Lawyer Jason Justice is living the high life in Palm Beach, Florida. He enjoys classic cars, beautiful women, and waking every morning on his luxury yacht.
Jason is indebted to his rich clients for his lavish lifestyle, but he’s not looking to take on another. Millionaire Milton Lowry, however, won’t stop hounding him about a meeting. At first, Jason thinks that Milton wants a divorce from his wife, real-estate developer Gabriela Lowry, but the old man’s ramblings make it sound like there’s something more sinister at work.
Before Jason can meet the man himself, he walks in on a mysterious assailant cleaning up what appears to be Milton’s gruesome murder! The killer knocks him out cold and gets rid of all the evidence before Jason can contact law enforcement. Now, Jason’s sure that Milton’s been murdered, but no one believes him. Jason will have to rely on his own detective skills, his network of contacts, and a little bit of luck if he wants to find out what really happened to Milton and make the perpetrators pay. It turns out that Milton isn’t the only missing person in Palm Beach, and the killers have set a sinister plan in motion.

I would give this three stars IF there weren't so many grammatical and other corrections. I find it extremely hard to believe that the editor, who the author praises in the acknowledgements, even took a peek at the Kindle version of this novel. Words appear that have no meaning, and some words that are needed don't appear at all. Really almost every second page begs a correction. I found it very tiresome.

As for the other star, the story was fine, though a bit formulaic. It was an otherwise easy, quick read that passed the time, even though my time could have been better spent reading a better book. If you are just getting into mystery reading, and are far younger than I, then you might really enjoy this novel.

“Dead Wrong” by Ralph Zeta is the second book in the Jason Justice mystery series about a divorce lawyer turned murder investigator.

Justice, divorce lawyer extraordinaire, loves his current lifestyle of living on a yacht, drinking, and beautiful women. He has no intention of changing this or seeking out dangerous cases. An unexpected phone call from millionaire Milton Lowry however, will change his life forever. Assuming that Lowry wants a divorce from his “controlling” wife, and with very little information to go on, Justice makes the trek to Lowry’s old run-down farmstead to find out the reasons behind all the secrecy. Lowry is a well respected figure in the community as a philanthropist, real estate developer and world traveler. His wife Gabriela Benitez married Lowry for his money as a way to get out of her financial difficulty.

As Justice arrives at the neglected farmhouse, he discovers the front door ajar – his first clue he should leave, and leave fast. Receiving no answer from his call out to Lowry, he encounters rasping sounds as if someone is struggling to breath. He sees a senior man being strangled by someone decked out in camouflage, using a garrote to silence him. Before Justice can take any action, a sharp blow to the back of his head leaves him unconscious. Local Sheriff Powell is having a hard time believing Justice’s account as there is no evidence of a murder at the farmhouse. The biggest question being, “How do you figure into all this Mr. Justice?”

Zeta does an excellent job of capturing the reader’s attention from the very first page. As each character with a motive to kill Lowry comes forth, the author's vivid descriptions incite speculation and assumptions about who did the “deed.” Zeta characters will invoke strong opinions from his readers, who will end up either loving or hating the potential murder suspects.

The authors writing style draws readers in with the complex plot twists, along with the detailed thoughts and experiences of each character, and how they present those behaviors and thoughts to others. His narrative gives readers the opportunity to involve themselves in the investigation as they try to figure out who gains most from Lowry’s death.

What most drew me into the story was how Jason steps out of his comfort zone to explore different options and reevaluate his profession. For me as a reader, that shows great character development, as he is willing to grow both in his inner-self and profession.

“Dead Wrong” by Ralph Zeta is a fast-paced, intriguing story that you won’t be able to put down. At 326 pages this is a thrilling read, as each character and their motives provide unexpected revelations and dark secrets one would expect from a good mystery. I highly recommend this murder mystery.

This has a decent story and I stayed interested throughout. It was a little out there, but not excessively. It was a fast read and overall I enjoyed the story. 4 out of 5 stars.

What did drive me nuts and knocked off a star - the ridiculous amount of spelling and grammar errors. My favorite was when a character exclaimed "holly cow!". And one character was named Klein except about 25% of the time, he was called Kline. And the spelling would flip flop in adjacent sentences. There also were a lot of times where a word like "a" or "the" was missing. The book needs a thorough editing.

Book starts out grabbing you, making you wonder if this lawyer isn't crazy with what he saw. Good story line, and the characters all flowed well together. I feel that a little more should have been explained as to why the one character did it. It kind of was left to the assumption of the reader. Overall, it was a fast paced read. I would look at reading more in this series. I was given a free copy from the publisher/author in exchange for my honest review.

I won this book in a goodreads drawing.

Lawyer Jason Justice is called to a meeting at an isolated farmhouse by a potential client. He gets there just in time to see the client murdered. He's knocked out and when he wakes up, the client is gone, and so is the client's car, and all traces.

This begins a Florida mystery, that could be crazier.
