Vegas Top Guns #5

Bare Knuckle

Rate this book
After a near-fatal plane crash, fighter pilot Captain Eric “Kisser” Donaghue is a changed man. By day he labors to regain his confidence in the cockpit. By night he moonlights as an off-Strip boxer, fighting for prize money to pay for his younger brother’s third stint in rehab.
In the ring, no one cares he once had a face that launched a thousand one-night stands—and neither does Eric. He’s only there to win. Yet he can’t take his eyes off the new ring girl, a glitz-meets-pageant-queen vision of blonde perfection.
Down on her luck but not quite out, Vegas showgirl Trish Monroe lives for the spotlight. The scarred, steely-eyed loner who stares at her from his corner of the ring gives Trish an extra reason to strut her stuff.
Curiosity and the temptation of a no-strings good time bring them together. The discovery of their secret fetishes—she likes to show off, he likes to watch—turns mere sexual chemistry into a fiery exploration of matched passions. They’re a natural fit. Trust in love, however, is harder to earn than trust in bed, especially when this beauty and beast hide even from themselves.

The best book of this series! This story will stay with me for a long time.
I loved reading this book and finished with a big old satisfied sigh. The kind where I knew I had a ring-seat to a romance and the buildup of a relationship that was quite unique. Yes, there are movies made on the love life of a showgirl, of a woman who is on the brink of poverty but has to gloss over all that to put on the best show possible, there are stories written about men who have to hide their true nature so deep because they lost something that gave them their uber-masculine image and therefore everything they thought that was attractive about them, but nothing is as good as the story of Trish and Eric. It was beautifully interwoven with the previous stories in this series, yet stood out completely for its believability and the fact that these two captured my attention and did not let go even once. Everything that happened from the some of the most erotic sex I have ever read, to the forces of family pulling these two apart, showed how well matched these two people were and that they did not just deserve each other but also a grand love. This was an exceptionally well written story that will stay with me for a long time, because although the characters entered the story as if on the edge of their own limitations, they ended up way more than that. It was beautiful to read and the best of this series of books. Kudos to Katie Porter for writing one of the richest romances I have read and for bringing their best in this last book of the series.

I did not like this.

Besides voyeurism and exhibitionism not being my kink, this book was even more PWP than the others and, given all the sex, I didn't understand where the love came into play. There was too much sex. Too much sex written in an over the top fashion.

Also, the dialogue and prose were weird at times, as if they'd been edited with pieces taken out and the gaps left unrepaired. There were some typos too, which leads me to think that this installment was a hurry job.

DNF at 37% for transmisogyny. Heroine makes a transmisogynist joke, hero laughs, I am done with them both, and with this queer romance that I was enjoying up til then.

4.5 STARS

I shouldn’t be surprised, I really shouldn’t because I have read and reviewed every one of Katie atruegemawardPorter’s Vegas Top Guns books and the writing duo once again has proven they are masterful writers. You get a little bit of everything in this book; light bondage, heavy duty exhibitionism and voyeurism, and some pretty hot and heavy F/F action. Being somewhat of a voyeur myself, this book absolutely fascinated me because our hero Eric Donaghue not only likes to watch, he likes to photograph something else I love doing. This story is complicated, kinky, and the main characters are really messed up but it’s also enthralling, engaging, and hopeful not to mention one heck of a thrill ride from start to finish.

Eric Donaghue was seriously injured in the last book in this series during a training mission. Months of rehab and he’s not back with his squadron but with his younger brother in rehab for the third time, he’s forced to box in unsanctioned fights for cash to pay for the treatment. He knows it’s a risk but it’s one he’s willing to take for abandoning his brother years ago. His life is nuts, and he’s relied on cheap and easy women to release the tension that surrounds him. When he meets ring girl Trish Monroe, he assumes she’s a plastic “Barbie” girl like all the rest. He soon finds out he underestimated the woman and she doesn’t let him forget it.

