I was disappointed with this book. I feel the ending was poorly done. With no ending and the promise of the ending in a further book. If you must purchase a further book to have a ending to the first then this should be made clear at the onset of the first book. Business yes, but on this topic Not Cool at all.
This book was definitely worth the read. It was inspirational and I believe that Captain Black experienced something truly meaningful because he built his life around it.
It's always hard to understand God and what he allows some to see, and most not to see. And so my big question in this book is why God so clearly communicates with Captain Black, and at least for me it is definitely not as clear. Not as literal.
So that has me wondering a bit about the story behind the book.
That said, what he has done, what he survived, and how he has lived his life is truly inspirational. And it is not lost on me that perhaps by him fully living for the grace of God and fully focusing on Jesus Christ has likely allowed the voice of God to be clearer to him than it is to me.
It is definitely a book that caused me to pause and think. And despite my questions, it is a book that has me wanting to do more of God's work and to understand His word better.
From my limited layman knowledge of scripture study for the past
Fifty years I must say Dale Black's description of heaven is much like I imagine it to be, in a word, indescribable. Thank you for bringing feelings of love that surpasses all understanding. Unlike Dr. Black, I'm not able to adequately Describe my true feelings.
