Threading his fingers through mine, I spoke softly. "If you will accept me as your mate, you will never be alone again.”
Hector is an exotic alpha shifter - a jaguar from the jungles of Belize. He arrives in Mills Creek seeking his formerly betrothed mate only to find himself embroiled in the rogue war. All the local bear shifters will die without Hector’s empathic gift, a legacy that has passed through his family from ancient times.
Sweet, lonely Drew is an omega bear shifter who dreams of leaving his small town and traveling the world. If only he had the means and a mate to share the experience with him.
Hector and Drew must find their way together while the leaders of The Den and The Lodge merge together to battle a common villainess that seeks to destroy them all.
This is the fifth book of the Northern Pines Den series. This book is 35k and guaranteed to have an HEA. It's advised to read the series in order for maximum appreciation. 18+ readers only please! And yes, this book contains M/PREG, adults adulting in sexy “knotty” ways, and way more than the occasional use of potty mouth language! Caution: contains extremely violent scenes and gory death as the pack war finally comes to an end.
I'm a total fan of M/PREG Paranormal Romances, first and foremost as a reader. I'm excited to share my own omegaverse(s) with you. What's not to love about adorable Omegas and the Alpha men who love them? If I'm not writing about men sporting baby bumps, I'm definitely reading about them!
I'm a native of Las Vegas, NV, so I'm pre-wired to love everything weird ~ although I don't find any kind of love to be weird. I'm a cis woman who's been happily married to the same lovable lug for 18 years. We have a 16yr old son, well, at least I think we do? Either that, or we have a ghost that eats all our food and uses up all wifi playing xbox while screaming into a headset.
As a new author, it's been amazing to find the amount of support that I've been given from readers and my fellow authors. Feel free to message me, I love to chat with fellow readers. Am I a reader? Heck yeah! In fact, I'm never certain that I can completely trust an author who isn't a fellow bibliophile.
I will try to update here when I'm doing promotional parties & chats. I usually do those on Facebook. If you haven't already signed up for my newsletter, you should totally do it! I only send out NL's to announce new releases or important announcements. I also like to note in my NL what I'm currently reading along with a cover shot and the link for anyone who is interested.
This rating was given because I liked to fated mate pairing of Drew and Hector.
We still had editing problems but the sub story of the "first families" was very interesting and finally the alpha bitch is dead. It would be great if we could jump 20 years and see Frankie's and Hector's son's stories. That's four more books right there. Hint! Hint! But she would need to hire an EDITOR ASAP.
I was thrilled to see a jaguar shifter return to the series in the fifth book, Alpha’s Redemption. Hector is like a big daddy taking care of everyone in the pack, but dayum he’s a fine dirty-talker! And sweet, sweet Drew has a naughty side that I loved.
an audiobook copy of Alpha's Redemption was provided to me for the purpose of my review
This rating is truly just an "okay", my personal level of enjoyment (not necessarily what other fans may think) and not saying that the writing or editing is bad. That out of the way, I have to say that there were things that just didn't work for me in this installment. The last book introduced us to the concept of the "original families" whose descendants have glowing eyes and special powers. I like to read fantasy books so I thought this touch was interesting. However in this book Hector not only tells many people the big closely guarded secret (after the hush-hush emphasis of the last book), he also goes on and on in an attempt at worldbuilding that falls flat for me. I think that part of this was to try and legitimize the idea of female alphas, which had also been addressed in the last book. My biggest problem with this book though was that Hector's big gift is supposed to be empathy. Empathy is the ability to know and/or feel other people's emotions. What Hector demonstrates is prophesy, plain and simple. I also was irritated that at some points that Hector would speak as if English was not his native language, using sort of formal speech with no contractions, then he would come out with slang or idiomatic words and phrases like "grown ass alpha" and "podunk". The author does warn of gore and death in the blurb and I did find some aspects of the big battle not only violent but gruesome, but it's fairly quick. I must mention the fact that, unlike most of Susi's works, the proofing and overall editing is good. There is some light kink and even with my really vanilla tastes it was very mild, so it may not feel very kinky to others. There is also copious sex in the book (yum). There was no immediate indication of any next character or couple the way there usually is, making me wonder if the author planned to either spin off, jump generations (we now have plenty of kids, including ones from two original families), or create another series entirely. I'm really ready to move on from the bears, having liked the lodge ones so much better and really loving the Hollydale Omegas series (her best writing). We could always return to the wolf lodge since they have been adding to their pack all this time and would have had ample time to build up possibilities for new couples. I will definitely continue to read Susi, hoping that the bears were just not my thing, and that I will like what comes next.
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow- Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the at he kids' series from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or 'Liberty' from Seth King), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey’s books) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times a year (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader, maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time- reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok). It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
" I know that you really did not just compare your majestic jaguar mate to a common house cat."
This is the conclusion to he war between the bear and wolf clan against Yvonne. We meet hector a jaguar who was promised to Diego turn up at the den, he's not after Diego but to make sure he's well after there father's scheme when he encounters drew a lonely bear desperate for a mate, kids and travel. This is there story and the upcoming events to the war were Hector is instrumental in the downfall of Yvonne as well as with help of Frankie. I like that we are finally seeing the first families of shifters and learning there magicks but that the author has left it open to explore this in or start a new series. I like drew and hector they were sweet together and to see the bonds forming from past characters within the northern lodge books and northern pine den series come together. And not to forget our quirky aunt Kat makes a little appearance. Really enjoyed this series and the covers lovely too. Looking forward to more from this author.