Trish Monroe was taught to use her looks to make money since she was a little girl. Her mother has never let her forget that she “owes” her because Trish ruined her body. For the most part Trish doesn’t mind her life; she enjoys being on stage and the center of attention with people admiring her but she longs for more and her college classes are showing her she’s smart enough to make it. When she meets Eric, she expects a one night stand and while she gets that she gets way more than she bargained for when they discover they both have kinks the other one would love to exploit.

Let me state flat out these are two ridiculously ‘effed up people. They’ve been dealt blow after blow and like the fighters they are they keep getting up and waiting for the next punch. They deal with it and move on so it’s no surprise when they decide after just meeting and feeling an instant spark to have a one night stand. Part of this comes from neither one of them thinking they deserve more and part because we see these are two very lonely people. The connection they have from the beginning is very evident and despite the fact that neither one will admit it; they connect on a much deeper level than they expected. When they figure out each other’s kink and how they complement each other, things get really interesting.

So as to not ruin the story I’m going to stop but suffice it to say these two battle job issues, physical trauma, messed up family relationships, well meaning friends, and some heavy duty insecurities. I was beginning to feel like I was in the middle of a battlefield and might not ever get out. That’s not a bad thing, but this book is complicated and the relationship was far from easy.

I really loved seeing all the players from the first four books and this book seemed to have finality about it, like it was the last in the series or at least this series as we know it. I hope not, but if this was the final book this series goes out on a very high note.

BEST BOOK OF THE SERIES

Captain Eric "Kisser" Donaghue fighter pilot, who also moonlights as a fighter meets down on her luck showgirl Trish Monroe, when she struts her stuff as a ring girl. Eric scarred from crashing his F16 certainly looks intimidating add in his caveman attitude you would think that Trish might be put off. But both of these two fit together each fulfilling the others fantasies.

This has to be my favourite of the series so far. Eric really did it for me. He's a man mountain with a hard as nails body. Trish is one of my favourite heroines, she's beautiful feisty but with a good heart. The chemistry between these two was off the charts, the sex was way hotter than I've read for a long time. I don't want to say more and give it away. But this is a great read.

For this to be the end of the series, it was a major let down for me. The first three books of this series were definitely the best, and it just seems like these final two were phoned in. I couldn't connect with Kisser at all, and Trish wasn't much better. I could at least appreciate her ambition and determination. With Eric though, it was just as closed off as Trish found it. The sex scenes didn't come off as steamy and loving for me, in fact they felt a little sleazy, which is not what I got used to from this author in the first three books. Every time I read this for any length of time, I wound up with a migraine. The ending was pretty well written, I must admit, but I think I may not revisit these for a while.

First book this year that I loved the h more than the H . She is cute and sassy . Eric was okay . Passable hero material . The worked at being together . Their relationship started out as a one night stand , went steady for some time , slowly picked up speed and took on a high crescendo and ended with a nice finish .
The was no unnecessary angst . Thanks to that .
Now this book pushed at my reading limits since it has F/F smexting .
The smexting between the h & H was very very burning hot and a lot of them occurred . It's was totally different kind of hotness read from my usual reads.

How I got this book: ARC from the author

After a near-fatal plane crash, fighter pilot Captain Eric “Kisser” Donaghue is a changed man. By day he labors to regain his confidence in the cockpit. By night he moonlights as an off-Strip boxer, fighting for prize money to pay for his younger brother’s third stint in rehab.

Curiosity and the temptation of a no-strings good time bring them together. Trust in love, however, is harder to earn than trust in bed, especially when this beauty and beast hide even from themselves.

Warning: This book contains a Sin City-style Beauty and the Beast love story, lots of naughty pics and vids, adrenaline-pumped base jumping, and a set of very important note cards. Oh, and as always, an incredibly hot fighter pilot.
This blurb came from the authors’ website.

