FruityCakes (A Christmas Valley Romance, Book 4)(48,530 words)
Some presents walk on two legs...
Tate Brewster is stunned when he learns Fruitycakes is faltering this holiday season. Who moves their Christmas-baking business in December, anyway? Envisioning a white-haired old lady falling behind on both her bills and her energy, he takes off for Christmas Valley to find out what’s going on.
Charley Palmer, Fruitycakes CBO—Chief Baking Officer—greets Tate at the Fruitycakes door, dusted in flour from head to toe. The white-haired old lady is there, too, but she supervises from a rocking chair, belting out Christmas songs while knitting red and green sweaters. The baking assistants—six little girls in white T-shirts and jeans, candy-cane striped aprons, and dark ponytails—bop to Granny’s Christmas beat.
Life would be a lot simpler if the visions in Tate’s head concerned only sugar plums.
Charley’s never had happily-ever-after, but if Tate’s kisses aren’t sprinkled with Christmas magic, Santa’s reindeer are doing unauthorized fly-bys, dropping love bombs.
Tate’s certain he’s found the woman he’s been waiting for. Now all he has to do is convince Charley.
Ann Simas lives in Oregon, but she is a Colorado girl at heart, having grown up in the Rocky Mountains. An avid word-lover since childhood, she penned her first fiction “book” in high school. She particularly likes to write a mix of mystery-thriller-suspense with a love story and paranormal/supernatural elements. Simas currently has 25 books in print. Both are available in paperback and in ebook format.
An award-winning watercolorist and a budding photographer, Ann also enjoys needlework and gardening in her spare time. She is her family’s “genealogist” and has been blessed with the opportunity to conduct first-hand research in Italy for both her writing and her family tree. The genealogy research from century’s old documents, written in Italian, has been a supreme but gratifying and exciting challenge for her.
This is actually the first book I have ever read by this author and I now realize that I have been missing out of some good writing/excellent reading material. I like everything about this book. It gave me such a warm feeling and it also made me laugh. I love how she wrote the love at first sight aspect, it's not one-sided and something as simple as him wanting to gift his employees with her cakes for Christmas had him flying to her door. He is very compassionate to be a rich guy and he just fits right in with all the chaos of her life of running and relocating a business and more importantly raising triplets, the family circle they have surrounded themselves with is unusual but it works great for them. She is very independent and doesn't trust men since she found out her husband was a cheater but when love calls, she can only answer, eventually....:) Love this, couldn't stop once I got started. I hope her sister gets her HEA as well.

These books rock. Each Christmas Valley book reads as a standalone. But they all fit together wonderfully. Christmas Valley is full of the most neighborly, pay it forward people. As Tate fly's to Christmas Valley to investigate the problems with his orders of FruityCakes, her meets Charley. Having just relocated to Christmas Valley Charley has no idea what amazing changes are coming for her and her family business. I want to return to Christmas Valley again and again. Welcome to the Christmas Valley Community. Once you get to know them, you never want to leave.
This is the first book I've read from this author but it certainly won't be the last. It was something else to learn about Christmas Valley and the quirkiness of the Frutycakes family. Who would have thought that a trip on a lark according to Tate would lead to romance in the most unexpected way? This is a must read!!!!!!!!!!!! I was provided a review copy by Candid Book Reviews.
The fourth book in the A Christmas Valley Romance series is well written and a book I was not putting down until I had finished reading. This is Tate Brewster who wants to know why he can not get the Fruitycakes he orders every year. When he phones and does not get the answer he wants he comes to Christmas Valley. He is met at the door by someone he thinks is a teenager. Imagine his surprise when he finds out Charley Palmer is the mother of three ten year old girls. From the first day he wants to get to know Charley better. This is a fun story to read with in-laws that are not that nice. I read this book through KU and I am voluntarily leaving a review. I would say read this book.
This was a quick-read holiday story that I really enjoyed. I love visiting the Small town of Christmas Valley and catching up with these characters characters. There are some mistakes, not really enough to distract me while reading it though.
Fruitycakes is a delightful take on a holiday romance. All the magic of the Christmas season is rolled up with the hustle and bustle and hard work that goes into making the season special.
