Harry Flynn is back!
Courage is a finite resource, and Harry Flynn has been running on empty for many weeks. First there was the Spanish mission, then the operation against the Irish American organised crime syndicate in New York. Two dangerous assignments which almost cost Flynn his life. At last, his superiors at Department Seven, the top secret wartime British assassination and sabotage bureau, have acknowledged that their best agent must be removed from active service for a period of rest and recuperation before he burns himself out completely. However, D7's caseload of operations is such that, before he is allowed to rest, they have no choice but to order Flynn on one last job.
The Director of Department Seven is aware that to charge Flynn with yet another 'red file' job - the toughest of all D7 assignments - will perhaps prove too much, yet the urgency of the mission dictates that Flynn be deployed once again. Flynn is dispatched to the Caribbean. His mission, to disrupt Axis submarine operations in that theatre of war. If he succeeds, he will strike a blow from which the enemy will have great difficulty recovering. If he fails, it will cost the lives of many allied merchant seamen. Department Seven is gambling that Flynn has enough left in him to complete his task, but the person taking the biggest gamble of all is Harry Flynn himself.....
