MATING A GRIZZLY is book two in the unusual League Of Gallize Shifters series (all stand alone paranormal romances).

Justin is an elite black ops warrior on a unique shifter team. He’s as deadly as they come and determined to succeed on every mission. He turns into a monster grizzly and rushes into danger without hesitation to do his duty … but he's having second thoughts on his current assignment. If there’s one thing he can’t tolerate it is arrogant people like the jerks he grew up around who acted superior to him. Justin can’t believe he’s stuck playing bodyguard for a Russian shifter princess. He’d rather face down a pack of armed terrorists alone than spend time with a cold-hearted prima donna. Except, Elianna turns out to be unlike anything he expected. She’s hot, but he’d like to see her smile. He’s on a mission to get that smile—and more. First he has to stop the assassin trying to kill him and kidnap her.

Having lived her life as an outcast among her own kind, Elianna hates being called princess. She’s the ugly mistake of a Russian grizzly shifter who got her polar bear mother pregnant while on a sabbatical from his mate. With the exception of the little boy she saved after his clan abandoned him, men are the bane of Elianna’s life. When she makes a miscalculation under duress, her biological father coerces Elianna into accepting a deal with high stakes if she fails.

Justin is unlike any other man, human or shifter, she’s ever been around. He makes her want things she can’t have—like mating—because the deal she struck prevents a relationship with him or she’ll never see the little boy again who is everything to her. Her plan was simple and doable, but meeting Justin complicated everything.

The Grizzly and the Grolar!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙💚💜🖤
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 😠🙃😍😘
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Solo Narration

The Hero: Justin - he is a grizzly bear shifter and part of the League of Gallize shifters. The Gallize shifters are stronger and more powerful than normal shifters and they work covertly as a military force to enforce shifter laws. They protect both humans and shifters and most recently have been working to take down the Black River wolf pack, a global pack of wolves that have been creating specialized drugs to enhance shifter power and they have been working with mages in their efforts.

The heroine: Elianna - She is a twenty two year old bear shifter from Russia, a result of the mating of a grizzly bear shifter (her father) and a polar bear shifter (her mother). She is running and has been having visions of a grizzly bear shifter standing between her and her brother Nico. Though now she is running from a group of Black River Shifters whom her mother had crossed before she was killed.

The Story: Elianna worked on the docks as a low paid laborer because she was an outcast among her own kind. Her genetic father ruled the Romanov-Chemchatka bear clan and he was descended from royalty. Though Elianna hadn’t ever met her father, he had a mate and a family. Elianna was a half breed bastard child and had looks that set her apart from both her mother’s polar bear clan and her father’s grizzly bear clan. She had the dark hair and light eyes.

Justin wasn’t too happy about getting the job of being a bodyguard to the princess from Russia, but when he sees her, he is instantly attracted to the beautiful shifter. Though Justin is supposed to take Elianna to his former clan where she is supposed to mate one of the clan members. Justin was pretty funny, with the fact that he was a bit grumpy about his new assignment.

I liked this story more than the first. The character development was much better and we got to meet more of the Gallize shifters than in the first book. There was a lot of camaraderie between the Gallize men. I also liked the premise of Elianna coming to a new world much different than where she grew up and the fact that Justin thought she would be a princess, though in truth she was just the unwanted daughter of a powerful man. The fact that she got visions kept things interesting as well.

This story was told in multiple points of view via solo narration and was narrated by Steven R. Thorne. He is a good narrator, though I do like dual narration much better than solo, duet narration is even better, though books with that are quite hard to find.

Mating a Grizzly by Dianna Love

Update: I listened to the audio version and still utterly enjoyed this book. The narrator is the same as previous books and goes the growly thing very well.

2nd in the paranormal romance from the League of Gallize Shifters. Can stand alone.

Justin and his bear Herc had no expectation of ever finding a mate. As an elite black ops warrior he protects those he is assigned to with dedication and authority. But his newest charge, Elianna, tries his patience by saying “No” for any request or order he tries to give her.
His new goal: get her to smile.
Elianna has had a difficult life and refuses to be treated like a princess. She finds Justin frustrating and he says the most outrageously silly things. The more time she spends with him, the more she and her bear are intrigued.

