Make no mistake, this book is worthy of five stars. It is a very compelling read with a wide array of vicious women living during various decades and living on different continents. The writing is just as good or, in some cases better, than previous volumes in Keller’s many series. So why the three stars on my review? Because I have read more than half of the eighteen tales presented here in his other books. He has poached on his own preserves in the past, but this was a little too much. Had there been some notice given the many stories are reprints, all would have been aboveboard. But I was unhappily surprised. Keller has now published seventy True-Crime books so he has a quite a deep depository to draw from. However, I have read over thirty of his books and read another two or three titles each month. Repeats will be noticed by his many ardent followers.

Fans of the Investigation Discovery flagship series of the same name--though no relation beyond that as far s I know-- and/or of Oxygen's Snapped will find this series by Robert Keller to be a decent if unofficial companion set to have and review many of these notorious cases. My only issue, echoing that of others, is that many of Keller's accounts appear word-for-word in his other series such as Murder Most Vile(which I also highly recommend). Even if you don't watch the aforementioned series, this is still a great series for true crime addicts. Wonder what Candace de Long and Janis Amatuzio think.

Femme fatales to keep you company

This interesting and informative book will make known to you some females you'll be glad you never met. Shockingly, some of them were harmless-appearing senior citizens. Imagine if you learned that your dear old aunty was putting thallium in her home-baked cookies.

Then we have the nurturing mothers who killed their children. If you were shocked by Diane Downs and Andrea Yates, wait until you read about Theresa Cross.

Keller's books are killer

This prolific author writes fascinating anthologies of obscure crimes from all different eras and countries. I love his style. This is by far my favorite series of his followed by the "Murder Most Vile" books of which there are now forty something.
