Enid Mary Blyton (1897–1968) was an English author of children's books.

Born in South London, Blyton was the eldest of three children, and showed an early interest in music and reading. She was educated at St. Christopher's School, Beckenham, and - having decided not to pursue her music - at Ipswich High School, where she trained as a kindergarten teacher. She taught for five years before her 1924 marriage to editor Hugh Pollock, with whom she had two daughters. This marriage ended in divorce, and Blyton remarried in 1943, to surgeon Kenneth Fraser Darrell Waters. She died in 1968, one year after her second husband.

Blyton was a prolific author of children's books, who penned an estimated 800 books over about 40 years. Her stories were often either children's adventure and mystery stories, or fantasies involving magic. Notable series include: The Famous Five, The Secret Seven, The Five Find-Outers, Noddy, The Wishing Chair, Mallory Towers, and St. Clare's.

According to the Index Translationum, Blyton was the fifth most popular author in the world in 2007, coming after Lenin but ahead of Shakespeare.

We're so happy you read "Joe & The Magic Snowman" by Enid Blyton. This magical story teaches us about the power of kindness, bravery, and the magic that comes from believing in something greater than ourselves. It shows that even in the coldest moments, warmth can be found in the acts of kindness we do for others.

A new idea you learned is the importance of helping and being kind to others, even when it's not the easiest choice. Just like Joe helped the Magic Snowman, you can use this lesson by being a friend to those in need, standing up for what's right, and spreading kindness wherever you go. This will not only make others feel loved but will also fill your heart with joy.

Remember, Qamar, your actions, no matter how small, can make a big difference in the world. Your kindness is like magic that can change someone's day for the better.

Love,
Mom and Dad

Another short read at just under 100 pages. Beautifully illustrated throughout. Joe finds himself lost in a cold, wintery and snowy world with a very unpleasant, controlling snowman. Will his friends and moon face be able to find him and bring him back home? Also includeds the story of goldilocks and the three bears. A fun, easy read. A well deserved four stars. Highly recommend this series for all young readers.