This couple was adorable in their attempting to understand each other but getting it wrong for the most part. When they finally talked it out, it was sweet to see their attraction and acceptance growing for each other.
It was amusing that Justin named his bear, even though technically they are one. The name then gave them separate and distinct personalities. Then add Monty to the mix. Humorous.

An intriguing paranormal romance series with enemies, lovers, deep friendships and a fatal mating curse. I look forward to reading more of these shifters finding their mates while defeating the drug runners.

Another great animal.

Another good book to the series. I am enjoying the series and love the different animals and characters as well. I know my animal would be a bear. Wonder what the next book will bring?

5 Candi Kisses and a Grolar Bear and Grizzly...

This new world Dianna Love has created is adventurous, suspenseful, well built. The characters are developed and compelling. Gray Wolf Mate, book 1 in this series set the stage for a page turning, see-saw ride of adventure.

Mating a Grizzly keep me on the edge page by page. I read it in one day. Could not put it down and can't wait for book 3. Dianna is a storyteller who gets better with each book.

Mating A Grizzly is an exciting and romantic story about a Gallize Shifter, Justin. He's not happy when the Guardian tells him that his next assignment is to be the bodyguard for a Russian Princess. Elianna is a hybrid bear shifter. Is that why someone wants to kidnap her? Justin will do everything in his power to keep her safe and find out who's behind this attack. Elianna isn't spoiled and cosseted. She's powerful shifter, but most important she's protective and will do what's necessary to keep those she loves safe. I was sorry that others made her ashamed of who she was. I loved the chemistry between Justin and Elianna. They were perfect together. Unfortunately it didn't look like they would become mates. The friends to lovers' trope is a favorite of mine. As always I enjoyed Dianna Love's tale. Her characters are so engaging that they make you want them to find love. The dialogue and the story sizzles. This second book in The Gallize Shifter series kept my reading. I needed answers. The audiobook, thanks to the narration by Stephen R. Thorne, ramps up the tension. I can't wait to see what happens next.

MATING A GRIZZLY is a smart shifter romance that had me thinking about it long after the last page.
Grizzly Gallize Shifter Justin is as big and bad as they come but he grew up ostracized in his bear clan because he couldn’t shift as a child. Ursine hybrid Elianna may be a bastard Russian princess but she too grew up as an outcast. We get to see how it affected each of these shifters and their relationships with their bear and others as Justin has five days to get her from San Francisco to Louisiana. Those five days are both the longest and the shortest of their lives.
This is a fast paced, high energy story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I couldn’t put it down. These two bears are so different and so alike and so right for each other.

The League of Gallize Shifters series continues with another story packed with intrigue, romance, and lots of emotional issues. From the opening scene to the last compelling situation, I was completely enthralled by all the creative happenings which were always so realistic. Dianna Love masterfully brings all the paranormal aspects to life with believability and uniqueness. I was pleasantly surprised time and again by how much I enjoyed every development in the story, as each new episode left me more immersed in the lives of two fascinating characters. MATING A GRIZZLY fully captures the imagination with cleverly thought-out adventures.

Although her father is an influential grizzly shifter with royalty in his background, there was little joy for Elianna while growing up in Russia. Her mother is a polar bear shifter, and with her mixed heritage, sadly neither clan of her parents will claim her. When her life takes a terrible turn, she thinks no one will assist her or the young orphan boy for whom she cares deeply. After help comes from an unexpected source, Elianna finds herself leaving Russia for the United States, where she can hopefully find some happiness for the first time ever. To make the trip to her Louisiana destination, a grizzly shifter greets her upon arriving in the states.

Before Justin meets Elianna, he had already decided the Russian princess would be much trouble with a condescending attitude. But as the two interact, he learns she is not the snobby individual that he anticipated. Justin fully thought his mission as a Gallize shifter would not be complicated, as delivering one female should be easy. Yet between their longer travel time and having a wolf shifter attack her, the couple have numerous hurdles to overcome.

Since the books in the League of Gallize Shifters series can be read in any order, as Dianna Love always gives enough background information, this might be your first-time meeting Justin. I was definitely enchanted in the first book by this interesting man who can become a bear, as he is charming and very dedicated when it comes to his job as a Gallize shifter. He is also a loyal friend and fierce fighter when needed, plus has a wicked sense of humor. All his traits are very apparent when he becomes a bodyguard to Elianna, especially his caring side. I saw Justin as such a wonderful hero, as he puts others first regardless of the cost to himself.

