The decades long conflict comes crashing to a dramatic conclusion as the alliance faces off with their age old enemy to determine the fate of the galaxy. As the massive fleet launches for a final battle, The Behemoth and The Crystal Font are tasked with a dangerous mission to destroy a transmission facility which may well be the deciding factor in the outcome of the attack.
They’ve committed everything, heading into a situation which may well spell their end. Pilots, marines and crewmen alike look toward the moment that will make history regardless if they are victorious. A win means peace for the beleaguered alliance, a chance to heal from the wounds of war while a loss could lead to the destruction of their respective cultures if not civilization as they know it.

Finally the last of the 10 book box set. A good space saga with the exception of a lack of proofing in some of the later books. Earth is saved from an invading culture and faced total destruction except for the arrival of help from a alliance of other space fairing races. The earth with the help of the alliance builds a massive battle ship and joins the alliance where they are involved in a number of fights against pirates and a rogue alliance captain set on setting himself up as the head of the whole alliance. The saga terminates with the alliance's do or die attack on the initial attackers who were out to eliminate a other cultures it came across. I would have gone for 4 stars except for the proofing problems.
Holy... I don't even know what to say about this one.
It started off like the rest of the series, Average. But it really improved in the last half of the book. So many of the characters I didn't even know I cared about died during the final battle. It actually made me feel the emotion of their loss. Having just finished the book that's the only real thing I can think about, this is probably the best book in the entire series. And honestly, it was worth reading the previous nine to get this ending (imo).

Loved the characters, but as he extended the series, he kept adding characters. After three or four books, I got tired of keeping up with them and skimmed those parts to read what was happening with the main characters. Enjoyed the series, but wouldn't want to read it again....or anything written like these. Can't enjoy the plot because of all the details!
The last in the ten book series. A fireplace battle to end one of two forces, the bad or the good forces! Detailed battle planning and action during which you won't put the book down! Who makes it and who doesn't will be surprising. Read the book to find out if your favorite characters made it through.
This covers all ten books and what can I say but a great read. Fast past but also informative so you kept up with the plot. There is a lot happening and not all the major characters survive so it is kept real. For any sci-fi adventure fan this is a good series to read.
Excellent combat action throughout the entire story...as well as sacrifice...the ending was predictable...however it was still an enjoyable read as well as the entire series.
Good narrative, but another one that doesn't know the difference between ordinance,as in a law, and ordnance as in weaponry. Then the annoying trick of missing the climax and putting in an epilogue instead. Lazy writing. Do they have an AI teaching them that?
An excellent ending but a great start for our next adventure. The earth forces have avenged themselves but now where are they in the grand picture of the universe. Book 11 will hold the explanation!
The plot is super solid and the characters are now more a part of the story than events. It's over but....I bet there could be more. I for one will be getting other of John Walker's works. Great author.
Very engaging and fast paced stories packed with constant action and strongly defined characters. Each book seems quite short but once you start reading the first you pulled into the whole series of books quickly.
I enjoyed reading the entire series. I do wish that they searched a little harder for their missing personel., escape pods should not burn in the atmosphere.
Edge of your seat stuff! Few technical issues, like no redundancy to the control station? The action is great. Some of the improvements made in past books missed this one...
This a well written old style Space Opera. I enjoyed the characters, the good guys, the bad guys and the one between. I am curious to see where this is going in the future. A lot of loose ends to resolve.