THE NORTHERN LODGE PACK/THE NORTHERN PINE DEN/ THE BLOOD LEGACIES( CAN BE READ ON THEIR OWN EACH SERIES, BUT I STARTED AT THE END WITH BL FIRST NOW I CRAVE TO RE READ BL SINCE ITS THE BEGAN SO WORTH RE READ. Neat that theirs 13 founding families plus 13 alphas/omega's from the wolf lodge/the bear den
I love the balence of other worldliness.that bring each character to life . I adore how you mix in match each couple i kind would have like to see male/ female'/male as well i kinda wish that the life span would include all of the good guys that books have as heros
Once again the author introduces a new character from the same village in Belize that the other Jaguars have come from. Initially his arrival causes anger, fear, and outrage. But as soon as his purpose is revealed and his fated mate is scented he is suddenly a welcome guest at the shifter B&B and the Northern Pines Den.
In this book Susi Hawke continues to do world-building regarding the origins of shifters and the special powers passed down through certain Omega & Alpha lines. The new Jaguar speaks of dire prophecies that will befall Den members.
Luckily the combined and cooperative forces of the Den and Pack members make certain there is a different outcome.
I wasn’t expecting to get a book from Hector! But I thoroughly enjoyed this one!
Character breakdown;
Hector: I adored this man! He was arrogant and self assured but not in a “I want to slap him” kind of way and it made me like him plenty! He was a great spin on the typical alpha.
Drew: I didn’t know what to expect from him but he wasn’t all that memorable to me. He was lovely just not great.
I liked the conclusion of this series, it went the way I expected it too. And I appreciated the twist of the magical powers involved.
If you like shifters with some lineage this is the series for you!
Five stars are not enough for this book. I don't even know how to put what I am feeling in writing. This book gave me so many feels I lost count. This is the last book of two series, Northern lodge pack with Kai and Jake to the magical first families Jag Hector and Dylan whose mating not only continued this magical species but ended a war that saved many lives. Where is was a beautiful ending but I will miss both groups, even Aunt Kat =)
I'm giving 4.5 stars for this book. I loved Hector and Drew. This is also the conclusion to the main plot for this series and it was great. Since these books are so short, you don't get mad details. I think this is one of the few books I would have loved more length to the book to have more of written epic conclusion. It was done a little fast and with not enough detail for me. I gave 4.5 stars for the characters mainly, since they were one of my favorite of the two series.
I've read and loved the whole series, this book was no different. I laughed then would get teary eyed then laugh some more. I loved Drew and his"sexy talk" Hector was absolutely perfect for him. I hope to get updates on how everything goes! Would definitely recommend any of Susi Hawke's stories!
Another great add to the series. Hector and Drew are so damn adorable! Hector is full of surprises that I can't say because it will be a spoiler but it is fantastic. Drew is sweet and only wants to explore life, see the world and no way of getting out of his small town. Enter in his perfect mate who can give him everything he could ever need. Can't wait for the next and to read the new spin-off.
Alpha jaguar Hector visits Liam’s Bed and Breakfast to check up on Diego. While he’s there, he finds his fated mate in bear omega Drew. The Rogue war has heated up and magical secrets are revealed. This book is set up for the next spin-off series.
Overall Rating: 3.25 Stars. Fast plot, sexy characters, fluff, babies, and victory.
Drew's move to the B&B to help Frankie and Liam proves to be more than just a change of pace. Hector's appearance gives Drew the love and home he's always craved. There is a bit of light spanking and sexy underthings that I didn't expect from sweet Drew. Luckily Hector's so very on board for it all. There is plenty of action as things with the evil Yvonne come to a head.
So I was wondering what the author would put in this book to keep it interesting, and what do we get a Big Cat Daddy😝😝😝 True to the rest of the series this is an amazing read, Hector and Drew have sexiest, kinkiest relationship in the series.
Short, sweet, sexy read. Hector and Drew were cute and so funny... add in a dash of kink to the sexy times and I loved them. Just a bit of drama and action and this story was perfect. Cant wait for the next in this series or the spin-off. Susi Hawke never dissapoints.
Loved it! OMG! Drew's birthing is one that I'll never forget, it was great. . You have too be how Mik just calmly, took care of the crazy alpha b****. Great ending to this series.
The alpha Redemption was a very good book I enjoyed reading it
I gave this book a 5-star rating I enjoyed everything about it the battle against the siblings and how the Omega and the alpha special powers help to save their tribes
i wish that the end battle had been more epic then it was, but whatever... i still love these books. the characters in both series all have their own personalities and are amazing. i love seeing how they all come together from the wolf pack to the bear den and every shifter in between.

Ding ding the witch is dead!!! I'm so happy for Hector and Diego. I admit I was a lot nervous when I realized who Hector was but so glad it worked out in the end. Are we at the end of another wonderful series?
Her death was almost anticlimactic. I would have liked a bigger battle. I've started the Blood Legacy Chronicle so I've seen some of the kids grown up and finding their own mates, but, it's nice to see their dad's meeting.
Another great story in the Northern Pines saga. Well developed characters mixed with love, anguish, and humor make this a great series. I hope it will continue. This installment needed better editing or I would have given it five stars.
The best of the series so far! This one ties everything together and opens new doors for this story-line. Hector is very sympathetic and Drew is feistier than I would have imagined based on his introduction in the last book.