When he and Elianna have a discussion, sparks really do fly. Both are lively conversationalists, and I loved the many ways that she responded to something he said since not all English words were understood. I really felt for her as so much of her life had been a challenge, and my admiration just kept increasing when I saw how she would react to various situations. These two discover much about each other which has them yearning for more, but I could not see a workable solution for them without plenty of problems to solve. If a dangerous incident arose, I was held in suspense until the event played out, and Ms. Love certainly gave Justin and Elianna several perilous threats to face. MATING A GRIZZLY skillfully balances suspense, the paranormal, and numerous romantic elements to create an engrossing read on every page.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of the book, and all comments are my honest opinion

Justin is part of a black op team of shifters. He has his new mission. Take a Russian princess shifter from San Francisco to Louisiana in five days. He needs to take her to the Boudreaux Clan where he lived as a child, being ridiculed for not being able to shift into his bear, his childhood was not pleasant.
Elianna was also an outcast. A Ursid hybrid not being wanted by either her mothers clan of polar bears, or the clan of her father, Alexandre, leader of the Romanov's a Grizzly clan. After the death of her mother, Alexandre wants to send her to America to the Boudreaux Clan to mate. Once this is done he will send Nico, a little boy that she has been raising as a little brother. He means everything to her.
Justin meets up with Elianna but before they can get out of town she takes off for a walk where she is attacked by wolf shifters. Justin reaches her just in time to save her. Justin doesn't have time to be dealing with this spoiled princess. He would rather be with his friends in Wyoming, trying to help his friend Adrian who is getting lost in his wolf.
Along the way they begin enjoying each other more and more. Justin's bear Herc wants to mate with Eli's bear. Elianna is having trouble with her bear fighting to get out. Justin knows that they need to work together. First he tells Eli that she needs to give her bear a name, which she does not want to do.
Justin wants to take her on a scenic route around his old stomping grounds when there is another attack on them. Who is behind this, and who wants her dead? The only ones that know she is in America is the ones she left in Russia, and the clan in Louisiana.
They must learn to trust each other and themselves.

I absolutely loved this book. This is the second book in the Gallize Shifters series, and it had my attention from the very beginning. Very hard to put down. I am looking forward to the next book in this series!!

Oh my gosh...I thought Wolf shifters were to die for and personally my favorite but THAT was BEFORE I read Ms. Love's "Mating a Grizzly" and discovered Justin!! Ms. Love has such a talent that I sat enthralled for hours immersed in world of subterfuge, danger and all out hunger (but not the food kind) with sweaty palms and my jaw sore from clenching. A remarkable story with characters that knock heads and hips and holds you hostage until the last page.!! Loved it

This is still a fairly new series as were only on book #2 with Mating A Grizzly (League of Gallize Shifters) and already this has become for me very addictive reading!

Justin who is a Grizzly Gallize Shifter who is sent to protect and deliver a Russian princess in the form of Elianna, daughter of a powerful Russian Grizzly Alpha to Clan Boudreaux. Elianna makes a deal with her Alpha to mate one of the males of Clan Boudreaux to escape Russia and be able to have her little brother Nico delivered safely to her once she has held up her part of the deal. Justin and Eli have an attraction to each other that neither can understand fully until their bears become acquainted.

This story is about a journey of self discovery for both Justin and Eli as they travel across the USA to Eli's destination. They run into all kinds of trouble while having lots of action packed escapades on route and there's plenty of high drama and some fun and frolics thrown into the mix to make this a very exciting and fast paced story. There must have been so much thought put into the planning and plotline of this series by the author that it's amazing how different this is to so many other shifter books that i've read before. This is quite unique and deserves to be recognised as so.

Dianna Love writes spellbinding stories that leave you reeling long after you've finish reading them. It's been a few days since I finished reading this book but it's still at the forefront of my mind at how great this book was to read. I totally loved Justin and Eli's story.
A brilliant 5 Star read!

This is a very wonderful book. It's a shame that it took me a week to read it. Now I have nothing to read LOL.

