I got a free copy of this book for an honest review of it.
Eagles Above the Wind tells a story of family and love affairs, wrapped in adventure and fantasy. It tells story of Queen Meral and her secret, which involves her past love encounters. This is not the kind of fantasy story which have lots of magic and fantastic creature. It focus more on the drama that happened in the past, which Queen Meral's daughter, Tessa, is trying to find out. But even so, even for me that is more attracted to a fantasy story which have tons of magic and fantastic creature, this story really grips me from the start. The way the story is told, bring me curiosity to what will happen next in every page. The story which seems to be easy to guess, has proven to be more complex than what it seems at first, and that is what interesting about this story.
Now on the negative side: One thing that need to be fixed, is that there are lots of typo in this story. But even with all those typos, I still cannot turn my eyes away from every chapter. I wish that the author can re-looked into this and this story will become more enjoyable to read.

A very intriguing story, but I must confess the book is quite long. It is the story of Tessa, a young princess in a kingdom ruled by her mother, Meral. She is tired of her mother's overbearing control, and so she runs away to find her father, a man she has never met and does not know his name. Along the way, she encounters dangers and finds new friends, especially two young men who have their own designs on her.
Meral leaves the kingdom to find her daughter and bring her home. In both of their journeys, they run smack into Meral's past, which includes Aramis, the only man Meral ever loved, and a woman desperate to kill the mother and daughter.
There is a lot of action, some of which is a bit disturbing. You will have to read it to find out if they get back together or even survive what is to come. So you know, this book was originally written in Spanish. There are some grammatical issues with the translation. If you can overlook that, and like a story of strong women, you should check it out.

Novice writer. DNF
I should have known this is a beginning writer. Just the cover alone was a warning. Don't get me wrong, I love finding new writers, but this one just didn't know how to transition and the writing itself is so boring. That is the main reason why I didn't finish it. She (he) has borrowed from other writers that (s)he can't create their own style, making it extremely predictable. It took me three days to get to page 65 (which is the magic number for me) and instantly said, 'Nope, going no further.'
