These stories cover the breadth of the solo female traveller experience in Latin America. Anything you can imagine, the good, the bad and the trancendent, is written here in the pages of Alone Together, but at the heart of it is a passion for this incredible continent that is full of surprises and heartwarming hospitality.
This is a great book for those who have already been there, those who want to go and for those armchair travellers who thrive on lush, vivid descriptions of far-flung places.

Inspiring stories
I enjoyed the variety of travel stories of women who found that solo traveling led them to deeper understanding of the culture in which they found them and, more importantly, an expanded self understanding.

Wow. These stories were so inspiring. I recently went backpacking through Europe and could really relate to a lot of the feelings that these women had. I’m honestly ready for my next adventure after reading this. Such an amazing book.

This is a really special collection that reminds us of the thrills and challenges of getting out of one’s comfort zone. At times light-hearted, at other times it makes uncomfortable reading as it doesn’t whitewash the reality of going it alone in this complex continent. But the rewards of the effort are clear in the passion with which these women write about Latin America.
