A SUMMER PRESCOTT BOOKS HOLIDAY BOXED SET!!! Six of your favorite authors from Summer Prescott Books have written original, never-before-published Holiday cozies to keep you warm this season!! Scheduled for Release on Thanksgiving Day 2017!!!
Summer Prescott is well-known in the Cozy Mystery realm, having written and published several Best-Sellers in the genre. An avid reader of Thrillers, Horror and Suspense, the author has decided to follow her passion with the debut of her Thriller, The Quiet Type, which launched in the top 50 of the Serial Killer category on Amazon. The novel has received high praise in its reviews, and Summer is considering a possible trilogy or series to continue the story.
I thoroughly enjoyed this boxed set of six cozy mysteries!
CHRISTMAS REUNION KILLER By Summer Prescott
This is a wonderful new novella that I hope fans will push to be made into a series. Avery moves back home to Champaigne, Illinois, after divorcing her cheating husband. She meets back up with some old school friends and winds up finding a dead body. I like that there is an almost insurmountable amount of suspects as it makes it harder to figure out who the culprit is. Avery's job title alone makes her one of the suspects. I can see where this would make an excellent series just by the ending alone!
CAROLS AND KILLERS By Patti Benning
Poor Autumn is finding out that bad things really do come in threes. It just doesn't seem to be her week. As the holidays approach, she finds herself helping out in the kitchen in the assisted living home where her aunt and uncle live. A place where someone appears to be sabotaging the cooks.
SPICY CHRISTMAS MURDER By Carolyn Q. Hunter
Margo is the owner of The Spicy Senora, a store/factory of different types of hot sauces. It is close to Christmas and she is looking forward to closing up shop until the new year. She, her daughter and future son-in-law are headed up to the cabin for the rest of the season. The author has done a fabulous job with this novella and it has a lot to keep your attention, including a murder. I hope it becomes a new series. I have never read a book where the main character has this type of job.
DEATH THE HALLS By Karoline Barrett
Grace and Kate are middle-aged twin sisters who own Black Cat Books. They have the cutest little black mascot cats, Emily and Charlotte. Tragedy enters their lives when a good friend is found murdered in their store. I loved this novella and think it is great enough to be a series.
COLORADO CHRISTMAS KILLER By Jenna St. James
Two first-grade teachers from Kansas City, Missouri, decide to go on a skiing retreat in Colorado over Christmas vacation to help one of them escape her feelings from a breakup with her boyfriend of one year. They begin to become suspicious of the roommates they are assigned and their vacation becomes big-time scary. I have to admit, I wouldn't want to go through a Christmas trip like this one!
WINDSWEPT SNOWS By Donna Walo Clancy
This is a very good novella, but not very uplifting. Still, I would give it 5 stars. It is a story with many secrets that need to be told. It takes place over the Christmas holidays where the man of the mansion is found murdered. The housekeeper leads the way in solving the mysteries to be learned here.
After a contentious divorce from her cheating husband Avery returns to her hometown to regroup and start over. After moving into her childhood bedroom Avery soon reconnects with friends from high school. Just as she finds herself feeling comfortable the unthinkable happens. One of her former classmates is murdered and Avery becomes the focus of the police investigation. This book introduces us to new characters from Summer Prescott. Avery is a mystery writer from Champaign, Illinois (so is Summer Prescott). It’s nice to have an author write about a setting they are familiar with rather than make up a fictional town. The plot is very interesting and keeps you thinking as you read. There are red herrings scattered throughout. You find yourself hoping the perpetrator is not one of the characters you like. I was wrong through the entire story. I hope we see these characters again. I enjoyed this book very much and recommend it.
Book 2 Carols and Killers by Patti Benning Autumn Roth is a single woman trying to find direction in life. In one week her world is turned upside down. With the support of her beloved Uncle Albert, Aunt Lucy and best friend Alicia she moves forward in her career and relationships. While visiting her aunt and uncle the retirement home cook dies. What initially appears to be a horrible accident soon becomes a murder investigation. I enjoyed the characters in this book. I would love to see them continue into a series. The story kept me engaged throughout the book.
Book 3 Spicy Christmas Murder by Carolyn Q. Hunter Margo Hanratty is a business owner in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Christmas is only days away and Margo is preparing to host a company Christmas party. She also has plans to leave town that evening with her daughter to celebrate at their cabin. They will be joined by her future son-in-law. Unfortunately Margo’s day begins with her employee and friend not showing up to the store for her shift. Margo had planned on using her morning in the factory completing end of the year paperwork and setting up for the warehouse party. Thankfully her daughter is able to come in early and work until the store closes. She is greeted by more unsettling news when her accountant shares with her his suspicion that someone is stealing product. When Margo and her daughter finally arrive at the cabin that evening they are greeted by a horror they never imagined. The setting will be familiar to readers of Carolyn Hunter’s Pies and Pages Mystery series, but the characters are all new. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and hope that it will become a series.