I was introduced to Katie Porter with the first book of their Vegas Top Guns series Double Down and have remained a loyal reader since. With any series or author, some stories and characters I have enjoyed more than others but they have all moved or touched me in some way. Following the adventures in love, life, and kink of the rather tight knit fighter pilot crew has been a wild ride. As a result when I hit the last word on the last page of Bare Knuckle and realized that this was the end of my adventures with them I felt sad. Not because things were left unfinished or unresolved but because it meant I had to say good-bye to Vegas. Thankfully, it won’t be the end of my Porter-reading adventures because Club Devant is in mid-series and a new series The Boston Boys will start mid-2014.

I am not able to review this without some spoilers for previous books so if you haven’t read them and are spoiler adverse I advise you to stop reading now. Bare Knuckle takes place several months after the final events in Hard Way. Kisser has mostly recovered from his horrific crash but is still dealing with the physical scars, loss of confidence, fear of falling, and family issues. He has always been aggressive and ready to get in a fight at the drop of a hat but now his fighting has moved to a different level. While working towards his flight clearance, Kisser usually fights in an amateur boxing match at least once a week. He is there simply to win as quickly and efficiently as possible and take home the prize money to pay for some unexpected bills. While his accident changed several things for Kisser, he retained his appreciation for beauty. One night he spotted an attractive ring promotion girl talking to a few of the guys on her way to the ring so he initiated a brief conversation with her. They made tentative plans for him to find her when she was finished working for the night. They had a rather open conversation and he admitted that he enjoyed taking pictures, erotic pictures, but it was her choice if they included that or not.

Trish was having a really bad night. She learned that her primary job was ending and she was being fired by her agent after five years of never making the leap to prime time. In desperation, she asked one of the guys lining the path to the ring if he had some alcohol–he didn’t but another man, hooded like a fighter but minus the flash, glitter, and entourage, spoke up. He intrigued her enough that she decided to forgo the alcohol and meet him after she was finished working for the night. Trish’s entire life was training to be a Vegas star, from the childhood beauty pageants, the extreme diet, the auditions, the agent, the sleazy photo shoots, and the list went on. Thankfully, she enjoyed knowing that men were watching and admiring her but she had definite lines that she refused to cross. After learning about Kisser’s wish to take pictures of her and that she would not have the option to delete images that she didn’t like, she didn’t reject the possibility but wanted to get to know him better before she decided.

I enjoyed this story on several different levels. First, Porter writes extremely hot sex scenes. Even if I am not personally into whatever kink the characters enjoy I can still appreciate the heat, the care, and the intensity of the scenes. I also liked seeing how it was the quality of his framed photographs that mattered and that he didn’t need pictures to enjoy his partner. I thought his obvious enjoyment with the entire process and how he was able to get Trish to step out of her practiced fake shell and show her honest enjoyment and reactions was pretty intense.

Second, was their emotional back-story. Each started from almost nothing and continued to fight for their goals. They were both weighed down from family issues and preferred to keep that aspect separate from everything else even though it was a driving force behind their actions. The only time they were completely open was through the camera lens. Through the course of this story both Trish and Kisser hit rough spots personally and kept what they were facing away from each other, yet they shared their triumphs. It was this very inequality in sharing that led to a situation in which things looked doubtful for the two of them.

The third thing that I enjoyed about this book, which has been a constant throughout this series, is the theme of acceptance. Porter has explored a variety of kinks through these five stories and while in some instances one of the individuals isn’t comfortable with what they personally enjoy they were not shamed for that enjoyment. In this particular case, both knew what they liked and while it was different, their respective kinks were complimentary which also drastically increased the intensity of the scenes.

As I am sure you can tell I enjoyed this final installment of the Vegas Top Guns series. There was an incredibly sweet grovel scene that really sealed the deal. Then the final scenes I had to reach for a tissue because it was so very touching. Porter did a great job of finishing up this series on a high note with Bare Knuckle and leaving me eager to read their next work.

I give Bare Knuckle an A.

