that happen to Michael’s family, but there was a lot more sci-fi, fantasy in this book, and I’m not a sci-fi fan. Unfortunately , in my opinion, the battles were more science fiction than supernatural or spiritual or ghostly. And the conflicts between team good and team evil are getting monotonous. Not a fan of bringing vampires into the mix, either.
The strong parts for me remain the angst-ridden scenes when Michael returns to visit the places and people in the earthly life from which he was torn.
And I hand it to the author for continuing to create non-explanation explanations to all the spiritual questions Michael adks of Tom. Bravo.
Michael and Sarah are dead, but they’ve been in a state of limbo for some time now. Michael has a mentor, but a lot of good that does him, since all he seems to do is wait for Michael to figure things out on his own anyway. So now it would appear that there’s a place where you go after you die . . . maybe. His mentor doesn’t really know, so there’s that. But what they’re just beginning to understand is more chilling than death itself. It would appear they might just have to go to hell, and maybe, just maybe that’s how they’ll reach heaven.
Author Marlo Berlinger’s The Ghost Chronicles 2 is a paranormal romance that is skillfully written with lot’s of interesting sub-plots and loads of humor for good measure. This YA crossover will hold great appeal to a broad audience of readership and is recommended for home and school libraries and has earned the Literary Classics Seal of Approval.
Micheal is trying to learn how to live in the afterlife as a ghost angel. He doesn’t like to follow orders so his mentor Tom and him are at odds a lot. Micheal meets Sarah, she’s a ghost seer and she helps to keep him in line. Enjoyed this story, it had some great quotes to ponder on .
Im honestly so glad I stuck with the story into this second book. Whereas the first one one sweet, this second one really shows the growth and confidence of the author and her storytelling. While the editing is still shaky at best, the descriptions and suspense she is able to weave help to counteract it. Genuinely looking forward to the third.
Once again the end stinks! If a book 3 ever comes out I will check the last page and if it says “to be continued” I am not even going to start it. I do like all the references to the Angel of the Sea though! My friend owns that B&B!
This book was a little better than the first one, I hope the next one is better. I do plan on reading the third one as this book ended on a cliff hanger and I would like to know how it ends.
I literally cannot wait for book three! I love how the author includes famous people and I love how the story was told. Demons, Vampires, Heaven and Hell, can't trust anybody I loved the vibe of this book would defiently recommend and would read again and again!
