Once more, with feeling
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Jen Katemi's hero is an Aussie billionaire software developer, playboy extraordinaire, man-about-town. He's also a former geek, a high-school nerd named Riley Jackson who fell in love with fellow student Kallie Smith, when they were 18 and inexperienced. Post-school opportunities took him to the US, then on to fame and fortune, leaving Kallie behind. Kallie had a darker and rougher life, lost her best friend to drugs, cleaned up her act, and went on to found a successful non-profit dedicated to drug abuse education. She goes to see Ryley Jaxx to regain the funding his corporation withdrew from her non-profit, and discovers her old high-school friend/flame. Kallie and Riley discover that the flame never truly went out, and rekindle their romance - until the drug business intrudes and drives them apart. This second time around, however, Riley and Kallie are 30 year olds, sadder and wiser in the ways of the world. It's a great short read, a sexy and sweet love story, and a cautionary fable about the temptations that come with achieving your dreams. My only (very minor) quibble: the dialogue is a bit stilted in spots. Other than that, it's a lovely little book.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This book is about Kallie and Ryley. She runs a non-profit called Impact which is a drug education agency and is meeting a long-time donor, Ryley. She sees him on his yacht, but he is already quite late for his meeting. His PA finally brings her down and he is entertaining a young woman while meeting with her. She realizes he is actually a boy she went to school with and they lost their virginity's to each other on a beach long ago...He left for the U.S. soon after and they lost touch. Ry sends the other woman away and they talk. She informs him that his Director of Philanthropy had dropped funding and was asking him to reconsider. He didn't realize Gavin had done that and promised to look into the situation. She figured was a lost cause and left, knowing the man he was now was not the same young man filled with enthusiasm and hope...Ryley felt disgruntled after Kallie left, thinking he should rejoin party, but not feeling like it. He does have his PA make contact with Kallie to ask her for dinner that weekend which she refuses...but you will have to read the book to see if her first love, Riley Jackson is still hidden in the gaming software billionaire, Ryley Jaxx...

Ryley and Kallie were each other's firsts. But, things happened and they've been apart for years. Until now, when Kallie's meeting the now billionaire to ask him to keep funding her drug education program.
I liked Tempt. It's sweet, it's sexy, and both Kallie and Ryley are likable, interesting characters, especially Kallie. However, Tempt is too short to offer much in the way of relationship or character development. I think there was a lot of potential here for a great second chance romance, it's just because of the short timeline, neither of them, nor their relationship, was given enough to time to progress naturally and organically into something believable and exciting. Still, because I liked the premise, and the characters, I couldn't rate it any lower.

Kallie and Ryley were best friends and first time lovers while they were in high school and then life happened and they did not seen each other many years. Kallie is the developer of the "Impact Program" educating young teenagers and families about drug addiction and treatment. Ryley is CEO of "Jaxx Industries", a billionaire playboy. When they meet again sparks fly and they find themselves making love to each other. However life did not work out as planned when his company is implicated in drug importation and to protect Kallie's organisation they are forced to keep away from each other. This is an intense love story with an eventual happy ending set inMelbourne, Australia.

While initially I didn’t warm to Ryley, his hidden sense of honesty and innocence from youth eventually shone through to show the depth and devotion of his complex personality. Kallie has always had a heart of gold, determined to do what’s right and fight for her beliefs. But her re-acquaintance with Ryley tests the level of her endurance and her strength to fight long buried desires.
I thoroughly enjoyed Tempt, and while it was a short, fast read, it lacked nothing in the storyline or the impact circumstances had on our lead characters. Ryley and Kallie will have readers truly believing in the hope of HEA.

I quite enjoyed this book. I liked tha maturity of the characters, not so much in age but in action, and how they admitted their flaws and accepted them. So many times you read books where these type of actions or histories would be swept under the rug and ignored. Not so in "Tempt". I found it made the characters much more engaging and likeable and made me root for them even more.

This is such a beautiful second chance romance with no drama causing a huge rift between Ryley and Kallie. This is such a sweet story with two honest characters. I really enjoyed the book and is a lighter read.

Quick easy read about a second chance romance between high school sweethearts. Likable H/h that just fit together ;) Steamy chemistry! For a short read, the characters were well developed and the storyline was good. Read in about 2 hours and kept me engaged to the end.

This is a wonderfully sweet second chance at love story.
Childhood sweethearts Riley and Kallie went separate ways after school when Rileys software sold. Tragedy struck Kallie's life when her best friend overdosed and died and since then she has been trying to bring awareness to drug abuse.
They meet again when Kallie goes to find out about funding for her company from Ryley. The emotions and chemistry is still there and the love never died from all those years. But drama does affect them, but love does win .
Wonderful story, and great character growth.

This is the most exquisite story I ever read. I felt the throb of emotions so deep it was like a vein. Young love started and was suddenly torn away; just to reinvent itself into the true maturity of love everlasting. Now, who wouldn't desire something as unique as that? The perfect story. 5 STARS!

Riley was in love with Kallie whilst they were at school but, at 18 years of age, they were both inexperienced. He left Australia to go to the US and he's changed in so many, many ways. Kallie needs funding for her non profit charity and comes to Riley for help but he sees his first and only love and he now isn't going to let her go till he haves her. Forceful and yet sweet. Sexy and yet caring and protective. I loved the way they were together when their barriers were done and really enjoyed this story!

I liked the story of Ryley and Kallie. It was sweet. The only real problem I had with it was its lack of character development. For a fast read like this one I expect it to be less story more sex. That was not the case with this story, which is fine. I do not read just for the sex scenes. I prefer a fulfilling story with characters that I can become emotionally invested in. That just did not happen here. There was to much left unsaid and I just had to take to much of a leap of faith without the character development to warrant it. I give it 3 1/2 stars because I did like the story, it just had so much more potential that was not reached.

Ryley talks her into a dinner date and sends money to support Impact, her program. What happens next, no one expected ! This is a love story that ended early and then picked up years later when Ryley and Kallie reconnect. This book does have a good ending.

I really liked this sweet second chance billionaire romance. Ryley and Kallie fell in love in high school but opportunities had them following separate paths. Ryley is now a billionaire playboy but can Kallie convince him to help continue funding her program? I liked the story and the characters it is definitely an entertaining read with great characters. Just wish it was longer. A good read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this quick short read by Jen Katemi about two people from two different lifestyles finding a second chance at romance in their lives. It had just enough sexy hotness in it to touch the erotica emotion of the reader. This is a very very late voluntary review of this book that I received from booksprout.com.

I liked this story about Kallie and Ryley. I was hoping they would get together again, once I found out they were together when they were young. I finished this book in a few hours. I look forward to reading more from Jen.