If I had read this book years ago when it was first published, I would almost definitely be giving it 4 stars. There are parts of the book that, at the time would have been very progressive, that in today's context are more akin to stereotypes. But, I can appreciate the effort the authors put into pushing the boundaries at that time.

The open door romance scenes are very well done and I thoroughly enjoyed the voyeur/exhibitionist dynamic. The book, especially the first half, is mostly spicy scenes. It does have a pretty good plot to follow, but I found some of the conversations between Trish and Eric to be unrealistic. The character development could have been better, more fleshed out, and there were times when it felt like they were having two different conversations. One character would ask a question and the answer given seemed out of place. I even thought about DNFing this book a couple of times, but those spicy scenes kept me going.

FTC: I am a massive fan of the series. Both authors working under this name have been on the blog multiple times but that didn’t influence my review.

I’m fricking devastated that this series is over. Yes, there are some quite frankly shocking scenes, and the kinks covered are certainly not for the faint of heart, but by God it’s been an awesome ride. This series has been one of the most erotic, twisted and compelling reads I’ve read in a long while. I could not put any of the instalments down once I picked them up and I defy anyone not to find at least one scene in the series that doesn’t send them running for the fridge door.

This is a story of voyeurism and exhibitionism. There are cameras, there is masturbation, there is FF and FFM sex and there is some down-right dirty talking throughout this panty-melting final instalment. With a physically scarred hero and a mentally scarred heroine, you know there is going to be some angst going on here. I was hooked from the second I saw them both in the boxing arena and I kept going straight through to the epilogue. It was a fantastic finale.

Let’s be honest, Eric has been a complete douche in this series. A cocky man-whore, he was well on his way to being top of my shit-list until the accident. Now he is scarred, traumatised man who is forced into underground boxing to pay for a rehab stint for his baby brother. Yeah, it’s getting that dark already. Then he meets Trish and his world gets a little topsy turvy. Not only does she not give a crap about his scars, she revels in his kink. You see, Eric likes to watch. And photograph. And film. His ultimate fantasy is to film a sex scene he has no part in and, as it turns out, showgirl Trish likes to be watched. It was a very clever move to give these two the careers that they have. It could have seemed like a stupid decision on her part but it wouldn’t ruin her career if her sex-ploits became public knowledge and it sure as hell would ruin his. I couldn’t make my mind up whether or not I pitied Eric. The former heart-throb was a shadow of his former self and the things that he said to Trish made my heart actually skip a beat. Of course, he is still capable of some classic a-hole moments, but I adored him by the end.

Trish was a tough cookie. Completely broken by her complete douche of a mother, she didn’t seem to think that she has much to offer other than her body. Constantly “barbied” up, she even turned up to a BBQ in complete party attire. I loved that she was trying her hardest to live up to her dream but it broke my heart that what little confidence she had was eroded by her only parent. When she was with Eric she seemed to become something different. She was confident, sexual and at ease and I honestly believed in her as a whole person. When she was in company, or with her mother, she seemed so broken. He was so darn good for her but he was also such a complete dipstick...I wanted to smack him upside the head.

The sex, oh my the sex. This series has some of the hottest sex scenes I have ever read and this one has taken the award. I think the FFM scene is possibly the sexiest scene in the entire series and I loved the whole vibe between them in it. There is a hell of a lot of dirty talk in this book and, in this particular scene, it sent my blood pressure through the roof. These authors certainly know how to tie their readers up in knots!

This is an amazing finale to an amazing series. With kinky hot sex, a brutally scarred hero and a heroine who just wants to be liked, there was so much literary flesh to get my teeth into, I thought I’d gone to angsty book heaven. I challenge you not to get hot and bothered by this book..I didn’t manage it!

Over the course of the five books in this series, I’ve come to expect something unexpected. Something hot. Something so erotic and unlike anything I’d read. Before starting Bare Knuckle I sat in my reading room and wondered what the brilliant minds behind the Katie Porter name would have in store for me this time. Would it live up to the hype in my head? Simply put…YES!

