She wants him dead. He wants her in bed.

Can mortal enemies work together to survive the twisted perils of a corrupt space race and fall in love.
THE GREAT SPACE RACE SERIES!

Check out more exciting Great Space Race romance by some of the hottest authors in Science Fiction & Fantasy! All novels are standalone romance and can be enjoyed in isolation, but you are bound to want more from the Paragon Galaxy!
Ahnna Sokovik and Tierc Marcel belong in Kayla Stonor’s Qui Treaty universe until they are hauled into The Great Space Race set in the Paragon Galaxy. In the Qui Treaty Collection inspired by Under By Treaty, each alien shapeshifter romance is a standalone story set in the Qui galactic empire, with annihilation of mankind held at bay through the Treaty consummated between the Qui Empress and the human consort abducted under its terms.
Kayla Stonor is the pen name of an author of dark, edgy, erotic romance featuring alpha males who submit to the women they grow to love.
Kayla's writings are not the usual romantic fluff. Her novels often skate the edge of consent, with thrilling violence and dramatic relationships between powerful alpha males and dominant women.
It's been 300 years since general Jaden was exchanged for Earth's freedom and the Treaty came into effect. There's been interbreeding, but there are factions of humans who vehemently oppose the dilution of the human genome.
"Once a Qui covets a human, they never let go. They pursue their target. They will seduce, abduct and stalk. Whatever it takes to secure their prize. Keep your distance, children. Run at the first sign of Qui mating scent. It is your duty."
These are the ominous words ringing through HD-X agent Ahnna's mind. Her mission in life is to erradicate proponents who support these interspecies matings... Like Alliance Enforcement agent Tierc Marcel; a Qui human from a noble bloodline. Life would be so much better without the lusty lizards breathing down humanity's back!
Well, Ahnna's wish is about to become reality as the two of them are caught in a wormhole and transported into an alternate universe where the Qui are extinct, and humanity has expanded into the Paragon Galaxy. But: All is not well across the galaxy... Forced to take part in a twisted gameshow, these two adversaries will have to rethink old grudges and long held beliefs, all while the Galaxy is watching them fight, and, ahem, eventually f*** ;-)
Ceasefire is a spin-off of Kayla's Qui Treaty series. As one would expect from a Kayla novel, the players are still human and Qui, but this plot is more action driven than the usual Qui novels. That's to be expected from a series called The Great Space Race; a multi author series. There's less explicit sex, and the usual dark and edgy bdsm play is missing. If sub/dom play is what's been keeping you back from reading the Qui Treaty novels, then this just might be the book for you. (Personally, I've really enjoyed that aspect;-))
I've fallen in love with every single Qui/human pairing, Tierc however, was especially fascinating because of his mixed Heritage. He is Qui - but also human, and, even though Ahnna refuses to acknowledge it; a perfect blend of both, *swoon*. As a hybrid, Tierc is very knowledgeable about to Qui/human history. I sucked up every little tidbit of information about the Qui Galactic empire and adored some of the Qui human names that popped up along the way. Let me just say it's obvious that more military personel than we know about to date went on to produce ofspring with their Qui partners. Saracen, I'm looking at YOU;-)
All being said and done, I thoroughly enjoyed Ceasefire, but I'm also anxious to get back to the original story. I'm far too invested in ALL the imperial Qui nobles, the upcoming Surashan war and Jaden/Sonil's relationship to make due with just historical anecdotes.
~I was given an eArc in exchange for an honest review. Many thanks to the author~
A Space Opera novel - CEASEFIRE, TEAM: ORION’S NEBULA, #6
Two unsuspecting individuals are snatched involuntarily from earth into a parallel universe by the powerful and corrupt Media Giant - Octiron Media Corp. Octiron Media is in the habit of obtaining contestants by whatever method they please for their annual televised broadcast of the Great Space Race. The two contestants comprising TEAM:ORION’S NEBULA are no exception, except for the fact that these two individuals have been snatched from another Time - with possibly huge negative rippling repercussions. Yet Octiron thinks nothing of the possible cost in lives changed or lost, or even any potential multi-global dangers - all that matters is “Good Ratings”.
Noble born and military trained, Tierc Marcel/MMC is part human, part Qui/reptilian. His race, the Qui, came to earth and overpowered humans with their speed, strength, and bio-weapons over 300 yrs ago. Since then, they have inter-married and generally live peacefully among humans. Ahnna Sokovik/FMC is a human undercover agent born into a radical group, from Tierc’s universe, whose training purpose and only goal is targeting specific Qui hybrids in government or royalty and eliminating them. Members of her unified group live and breathe revenge and are trained operatives from youth. Bitter enemies (at least from Ahnna’s perspective), Tierc and Ahnna have been forcibly (and temporarily) teamed together by Octiron Media Corp to comprise the 2-member space race team: ORION’S NEBULA. In addition, they quickly discover their ship’s AI is feeding them falsified or Octiron-altered information regarding their challenges. Going forward, Tierc and Ahnna must begin working as a team and make the best of their forced situation if either of them hopes to survive the deceitful, brutal, and deadly aspects of the race and return home to their own Time & Universe.
CEASEFIRE - TEAM: ORION’S NEBULA, bk#6 (and last?) in the Great Space Race series, continues the competitive space race series but CEASEFIRE, #6 ramped up the animosity between the team members and the intensity in the story. Although I truly enjoyed this ENEMIES TO LOVERS Space Opera title, I had to step back a couple times because Yikes! I was certain Tierc and Ahnna weren’t going to survive. :0
I recommend the complete Space Opera anthology series, The Great Space Race and the final book, CEASEFIRE, TEAM:ORION’S NEBULA (which does end well - Big Sigh!) The Great Space Race anthology series includes: #1) Starshadow; #2) Expode; #3) Flare; #4) Orion’s Gate; #5) Freefall; and #6) Ceasefire.
READER CAUTIONS - VIOLENCE - Similar to Star Trek Nex Gen, Star Trek series or Marvel movies. IMO, CEASFIRE is the edgiest/darkest in the series. PROFANITY - Yes. Strong language used. SEXUAL SITUATIONS - Yes. There is on-scene sexual Intimacy between the 2 main characters as they build trust and their relationship grows.
I do not recommend CEASEFIRE to readers who prefer CLEAN fiction or to YA readers.
Love – Hate – Enemy -Lovers … where does one draw the line? Ahnna had a long line to follow and to grow personally from. The mental dance that Ahnna and Tierc had with each other was almost as interesting as watching them play out the different challenges. My heart broke for Ahnna at some points. I was glad to see that Tierc had a lot more patience and perseverance when dealing with her. Since this was part of a set of stories by different authors all based on the Great Space Race, I was interested in seeing how the "winners" would play out in the books. I read of a couple of the books at the same time and am quite pleased that each author brought to their books a unique story that still fit in with the rest. Ceasefire was no exception.
This is a story that will draw you in from page one! It will rock you and keep you at the edge of your seat cheering, screaming, running and making mayhem because of the divide Ahnna and Terc must overcome! Ms. Stonor knows exactly what it takes to hold the readers attention and gives it to you twofold! I loved this couple and am looking forward to reading more from Ms. Stonor!
Great book! 300 years into the future from the very first Qui book, our characters are pulled into a portal to a parallel universe where they are subjected to a reality show that has contestants racing towards the most points to win the grand prize. Sexy, exciting, adventurous, romantic, great SFR. Enjoy!
