Aiden has spent three years of his life as the live-in Omega of Vincent Hart, a wealthy Alpha with exacting standards and a cruel streak. Aiden wants to leave but it’s not just him he has to think about.
Enter Mac, the new security guard. Aiden avoids him at first, but the Alpha is kind in a way Vincent has never been, and there’s no denying the attraction between them. When Mac offers Aiden a way out, the Omega realizes there’s more going on than he can see.
For Mac, working for Hart is a step in the right direction, until he’s recruited by the shifter crimes unit to spy on his new employer. They suspect Hart is involved in the buying and selling of Omega and it is Mac’s job to help them prove it. He just wasn’t expecting Aiden, the Omega living in Hart’s house, in Hart’s bed. It doesn’t take long to figure out that Vincent has a hold over him, something keeping Aiden from running. Mac must find a way to get them both out safely, all the while keeping Hart in the dark about his and Aiden’s growing attraction. Simple, right?
Saving Hearts is the third book of The Omega Haven series. It is a 43,000-word paranormal romance with a happy ending and no major cliffhangers. It can be read as a standalone but is better enjoyed as part of the series. There are some difficult themes, and scenes and language not suitable for readers under the age of eighteen.
Claire Cullen is an author and aspiring baker. Since she was a toddler, she has loved making up stories. Getting them down on paper proved a challenge in the early years when her preferred medium was finger puppets. She moved on to pen and paper, and later to keyboards, and hasn't looked back since, except for occasional bouts of nostalgia.
This is the third book in The Omega Haven Series. This series has the potential to become another Claire Cullen legend. Mac is an Alpha kicked out of his pack. Aiden is the Omega, caught in a bad situation with a child being used to control him. I love this author, she is one my go to, must buy. This story however, just seem to be missing something. It was exciting at times. But to me for some reason, the story just felt off. Please, this is in no way a negative review. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS AMAZING SERIES!!!
This book was a tough one to read. It had very dark themes and I found myself afraid to keep reading. I kept avoiding moving forward out of fear for the characters.
It was well written but it wrapped up the main story arc and no new characters were introduced at the end implying a finale but I think there are more books in this series.
I wouldn't want to reread this one but I'll continue the series.
This series has some very dark moments though the overall theme is upbeat and positive. New characters with some connected history, good character development and some of the same cast from previous books help tie the series together. I definitely would recommend reading these in sequence to not miss on those connections. This book ends on a positive note, with a promise there will be a HEA.
Claire Cullen's shifter books are comfort crack for me. The book is very well written, with interesting characters and storyline, and not overloaded with sex. This is book 3 of the series but each book reads well as a standalone. The only thing I wish is that all those cute little kids had run around as wolves.
Oh, sweet Mac! This was by far the best book, the action, the final moment where Vicent is caught and everything that comes up to that moment was well done. Here the author didn't sugar coat anything, she presented a realistic view of someone who was in need and abused and how they were able to leave that behind. Mac and Aiden were sweet, slow built and nice💕
What an amazing ending to such beautiful and awesome series, Mac and Aiden are so meant to be. Both of them were dealt with a shity hand in life and it was quite thrilling reading about it, and the whole thing was great! I absolutely adore this one, even a bit more of the other books in this series 🙊
This was a really great third installment of this series. The world building is well done. Mac and Aiden were both compelling and complex characters that I liked a lot.
This book should have come with a trigger warning for domestic abuse. This book also doesn't have in-book Mpreg birth, unlike the earlier two in the series.
This was easily my favorite book in the series, and it completely and utterly broke my heart. It killed me that Aiden was trapped by the monster that's been stalking our nightmares throughout this series, and how he didn't think he could leave. How he felt like, because he had walked himself right into this situation, it was his own fault and his fate in life. It broke my heart how Vincent was holding Aiden's daughter over his head and how Aiden would never leave because he wanted a better life for his child, and he felt like this was the only way to give it to her.
Mac having fallen in with the wrong people for so long, and then meeting Chris and getting a chance to do something better was kind of awesome. I liked how determined Mac was to find what Chris was looking for. And how, the moment he knew Aiden was in trouble, he wanted to do something to help. It killed me that he couldn't do much without compromising himself and how he had to turn away even when he knew Aiden was hurting.
I loved watching Aiden and Mac slowly get to know each other, the hesitancy on both their parts, the way they both had to be so careful, but how they both knew there was something there. It killed me how Vincent would hurt Aiden to make sure Mac wasn't getting any ideas. I died over Mac thinking through every way he could help, but knowing there was nothing he could do until he completed his mission.
It killed me how Vincent never wanted anything to do with Aiden's heats and how he left him tied up so he couldn't even get himself through it. My heart broke over Mac finding Aiden like that and helping him down, and then helping him through his heat. I liked how they got to spend that together without fear of Vincent coming in and questioning things.
Aiden finally letting him trust that Mac had a plan and that he would protect both him and his daughter made me so happy. I love that Mac got them out of that situation, and I died over the fact that Mac himself got shot for his troubles. Vincent knowing all along that Mac and Aiden had been together and how he threatened Aiden to hurt Mac killed me.
It broke my heart how listless Aiden became once he was finally free, how he didn't think he knew how to be a father and how he was afraid of being taken or hurt, how he couldn't trust anyone, how he didn't know how to live a normal life anymore. I loved that Mac was there for him, how he helped ease Aiden and how quickly he bonded with his daughter. I love how the three of them became a little family before Aiden and Mac really talked through what they were to one another. I love how Mac is going to work with Chris and Will and how he gets to turn his life around. I love that Aiden gets to have his child back and finally get the happiness he always deserved with Mac <3
I'm really enjoying this series, and I'm always happy to see a new story from this author! Claire Cullen writes some wonderful hurt/comfort and abused-omega-gets-saved-by-the-perfectforhim-alpha type of characters, and this one is more proof of the strength of her writing those types of characters.
Aiden has been living with Vincent, a cruel alpha who has worked out a "deal" with Aiden for his completely ownership in exchange for a roof over his head and his daughter to be taken care of. When Mac gets a job working for Vincent, with the ultimate goal of trying to take down Vincent's illegal doings, he discovers Aiden and knows that he must rescue him as well.
One thing I really liked was that the conflict with Vincent was really dealt with in the first 2/3rds of the story, leaving the last part of the story for Aiden and Mac to get to know each other openly and have Aiden start to become independent again and be a father to his daughter. Light on the sex, but high on the emotions, this was a great installment in the series.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!