Scarred fighter pilot Eric is trying to reclaim his spot on his elite team. Coming back from a horrific crash has been nothing short of a miracle and yet he’s still having trouble moving on. His flying is different. He’s different. Moonlighting in the fighting ring affords him enough money to pay for his wayward brother’s detox treatment center but it also means his head isn’t totally in the game when he’s in the air. When he sees the new ring girl at one of his fights he instantly wants to know her. For one night.

When propositioned for a one night stand, struggling performer Trish instantly agrees. A sexual release is just what she needs after having all those eyes on her as she sashayed around the ring. When Eric offers to take erotic pictures of her Trish knows she should balk at the idea but instead it turns her on more than she thought possible.

Both Eric and Trish have some huge voyeuristic tendencies that they explore over the course of the book. These scenes were so erotically sexy that I’m sure it’ll take a long time before I find anything that will top it. There is some girl on girl action since Trish is bi-sexual but even that was so well done that I didn’t have trouble reading it….and lesbian scenes usually aren’t my thing.

Past all the erotic sex scenes Porter has woven a story about two beaten down people who find themselves at a crossroads. Trish is getting tired of strutting her body around on stage for such small pocket change and though she enjoys the attention she garners she wants to better herself and graduate from college so she can pursue a career in set design. She’s smart and driven to be more than the pretty face her mother has been flaunting for years. Trish hides her true self behind the stage makeup and expensive wigs but the woman underneath has deeply felt feelings that stir to life each time she’s around Eric.

I enjoyed the appearance of all the past characters and how they play a role in helping Eric heal from his past. The team is more than simply co-workers, they are an extended family intent on making Eric a better man. They may play around a lot but at the heart they are deeply caring individuals who only want what’s best for him. Eric is used to getting attention but since his accident women look at him with pity. Trish is the first person who truly sees him and understands his kinks. Though he’s been closed off since the accident when he’s with her he laughs and smiles more than he ever has…even before his plane crash. He’s extremely hardworking and his dedication to both his team and his brother made him very likable.

Just like with each prior book, Bare Knuckle has well wrote characters and a unique story line full of wonderfully emotional scenes. I adored it!

I give Bare Knuckle by Katie Porter 5 stars!

BARE KNUCKLE marks the end of the Vegas Top Guns series.  I have to admit I am sad to see it end.  This is a smoking hot series and I've loved every second of it because it's always new and over the top.  It goes places where other erotic romances are scared to go sometimes.

Even though this installment is not as kinky as the past few books in the series, BARE KNUCKLE still holds a lot of appeal to me.  I loved this particular kink!  Eric "Kisser" is technically a voyeur and he expresses that by taking erotic pictures of women he's been with, and some he hasn't.  Trish complements him perfectly because she's an exhibitionist and revels in the fact that he's taking pictures of video of her.

"Turn the viewfinder to me.  I want to see the moment I swallow your come."

Eric is just a bit uptight in this.  He has recovered from his accident but he has a lot of hang ups.  He has his scars and women are not flocking to him the way they used to before.  His brother is in rehab and he's back to moonlighting as a fighter to make extra money to pay for that.  He immediately catches the attention of Trish, who is starting out as a ring girl.  Trish has her own issues, coming from a broken family where her mother has always used her.  She's trying to make it in Vegas but after so many years, it's not working out for her.

I really liked his intensity and all his leashed issues.  He has such a good heart and at times doesn't know how to handle those feelings and prefers to keep them bottled up.  Trish on the other hand I wasn't too sold on and I think my few issues with her were the reason why this wasn't a 5 star read for me.  She's a bit too materialistic and self centered.  I just didn't agree with a lot of her reasoning.  And there's the fact that she threw in her ex-girlfriend in for a threesome that was really all about her.  I wanted to see more of her taking care of Eric and including him, letting him in.

Still as hot as I've always expected from this series, BARE KNUCKLE will sizzle the panties right off of you!