Justin is a Gallize bear shifter. Elianna is an ursid hybrid that is ashamed of her bear. When Elianna leaves Russia for the US because she makes a deal with her father, Alexandre, she is forced to leave her adopted little brother behind. She is expected to join the clan that Justin had left when he was a young man. Elianna is trying to find someplace that she can live with her brother Nico because she is sure the clan would not want her because of her "grolar" bear. She is out of touch with her bear because of being part polar bear and part grizzly, but it only takes Justin to make her realize how special her bear really is.

I can't wait for the next book to be out.

10 out of 5 stars Great work Dianna (as always).

I received an ARC from the author for an honest review.

League of Gallize Shifters Book Two

As a child, Elianna is exiled from her father's clan of shifters due to her mixed blood. However, he keeps watch over her. When her mother is killed he steps in to protect Elianna, but altruism is not his reason. He has made a deal with an American clan of bears to make a trade. Justin is with his Gallize brothers when he gets the call that he must escort an heiress to his old clan. Considering his clan shunned him when he was younger, he doesn't have any inclination to return, especially not in the company of some pampered princess. Neither of them could be more wrong about their preconceived notions about the other.

If you're looking for a story with shifters, politics and obliterated expectations, this is the book for you!

Mating a Grizzly by Dianna Love is the 2nd book in her League of Gallize Shifters series. The Gallize shifters, are run by an ancient and powerful shifter (Guardian), who secretly protect humans from bad shifter groups. In Mating a Grizzly, we meet Elianna, our heroine, right from the start, as she is running away from a group of wolf shifters. When she gets caught, she fears for the life of her younger brother, Nico, but just in time, she is rescued by her father’s bear pack. Elianna’s father is a powerful grizzly, who is married with other children, and looks upon her as his first child, by a woman he left long ago. Elianna is the outcast princess. To save Nico, she makes a deal with her father to go to the United States and mate with a member of Clan Boudreaux; once she does that they will send Nico to live with her.

Justin, our hero, is one of the Gallize shifters, and the Guardian forces him to take on an assignment to protect and bring a princess to her new Clan. Justin, is a grizzly shifter, and is unhappy about this assignment to be a bodyguard for some princess. He prefers to stay back and help his friend and partner recover from a previous attack (part of earlier novella). When Justin meets Eli, she is not what he expected; as she is strong, determined and smart, though she does have a language barrier being Russian. Eli wants a 5 day break before she is taken to Clan Boundreaux, which she also secretly plans on finding a way to escape and get Nico back.

Eli has trouble shifting, since she has no real control over her bear, not to mention suffering embarrassment from people who do not like her bear. When she is injured, Justin will force her to shift, and he tells her she is a Ursine hybrid, but that that her bear is special and unique. Everything will begin to change, as Justin’s grizzly (named Herc) will recognize Eli’s bear as his mate. This is an exciting and dangerous adventure that will put their lives in danger often. Eli will fight off her growing attraction to Justin, as she knows she must mate someone from her new pack in order to save young Nico. Their slow built romance begins to sizzle, with both knowing their love is real, but can there be any future?

What they do not know is that someone is determined to stop Eli from arriving at Clan Boudreaux. Who is trying to kill Eli?

What follows is an exciting action packed story, but I do not want to ruin it for you by giving any spoilers. The last half of the book was great, especially as we raced to the wild climatic ending, It was an edge of your seat suspense that had us holding our breaths to find out if they would survive. I loved Justin and Eli together, but even close to the end, I was not sure if they could find a way to become mates. Dianna Love once again gives us another wonderful story, and a series that continues to wow us and look forward to more of the same. Mating a Grizzly was a fun, exciting, action packed adventure; with a great sexy couple, which you should be reading.

Fast-paced, action-packed bear shifter PNR with great banter

Although I am not really into bear-shifter PNR I loved this book! It is the second installment in Dianna Love’s new Gallize Shifter series and though in order to get the full background story arc it would probably make sense to start with the first book, Gray Wolf Mate, it also works well as a standalone.

I think I liked this one even more than book one: it’s still got the intensity, urgency and action but it’s paired with some light-hearted banter and humorous monologues the two main protagonists have with their animals.

