I liked it when Charizard had saved pikachu. I also liked when scyther saved the other scythers and a polly wrath beat pikachu in a complex battle.

I like how charizard comes back from a full recovery and helps Ash get pikachu back from team rocket.

Considering this adapts one of my favourite episodes of the Orange Island arc… it was a bit of a miss.

None of the emotional beats of these stories seem to land and the added connections to make the three episodes flow didn’t really offer any breathing room for some readers.

However it was nice to see some frames from one of my favourite episodes.

Tracey gets a Scyther, who dislikes Charizard. They fight lots. Ash fights with Charizard a lot. I wish he would stop choosing him. No badges, no real progress.