Book 4 Death the Halls by Karoline Barrett Twin sisters Grace and Kate own a lovely bookstore in Indiana. Black Cat Books also has a silent partner, an author from a nearby town. As Christmas approaches the sisters prepare for their annual Christmas Tea. Their partner Blake will be a surprise guest and play Santa Claus for the children. Tragedy strikes the evening before the tea and the sisters find themselves at the center of a murder investigation. Grace feels particularly targeted by her former fiance, the man she practically left at the altar, the lead detective on the case. I loved this book. The characters are interesting and well developed. The story moves at just the right pace and keeps you wanting more. There were also a few red herrings sprinkled about which keeps you guessing whodunit. This is another book I’d love to see continue as a series. One, because I live in Indiana, and two, because I love mysteries that revolve around bookstore. Karoline in a wonderful writer and brings her stories to life for the reader.
Book 5 Colorado Christmas Killer By Jenna St. James
Elementary school teachers, roommates and best friends Ophelia and Holly leave Kansas City for a Christmas trip to a Colorado ski resort. They are looking forward to relaxing and enjoying the holiday events at the resort. After a ten-hour drive the ladies meet their roomates in the condo they are sharing for the week, two librarians from Colorado Springs and two self-absorbed women from Denver. While the librarians seem relatable, the other women may test everyone’s patience. Within days of their arrival the woman are witness to a horrific tragedy. What appears to be an accident is soon determined to be a murder, and the six women are suspects. Could one of these women be a murderess? I enjoyed this book very much. The main characters were developed, and we had enough background information to consider most of them viable suspects. The setting was interesting and easy to envision. The action in the story moves right into the last chapter. I recommend reading this book. I love Jenna’s books and this is no exception.
Book 6 Windswept Shows By Donna Walo-Clancy
Billionaire Robert Bellington and his family have made their life in Colorado. They left the hustle and bustle of Silicon Valley for the quiet of the mountains. He and his wife Patricia have three children: Robert Jr., Vanessa, and Kimberly Ann. As Christmas approaches the family goes their separate ways to prepare for celebrating the holiday together. While Patricia and her children are in California celebrating with her mother, Robert is finishing work so he can take a few days off for the holidays. When trusted employee, Miss Lottie, finds a body behind the bar the lives of the Bellington family will be changes forever. This story is filled with secrets and deception. The characters are well developed. The setting is interesting since the story almost entirely takes place within the house. I enjoyed this book, but I think Donna’s other book that I’ve read are much better.

Enjoyed the book but did not find the stories to be mysterious enough. The endings were predictable well before reading the end of each book. I like books with a lot of suspense and ones that keep me hanging to the last page. These stories are not that way . If you are looking for relaxing reads that makes little demand of you then you would enjoy reading these books. Sometimes with a lot of stress such a read relaxes one's mind. I would read one, then book mark it on my Kindle...perhaps read a hard copy book in between, and then go onto the next story.
What a treat! Six cozy Christmas mysteries in this boxed set, each one written by an author represented by Summer Prescott Publishing. Although each of these authors have a series (or more), these stories are each stand alone and wonderful!

I was given this book in return for an honest review. This book was wonderful! All of your favorite Summer Prescott authors wrote these short stories and the only problem I see is that I want to see more of these characters. They are all new and unrelated stories to the already established series. Each story was creative and fun. The holidays really got a new twist this year. The collection was well done and I loved every page of it. Hopefully this will be a new tradition for Summer Prezcott Books.
The stories were okay but not above average. Formatting was poor and made them more difficult to read. Drop cap at the beginning of each chapter covered part of the words, lines were spaced too far apart and couldn't be adjusted.
Six awesome Christmas cozies by six of the best authors in the genre. If you're in the mood for Christmas with some mystery thrown in this set is perfect. Perfect gift idea too. I loved them all.
I really enjoyed this compilation of writers. I loved each story. Avery in the first story would be a great cozy series. Each one of these books would be great as a cozy series. Thank you all for great writing.
I just love all of these authors so I knew this set would be awesome. They did not disappoint. I enjoyed every word. A couple of them really kept me guessing.
This was a light cozy mystery series. The books were a quick read and had an interesting variety of murder mysteries. You could usually figure everything out before the end of the book, but it was still entertaining.