Elianna has been shunned her whole life for being a ursid hybrid and has lived without a clan, devoting herself to looking after her little adoptive brother. So when circumstances put her brother in the sights of the Kamchatka alpha, she agrees (or rather is made to agree) to go to America and mate with a bear from a local clan there, if she ever wants to see her brother again.
Justin, one of the group of Gallize shifters, is assigned the task of escorting Elianna from her landing point to the bear clan in Louisiana, which also happens to be his previous clan, but from which he did not part on good terms. He expects a spoiled princess, but Elianna turns out very different from his expectations. But it seems not everybody wants Elianna to arrive safely at her destination and Elianna and Justin must work together to have a chance to evade their pursuers.

Quite a few shifter (and other paranormal) romances/series have this insta-lust, mate-bond thing going where the two protagonist are tied to each as soon as the bond snaps into place, for better or worse and sometimes against their (or at least the female’s) will. Although the idea has some appeal (in an imaginary world) I also find it highly problematic because it takes away choice and it often serves as an excuse for the man to “take” the woman, sometimes against her wishes (although they almost always come around). But the whole coercive scenario appears questionable in today’s cultural climate.

I think that is way I appreciated this book so much. Although the Gallize shifters suffer from the mating “curse”, meaning they have to find their mates until a certain age or they will lose themselves in their animals, Justin is nowhere near that point, probably because he is so in tune with his bear. So the two can get to know each other as persons first (although there is an instant attraction). And it’s actually Elianna who initiates sex, though Justin and his bear or on board with that plan instantly. After that it’s not so much of a stretch that their animals clue in to the fact that they are mates first.

Justin and Elianna will make you feel like you have betrayed all your favorite book couples! Mating a Grizzly is book two of Dianna Love's new League of Gallize Shifters. If you want some background you will need to read book one, Mating Grey Wolf, but book two can stand alone. If you love Fenix from Dianna's Belador series you will love the silliness when you first meet Elianna's bear. You will fall in love with the discoveries and growth she faces just as you have loved Evalle and her discoveries and growth!

Travel with Dianna as she takes you from Russia to the National Forests of Wyoming on an adventure that starts with one reluctant Gallize Shifter and an outcast princess. Justin and has plans that do not involve a princess; Elianna has a mission that another depends on her fulfilling. Together they discover they can’t do it without the other.

Justin’s heart is set on helping his friend recover from his horrible experiences that he feels responsible for. The Gallize Shifters are determined to save their brother in arms, but the fight between their brother and his wolf may be more than any of them can conquer. Elianna’s been an outcast her whole life and her animal within only wants to play, eat and swim, but she has a mission that could alter her life forever if not accomplished. When the Guardian tasks Justin to escort a Russian Princess to her destination Justin has to wrestle with doing as asked by their leader and staying to help his friend, not knowing the one thing he needs the most to help is headed to the United States from Russia.

Dianna doesn’t make it easy on the traveling pair, but what mating would be if there wasn’t some adventure thrown in! Elianna must convenience Justin to stick to her plan, but forces are going to make that a bit deadly for the both of them. Justin must keep Eli alive, get her delivered to the clan he never wished to encounter again, then get back to his brothers, but life has other plans for these two. Eli learns life with her bear is not what she thought it would always be, Justin discovers there is more to life than his brothers. When all seems lost in the end everyone learns that Adrian just may be worth saving after all thanks to Justin bringing Eli to the mountains even if his motivation is coming from his heart. Justin is then faced with the hardest decision of his life. Give up the woman he knows is his to a clan he wants no part of, or face the Guardian.

This book is a standalone, but is part of a larger shifter universe that has a common cast of characters with some interwoven plotlines. You can read the books in any order as the author does a great job explaining the mythology behind the Gallize Shifters and the background you need to pick up the second book without having read the first. This does continue throughout the remaining books in the series, so you can start wherever you like, but I think it would make the most sense to start at the beginning. The book as with the rest of the series does get pretty steamy at times so if you are in the mood for a good paranormal romance with a nice amount of heat, check this one out.

This series is a bit different than other shifter series as not all of the characters shift into the same animal and the animals they turn into have their own personalities. I thought that was a nice touch and something different that you don't normally see in PNR. Both the shifter and their animal have to develop as characters through the story and I thought Love did a really good job making sure the personality of the human and the animal side got ample time for the reader to get to know them and develop. I also appreciate that the women in this story are just as powerful as the men. So far they each have abilities and strengths of their own as well as being intelligent and fierce. The couples compliment each other and make each other stronger.

