Despite the title "Johny Ive" this book is less about Johny himself. Only first and the last chapters touch his personally. Sometimes I caught myself thinking that this book was more about Steve — so huge impact he gave to the Johny's talent and so much attention the author pays to him. And there're a lot of basic and abstract words about his (and Apple) approach in design, like "simplicity", "leave only the essentials" and not enough details how to implement it. In this sense this book is no broader than a wikipedia article or everything you can get from press.
