A nice read. Two of my favorite themes: older man-younger woman and mob boss. I hope there will be more bad boy alpha's stories.
The story is about Nico and Riley.
Her father owes him half a million dollars and he wants her as payment. He's been watching her for years. He wants her and it's time to take what's his.
I love it when a man like him, powerful, strong and dangerous shows his soft side to his woman.
It has an epilogue.

I mean, it was a 2 hr audiobook. Narration was okay (wouldn't have made it through if it was longer).

Another great book by J.L Beck! Nico and Riley fell for eachother instantly. This was a short romance story with a total alpha male and sweet heroine. Can't wait for more in the Bad Boy Alpha's!!

Pretty decent book very insta and little steam.
Nico has been keeping an eye on Riley and Rileys father who has borrowed from him and hasn't paid. Owning a loan shark a cool Mill is not a wise choice. Now he's changed his plans he wants Riley and is going to take her. And their first meeting is explosive since her parents are tied up and Riley does try to make a run for it. But deep down she feels something for Nico now shes his woman and living with him. Nico made it clear to her even if she was "payment" he never saw her as that only his woman.
But they have other drama to deal with before even having a happy ending.

I love alpha men who take what they want and don't back down. J.L. writes one of those right here. Nico has wanted Riley for a while and when he finds a way to get her, he takes it. Riley having no choice but to go with Nico finds herself in a situation that is better than her home life. Nico makes sure that Riley wants for nothing and is very well taken care of, but will Riley be okay with how Nico makes a living? I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.

This was definitely a favorite read, I personally loved Nico, and while I wish this book was longer so I could savor this couple, I’m happy with it as it is and I Loved the Epilogue!

JL Beck certainly knows how to turn on the heat while bringing some darkness! I loved this quick instalove story. All about am alpha who knows exactly what he wants and just takes it. These two are super hot and you have to turn the pages just to see what naughtiness they get up to next. Loved it! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Nico is a mobster type who has had an eye on Riley for several years. Riley is the daughter of someone who owes Nico money. The best collateral for Nico, is Riley. Riley is innocent but her attraction to Nico and his protective nature is the ultimate aphrodisiac.
Nico and Riley have instant chemistry, which is hot! But they fell a little too quickly for me.
I received an ARC of this book and I feel like I may have gotten a rough draft. There were several spelling and grammatical errors. I like JL Beck’s ideas but I don’t think this one was finished.

If you enjoyed the Kingpin Love Affair series by J.L. Beck then you'll like this book. Although no one can take the place of Zerro King in my heart Nico does come pretty damn close. Nico is a very dangerous and powerful man and not someone you want to owe money to. Mark Sullivan owes him $500,000 and he doesn't have the money to pay him back. Nico has been watching Mark's daughter, Riley for a while now and he wants her in lieu of the half a million dollars. He may be a criminal but he intends on treating Riley like a queen and always protecting her. Riley knows she should be afraid of Nico but for some reason he makes her feel safe and she's willing to leave with him. Nico is determined to gain Riley's trust and spend the rest of his life making her happy. My only complaint about this book is I would've liked to know Nico's last name and age because I'm a stickler for details like that.

There were just too many things I couldn't ignore because the author kept drawing attention to them. He has wanted her since he first saw her, a decade ago, she's 19. Her daddy was abusive because he gambled? She wasn't afraid of him, in literally the same sentence she was scared of him.
Now, normally, I can ignore and overlook the things I dislike because, hey, it's fiction I can pretend, but it just kept being brought up, and considering it was a 2 hour audio couldn't overlook it.

Great, fast read.
Great read. The H was all about the h from the time he saw her. There is no talk about him being with anyone else, so not sure if he was celibate from the time he saw her or not. Loved it.

I love a H that is completely obsessed with the h but I don't understand how a woman can get over being kidnapped by a stranger that KILLED her father.

This was a DNF. H has apparently been following h for years and is obsessed with her. The H basically kidnaps the h as payment for money her father owes. Then on that same night that the H takes the h, she confesses being in love with him (remember she just met him that day) and begs H to take her virginity. The sex scenes were cheesy and over the top and not romantic or sexy at all.
I tried to continue reading in hopes the story would get better, but sadly I didn’t care for it, although there were some readers who seemed to enjoy it.

This is an amazing read, I wish it had been longer, but still a must read. The story of Nico and Riley. Nico is your typical alpha bad boy that has loaned Riley's dad money and he has failed to pay so Nico is taking what he has dreamed of for years, Riley. Ever since Nico has loaned Riley's dad money he has had the hots for her, so when the money is late being paid, he takes her and calls it even. Riley cannot explain it but when Nico looks in her eyes or gets near her she has a strange feeling come over her, surely she says she can't be attracted to this man, he's here to hurt my dad. Little does she know Nico would give his life for her, he's in love with her and has been for a while. I will stop before I tell too much but you have to read this book, it has everything a great book needs, and alpha male, that's tall and muscled, full of tats, and would do anything for his woman, you couldn't ask for more in my opinion. Great book JL beck!!!

I really enjoyed this book, it’s good to see something wonderful come from something that could have been different in saying that Riley is innocent and pure but a fathers love of gambling puts her in the position of being taken as payment because he carnt pay it back so in steps Nico the big bad loan shark coming to take what’s owed and is excited about finally getting Riley he has watched her from a far for a few years waiting to step in and have her for good and in his own way he loves her now he has a chance to have her fall in love with him, at first she is frightened but drawn to him at the same time one thing she knows is that he will never hurt her and finds this hard to understand, will Nico get what he wants and will Riley fall in love and do the get there happy ending read this book to find out you will love it. When Riley's dad doesn't pay the money he owes Nico on time Nico comes to collect Riley. Riley knows she should be afraid of Nico but she is drawn to him. Nico has been watching Riley from afar for awhile now and he isn't about to miss his chance to claim her. What he didn't know was that both Riley and her mother had already figured out that her dad owed a lot of people money. They just didn't know what to do about it. While staying with Nico Riley learns that someone close is betraying Nico. Nico learns that Riley is loyal to him and it makes their connection that much stronger for it.
This was a fast read I really enjoyed it. Nico is a strong alpha male that is used to taking what he wants and does so with Riley in this story. The chemistry between them is electric. If you like a great love story then this is for you.

A quick read by author J.L Beck. Taking what's his follows Nico, a loan shark, who has been watching Riley for years, ever since he loaned her father half a million dollars, so when her daddy skips town with Niko’s money, he comes to collect only he doesn’t want the money, he wants Riley. Riley is nineteen and an innocent bystander to her father’s gambling habits, but when Niko comes for her she becomes torn between her feeling of fear and lust for the big handsome loan shark. The sparks fly between the pair from the start, and when Nico finally has his way with Riley, it’s everything he’s ever wanted. Will Riley be able to stay with the man who took her from her family?