I really enjoyed this book, here is a good amount of humor in the book which was a nice touch. Both of our main characters, Justin and Elianna area bear shifters, and their bear personalities add some whimsy to the book. Justin is a member of the Gallize, a black ops special forces group of shifters. Elianna is a bastart and an outcaset because she has mixed blood. She makes a deal with her father to move to America to protect her brother, and Justin is tasked with protecting her. The two of them immediately don't get along because of their preconceived notions about one another, but they quickly have to get over their issues when it becomes clear that someone is after Elianna.

I had a hard time putting this down once I got started. It is a quick read with engaging characters and a fast moving plot. It has action, romance, and a plotline that keeps you interested. I'm looking forward to catching up on the rest of the series and finding out about the other members of the Gallize and their mates.

A Grolar Bear?

Justin and his friends, Cole and Rory, are desperately trying to save their friend, Adrian, who had been tortured when captured on a mission. He and his wolf are being torn apart by the ordeal that they went through. He wasn’t happy, therefore, when the Guardian who they all answered to, told him that he had a job for
him. He was to go to San Francisco to pick up a Russian Princess shifter and convey her to Clan Boudreaux in Louisiana. This was a double whammy for Justin since Clan Boudreaux was once his clan but he’d had to leave since he had never found his bear and shifted. He went through a really bad time because of the shame but, what he didn’t know was that he couldn’t shift without the help of the Guardian! This was because he was a Gallize shifter, a superior shifter with extra strength and additional powers over and above a normal shifter.
Elianna is a young hybrid shifter. She is the illegitimate daughter of the Romanov shifters and she has just seen her mother killed in front of her eyes. She thinks that she is next but her father (who she has had no contact with ) and his men arrive in time to save her. He then tells her that he has organised a reciprocal mate contract for her with the Boudreaux Clan in the US. She has to agree to this and her brother, Nico, will be allowed to join her. She will also receive money and a new start. For someone who has struggled to make ends meet all her life the only important thing is that she keeps Nico with her. Her first goal is to scope out the country when she gets there in order to be able to take Nico and run when Clan Boudreaux realises that she is a hybrid and her shame is made public.
So, Justin and Elianna don’t get off to a good start. Justin can only think of Adrian and Elianna can think only of Nico. It is only when Elianna is attacked within hours of her arrival that Justin realises that this mission is no walk in the park.
I loved the ‘no nonsense’ attitude of Elianna and who couldn’t admire Justin and Herc? The story heats up in more ways than one and I have to say that I loved it!

Shapeshifting Alpha? Sign me up! I really enjoyed book one in this series and I think I liked this book a bit more. Justin and Elianna are quickly embroiled in so much intense intrigue. Promised to a pack in the states by her father in Russia, Justin is assigned to ensure she gets there. Someone or someones don't want to see that happen. Are they after Justin or Elianna? Who are they?

Set in my Wyoming mountains, the two must work together if they're to live through the attacks on them. Elianna may be a princess but she's been raised as anything but. She's been a total outcast her entire life. Her dual shifter attributes and their physical manifestations have always set her apart but they are exactly what Justin finds so fascinating about her. It takes awhile for her to understand this, of course. She also has some different plans than Justin's been told. She wants to ensure the safety of her ward and has a scheme she thinks will get her out of mating an unwanted shifter to appease her father and allow her to provide a life for her and her ward. All of that is thrown into the wind with the attacks.

Elianna is so appealing. She's the girls who struggles with self-doubt because of negative feedback from those around her all her life. She's been forced to become an almost recluse. She's never know love but surprisingly loves deeply. She's also not really aware of her amazing strength. Justin's tough. The best of special ops warriors. He's not looking for any personal complications.

The action and the touching love story made for a compelling read.

