With this volume of the manga featuring mostly the events surrounding the Harem Queen boss (not as explicit as you might think) it marks the point of the game which I put it down, meaning I can't clearly compare the two. However, there is so much clear characterization going on here between the protagonist, Toudou, and the friendship between Maki and Chisato that it undoubtedly strengthens the narrative. The game is so lax when it comes to its characters that party members could be totally left out of the proceedings if certain decisions are made (even though the manga does sideline characters like Yukino).

I've been thinking a lot about Persona lately and have been thinking about returning to the game at some point even with its frustrating elements. This manga is doing a good service in the meantime though. The twists and turns in this volume alone is surely a high point in the series.
