i’ve really come to love the art thanks to this volume. it contains a very prolonged fight/chase scene between Alice and the sisters (mainly, Hayon) who are now leading the group who left for tokyo.
it’s very action packed and i appreciated how Alice tried to use her sister as a distraction tactic in order to survive by bringing up the past.
we didn’t make much headway in terms of the plot, what this place is and what role this characters are to play in it.

Alice in Borderroad Vol. 3 revolves around a group of people who are working together to gather all the playing cards by heading bound to Tokyo. With limited resources on board, dissonance started to reign over.
Hayon, a former army interrogator, declared a dictatorship as a result of combined frustration of their current circumstance and the vehicle they are using stopped working. She then decides which people to take on her team to continue the journey with her and the useless people she will be left behind, including Kiina.
Unable to leave her friend behind, Alice thinks of a way to escape from Hayon's dictatorship with a playing card on hand. Would Alice and Kiina outrun Hayon and continue the journey to Tokyo to seek for an answer they have been looking for?
Finally, Alice in Borderroad Vol. 3 was able to spice things up for the better. I was actually thinking of dropping this series off since it did not have anything to offer from the past two volumes.
The action scene between Hayon and Alice is surprisingly satisfying for me and so well done. We were also given a glimpse of the true colors of various characters on this volume as well to keep the suspense and the mystery running. I am glad Alice in Borderroad is able to balance things out with this and has picked up with its pace. I might be able to finish this series if it remains consistent for the volumes to come.

Las cosas se ponen un poco más picantes en este tomo. Tras haber huido de la "dictadura" impuesta por una antigua interrogadora militar, Alice y su amiga Kiina llegan a una nueva ciudad, encontrándose que la catástrofe la ha asolado, dejando únicamente desierto.
Pero lejos están de encontrarse a salvo; por un lado, la carencia de recursos (principalmente agua), comienza a pesar sobre ellas, debilitándolas en un momento crucial, pues habiéndose llevado Alice una de las cartas para frustrar los planes del grupo, son conscientes de ser perseguidas. Y Hayon está decidida ya no solo a recuperar la carta sino también a acabar con Alice.
Este tomo me resultó bastante más entretenido que los anteriores, se vuelve a sentir esa tensión en los personajes que se había visto en Borderland; están dispuestos a hacer lo que sea necesario para sobrevivir, incluso si eso implica traicionar o dejar atrás a quienes consideren inútiles. También tiene una mezcla de todo; podemos conocer un poco más del trasfondo de algunos de los miembros del grupo y también hay más acción.
Alice me resulta un personaje cada vez más interesante. Por primera vez la vemos quebrarse, demostrando que no es una chica perfecta que hace los comentarios precisos en el momento preciso, la típica heroina op; pero los recursos que demuestra poseer son bastante creativos.

Alice dan Kiina melarikan diri dengan membawa satu kartu remi. Tapi, Hayeong yang sudah terlanjur kesal dengan Alice memutuskan untuk mengejar kedua siswi SMA itu sampai ke Nagoya yang sudah seperti gurun pasir. Sementara Alice mencari air, Kiina tertangkap oleh kelompok Hayeong dan digunakan untuk memancing Alice supaya keluar.
Di sini mulai terungkap apa pekerjaan mereka yang dulu. Tapi entah kenapa gw ngerasa sikap Hayeong itu terlalu berlebihan, kesannya kayak dia jadi terobsesi banget sama Alice demi untuk menutupi perasaan inferiornya terhadap kakaknya, jadi dia ngelampiasinnya ke Alice, padahal ya Alice masih anak SMA, sedang Hayeong ini sudah berpengalaman.
Di sini mulai terungkap apa pekerjaan mereka yang dulu. The series is getting better as we go along. The story is finally starting to pick up the pace.