Elianna is the product of a grizzly bear and polar bear shifter. She has been put down all her life and doesn't expect it to change anytime soon. Her father is the Alpha of a Russian clan and when he saved her from wolves he makes her a deal. She must go to Louisiana and find a mate in that clan and she'll get her little brother sent to her. She found the little cub after his clan abandoned him.
Justin is a grizzly shifter and on a elite black ops team. He is special because his bear is bigger and stronger than any other. He was bullied as a child because his bear didn't show itself until he was in his twenties. His boss sends him on a new assignment... get Elianna to the Boudreaux clan. He swore never to be treated below everyone else and surely this Russian princess will be high maintenance and look her nose down on him.
Elianna is far from a princess and shocks Justin by her attitude and all Justin wants to do is make her smile. His bear wants her for his mate and so does Justin but he has to keep her from being kidnapped. Someone is out for her and Justin will do anything to keep her safe.

Excellent story. Action. Sex. Shifters. True love. I will admit the first of it confused me. It was like starting in the middle of a story where I missed something. It took a little bit to understand what was going on but then I couldn't put it down.

Justin is one of the elite Gallize shifters, forced to leave helping his friend to escort Elianna across the country to his old clan. Elianna is a grolar (half grizzly half polar bear) shifter. Elianna was shunned by pack because she was an ursine hybrid, Justin was shunned when he was young because he still hadn't shifted by the time he was eighteen. They have a lot in common but his preconceived notions and her defensiveness and limited English cause a lot of friction before attraction and their bears recognizing that they were mates brings them together. If that wasn't enough going on, they are chased and shot at, then kidnapped and she refuses to mate with Justin because of a deal she made with her estranged father.

There was a lot to like about their story but there were also a lot of extraneous things that didn't really go anywhere and were more of a distraction than added to the story. Maybe they are part of the next book but it isn't clear. I thought the inner dialogue between each shifter and their animal lent to a lot of smiling and the bears sometimes stole the scene. Enjoyable read, looking forward to the next book in the series.

I enjoyed reading this very entertaining shifter romance that has a somewhat different approach to the shifter world & it is an outstanding addition to the “League of Gallize Shifters” series (it can easily be read as a standalone). The plot is interesting with a slow-burn undertone & is also well-paced with some intriguing & totally unexpected situations that kept my attention until the end. The characters are well-developed with distinctive personalities that ultimately complement each other and in particular, I liked the direction the author took to make the characters more appealing to the reader.
There is: various kinds of shifters, hybrid shifters, assassins, guardians, a black ops bear shifter (Justin/Hrec), a female ½ polar ½ grizzly bear shifter (Elianna aka Eli), a rather despicable father (Alexandre) & leader of a Russian grizzly clan, a orphaned young boy (Nico), adventure, action, some humor, drama, intrigue, suspense, magic, deceit, betrayal, memories, emotional blackmail, misunderstandings, attractions, danger, attacks, violence, devious plans, complications, visions/premonitions, heartache, well-meaning manipulations, some steam & a hard-earned happy conclusion.

OMG, I have fallen in love!
I loved the first book in this series, but this one surpassed even that one.
Lots of Danger, intrigue, intensity, adventure, laughs and of course, love.
You can't help but fall in love with both Justin (the hero) and Elianna (the heroine).
Both of these characters have endured being shunned by their clans. Elianna has lived a hard life and is trying to find a new beginning in the US. Justin, already has a preconceived notion about her because of her Princess title and is tasked with the duty to escort her to her new clan when danger approaches. He soon realizes that she is nothing like what he expected. Both he and his bear fall in love with Elianna and her bear. It's a great read with lots of action. I thought wolves were my favorite shifters but after reading Mating a Grizzly, I definitely love this Grizzly bear and Justin.
Can't wait for the next in the series. I just wish it was more than just a 3 book series.
Way to go Dianna, this is an amazing world of shifters you have created and I am hungry for more.....

The story was thrilling, full of excitement and surprises, but my favorite part was the relationship between Justin and his bear, Herc. I really enjoyed seeing them interact with each other, whether they were having fun, or taking on an enemy. It was a special relationship, and I loved it. It was interesting to see how different things were between Eli and her bear. Eli was fierce, and seemed to almost be burdened by her bear. That was a great twist to the shifter aspect of this series. I laughed out loud quite a bit while reading this book, but I was very worried at times too. The League of Gallize shifters is a very dangerous and vicious world. With that being said, if you are looking for something that will have you chuckling one second, and then your heart stopping the next, I highly recommend this book. Hands down, Dianna Love is a master at her craft.