I liked Trish a lot. Eric wasn't too shabby, either. The writing is good. What tripped me up was the disconnect between what the characters seemed to think/need and what they actually did. Eric thinks that Trish doesn't deserve to be treated like a "fuck doll," but during sex he says "yeah, suck me with that fuck-doll mouth." There are many references to Barbie. Trish enjoys being photographed and treated like an object. I felt as if the text was suggesting that this kink brought them together and put distance between them at the same time. Both are often thinking about one-dimensional images, not their partner's thoughts or feelings. Also, the sex is a little rough and without much oral. Trish uses words like "girl come" to describe her fluids. Just one example of language and actions that struck me as raunchy and porny, rather than hot or romantic.

There's a sweet moment between Trish and her former girlfriend, Mallory. Trish cries in her arms. A few days later Trish and Mallory perform sex for Eric's camera. It's full of name-calling (slut) and hard sucking/fingering. I like f/f scenes but was looking forward to something softer or more meaningful. I didn't see evidence of Trish becoming more vulnerable with Eric. Not in the bedroom, and not at the barbecue, where she dons her Barbie disguise. I didn't know if Eric wanted a real girl or a doll or both. The sex, and this particular kink, perhaps, seemed to work against the romance.

Hard to rate because I didn't quite finish. Probably 2.5 or 3 because the characters are likeable and maybe I just don't understand much about kink.

Holy crap that was freakin amazing!!!!!!!!! I mean, I liked, and disliked a bit, other books in this series, but this one was.....superb and awesome and ....wow, wow, wow
Eric had crashed at the end of the previous book and his best buds Mike and Liam were taking care of things and worried about him. We also know from previous books, Eric is a player and not really all that respectful of women. He has a big ole chip on is shoulder and doesn't really get along with Jon and Leah due to his recklessness
Now, we've set the stage of the side character but the up-front analysis of the real man after the accident is a whole new man. He still has those qualities he had, but he expresses things differently due to his accident. Much like the other characters, a one-night stand turns into something so much more. And what a hot moment it is, and Eric has found his foil in Trish. They are so similiar in so many ways that they see through the bullshit the other dishes out and calls them on it, for the most part, but fail to see the same in themself
It is heartbreaking what these two go through, it is wild what their sexual antics dish out and it is unbelievably sweet how Eric ties everything together. I can tear up at scenes, but there is one in this book that had me sobbing it was so raw and sweet and I think I feel in love with Eric at that moment. It turned this from an aweseome read to amazing and made this a 5+ read
If you like your males alpha, your females tough yet vunerable, and your sex hard and rough, you will love this book!

I really enjoyed BN a lot. Eric totally redeemed himself from previous books yet remaind true to his character as it was portrayed in earlier books. Trish was awesome! I loved her strength and resilience. This book was headed towards 5 stars but the scene involving Trish's ex didn't quite work for me so I had to mark it down to 4 and the end, that beautiful end that made me cry pulled it up to my final rating of 4,5 stars

As much as I like it not being a never-ending series, I will miss the Vegas Top Guns!
Every single book in this series has educated me on my preferences and boundaries and for that alone the entire series deserves a fixed spot on my keeper shelf! And I am so ready for more Katie Porter!

Fave Quote:
[Eric]“I don’t always talk well.”
“Of course you don’t.” Leah laughed as she walked back toward Fang and the revelers. “You have a penis. I wouldn’t expect any different.”

Bare Knuckle, the final installment of writing duo Katie Porter's Vegas Top Guns series, is by far their best. Fighter pilot Eric Donaghue and struggling actress/dancer/performer/and student Trish Monroe are two very complex and damaged characters. Both burdened with family pressures and feelings of guilt they quickly find a commonality based on an intense sexual attraction and kink factor.

The rich character development and unconventional story line coupled with well-written smokin' hot, erotic sex scenes made this a page-turner for me. I was especially glad to see characters from previous books make an appearance.

