A must read for all Indians to know about the ISRO spy case plot to sabotage India's cryogenic progress. English title also available "Orbit of Memories"

It is a very good book. In this book he mainly focusses on his professional life. It is a sort of inspirational book. Brief description of life before ISRO days and life spent in France for developing liquid propulsion systems is also there in the book.

An autobiography of Padmabushan Nambi Narayanan who was a reputed scientist with the ISRO and who used to closely work with stalwarts like Vikram Sarabhai, Dr. Abdul Kalam, Satish Dhawan etc. A scientist who got his higher education from the Princeton University and who was also invited to join the NASA but decided to work for his country and was in charge of the cryogenics division of ISRO.
We are all familiar with this name- Nambi Narayanan. He was the scientist who was falsely charged in an espionage case and arrested to be kept in prison for around 40 days. This book tells you the actual facts of the false case, the brutal and ruthless ways the police and the IB officials behaved with a reputed scientist like Nambi and his colleagues. How the whole story of selling “drawings of rocket science for some lakhs of dollars” to Russia through 2 ladies from Maldives was a farce!! When the local police and IB went on to weave a story with fake facts, injudicious reasons, zero evidence and brutal torture on the so called accused leaving them no option but to admit the story, Kerala and India believed this!! The media and police broke the lives of these respected scientists and their families….apparently Nambi Narayanan’s wife had severe mental issues from the day of his arrest…and I still remember reading in newspapers during those days…as to his daughter being called “charande makal” (Daughter of a Spy)!!! What a harrowing experience that would have been for this and the families of all the people who were falsely accused!
The CBI inquiry was initiated pretty soon and their investigation clearly brought out all the facts and it was clear that none of the facts or stories that the IB said were right or true! The 2 ladies from Maldives were not spies out on a honey trap, there was no espionage at all…but there was a huge conspiracy…to topple a state government…a conspiracy which Nambi Narayanan claims to have CIA involvment. The conspiracy that took India’s rocket science 15 years back into history!
Apart from the details of the false espionage story, Nambi also provides us glimpses on his personal life and his life as a scientist in ISRO. His starting days, his fondness and expertise in liquid propulsion when Indian rocketry was still more dependent on solid propellants, the experiments, development of India’s first Vikas engine and the base of India cryogenic technology which is the main driver behind India’s space technology today.

നമ്പി നാരായണന് ക്രൂരമായി വേട്ടയാടപ്പെട്ട ഒരിരയാണ്. ഒരു മഹാത്ഭുതംപോലെ അദ്ദേഹം എല്ലാറ്റിനെയും അതിജീവിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടുമാത്രം നമ്മുടെ സിസ്റ്റം വൈകിയാണെങ്കിലും സത്യത്തിനൊപ്പം നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു എന്നു പറയാന് വയ്യ. യഥാര്ഥ കുറ്റവാളികളെ കണ്ടുപിടിച്ച് അവരര്ഹിക്കുന്ന ശിക്ഷ നടപ്പാക്കാനാവാത്തിടത്തോളം നമുക്ക് തലയുയര്ത്തി നടക്കാനവകാശമില്ല.
