Trapdoor

Rate this book
After fourteen years of staring at the orange shag carpeting covering the basement floor, they had finally had enough. The Dibbs family decided it was time to replace it.

In the process of tearing it out, Mr. Dibbs finds a small trapdoor, hidden underneath the hideous carpet. It doesn't appear to go anywhere.

The children like to play "The Scare Game", their own version of hide and seek. While hiding, thirteen year old Jessica thinks she sees a monster peek out from the trapdoor.

When she tells her parents they don't believe her, citing the near constant stream of horror movies she has been watching lately.

Is she imagining things, or is there something evil living underneath the house?

The softer side of Joe Knetter...
Most of his stuff isn't family-friendly, so he co-wrote this one with his young daughter.