Bare Knuckle is an emotional read with great dialogue. It was a joy to read and to see Eric and Trish overcome their many obstacles, both internal and external and find the love they both so richly deserved.

I didn't know what to expect from this book. The hero was never a favorite of mine and the set up sounded suspicious to me. An Air Force pilot who suffered a near-fatal crash engages in unsanctioned boxing to pay for his younger brother's rehab. A showgirl who is low on cash accepts a job as a 'ring girl'. They meet and sparks ensue.

There is so much more to this story. Both these people are deeply scarred by their pasts. Our heroine is the product of a show-biz mom and living the nightmare of all the ones who don't quite make it. The hero is mired in guilt for having left behind his younger brother who succumbed to drug addiction. They start out by sharing a common kink, but the emotional connection they find, while scary, starts healing the deep wounds they both have in their psych.

An emotionally satisfying read.

As reviewed on Read Our Lips:

Two people sharing a very compatible kink, he as a hobby photographer and voyeur and she´s a true exhibitionist. Meeting at a boxing game, he as a no bullshit boxer and she as fluffed up ring girl. They both have lots of troubled baggage, but together they find release and a refuge from worries.
Eric is suffering from the scars after his plane crash and supporting his brother through rehab, and Trish tries to get along as a showgirl and studying at the same time with no support from her mother. It´s a very gritty, realistic love story IMO and I loved it. You get a sweaty boxer and a dolled up showgirl trying to soldier through to better times.

Wow - this is an amazing book. Raunchy as hell, which I was not expecting, but emotional as well, with an awesome story that makes it 5 star in my book.

Two individuals hiding from the world. A scarred air force fighter pilot moonlighting as a boxer to finance his younger brother's rehab bill. A Vegas showgirl struggling to get by on her looks and talents. One's a voyeur, the other an exhibitionist. Mutual passion. Explosive romance. X-rated videos, fast cars, faster planes, threesomes, Las Vegas.

I'm glad I can live vicariously through fiction. My heart can't take the real stuff.

The last of the 64th aggressors books, this was one of the best. I have enjoyed each and every one of this series, and really enjoyed the last 2. Loved Liam and Sunny's story and really thought that it was going to be the best, but I think Eric and Trish's story really did it for me. There is so much hurt and emotion in this book that I was truly sucked in. Hot sex, great story line, and wonderful, real characters. What more could you want. Thanks Katie Porter for a great series.

I loved it. Eric and Trish were adults with adult issues, that hey.. novel approach among todays writers, they handled like adults. It was hot and steamy, just the way I like it. Two people dealing with scars, both emotional and physical. Figuring things out and putting their demons to rest. This is the only book in the series that I have read and I didn't feel lost at all. So if this book sounds interesting to you don't feel that you have to start at the beginning of the series.

Unfortunately I haven't enjoyed any of the Vegas Top Guns as much as Double Down. I found myself skimming through the back end of the book. I didn't enjoy Mallory's inclusion and it felt like some things got lost as the story went on. Well written and well edited, but the story itself just didn't keep my interest entirely.

This book is definitely hot I'll give it that. The main problem I had with Bare Knuckles was the complete lack of the relationship building. There was kink, some a littler voyeurism, and hot sex. Not sure when they made the leap from "No Strings" to "Love" but apparently it was there.

Overall it wasn't amazing but it wasn't terribly bad either.

Yet another great book in this series. Eric is just like every typical male...hard headed and closed off. That is until Trish tears down his walls. I love how the author always updates the status from the other characters in the other books. Great read.

Holy Moley!

Never has exhibitionist/voyeurism read so good. One battered monosyllabic-speaking alpha hero + one smart, babbling showgirl + matching fetishes + trust issues = one hell of a read.

I'd recommend it.

Holy shit. Amazing. Was almost sobbing at the end because the emotional wallop of Eric and Trish's reconciliation was so tangible. The story was so kinky, so amazing.
