GST Unpacked: Beyond the jargon

Rate this book
The Goods and Services Tax (GST) rolled out across India on July 1, 2017, marking one of the most transformative events in indirect taxation the country has so far seen. But what does that mean? Why has the whole country become engrossed with something as mundane as tax? Why has GST become as important to a person buying a burger as it has to a multinational corporation looking to do business in India? This short book seeks to answer all of these questions, and then some. Providing a complete view of GST, this book is ideal for those seeking to understand this new buzzword.

a superbly balanced short 50-odd page book that goes into the history of the GST story in India, gives short specifics of its current implementation, and a hard-hitting 3-paragraph international comparison. A short but information loaded book - must read for Business Professionals, Employees and students alike...

It's a good book for beginners with no financial background to understand the salient features of GST. Not for an advanced user though.

A basic but sufficient high-level overview of the GST - initial idea, variants proposed over time, current form and critique and appreciation of implementation details.
