2025:
Titel: Christmas at the Café av Rebecca Raisin
Betyg: 2,5

Titel: Chocolate Dreams at the Gingerbread Café av Rebecca Raisin
Betyg: 2
Kommentar: Den är lite för smörig för min smak. Det är för puttinuttigt och allt går så bra, tyvärr. Det lilla motstånd som uppstår löser sig lite väl lätt.

Titel: Christmas Wedding at the Gingerbread Café av Rebecca Raisin
Betyg: 2,5
Kommentar: Berättelsen kändes igen allt för väl. Men det var ändå lite mysigt att få lite julig känsla. En del av händelserna kändes som att de blev lite smöriga. Men som sagt det gav i alla fall lite julkänsla.

Titel: Wish upon a Christmas Cake av Darcie Boleyn
Betyg: -

2017:
Book: Christmas at the Gingerbread Café
Rating: 3
Comment: Instalove in the festive Christmassy season. I liked the setting of the Café and the baking but the love was a bit too instant.

Book: Chocolate Dreams at the Gingerbread Café
Rating: 3
Comment: A bit cheezy lovewise but I love the café and the chocolate festival.

This was such a fun, sweet, holiday novella. I love CeeCee and Lil’s relationship , the shop seems magical. Damon is a sexy single dad that loves how feisty Lil is. Their relationship starts to build and it is so much fun reading about them getting to know each other. Can’t wait to read the next book. The continuation of this romance is surrounding Easter time, I loved reading about Lil and CeeCee getting ready for the Chocolate Festival. Damon and Lil are so adorable together and I love his daughter Charlie, she is so sweet. There is trouble in town though when Joel, Lil’s ex husband shows up and making demands. The road to love got a little rocky but love won in the end. This was such a beautiful story but it did have its sad parts and frustrating parts but in the end it was worth it. Lil thought she had everything under control with the wedding plans but things start to fall apart and sabotage is in the air. I love Damon and Lil together and they are tested. CeeCee has a great loss. There are surprises in this book and such a beautiful wedding in the end.

The last story in this book is about characters not from this same storyline, it is called A Wish upon a Christmas cake by Darcie Boleyn. I really liked the premise of this story and I enjoyed most of the book. There were some parts that I felt were repetitive and I wanted to say out loud just take a shot and make a decision. Katie is a strong and independent woman but a tragedy in her past has really held her back and then there’s Sam who is a wonderful man and even though he has moved on he never forgot his past. I love Sam’s kids they are so adorable. I enjoyed reading about these two reconnecting I just wish there wasn’t so much indecision. I was so thankful when finally a happy ending was in sight, and I did love the ending.

This is almost like a compilation of several books/novellas, all smushed into one publication. It was a nice read in the week of Christmas, very fluffy and cozy, without too much thought. It was predictable, for the most part, but that's why so many people turn to romances, right?

A Gingerbread Café Christmas: This was actually three novellas, if I have to guess at the length, focusing on the same central couple, with several supporting characters and their romances, too. Enemies to lovers for the main characters. The first story happens during Christmas week, the second one happens in the lead-up to Easter, and then the third one ties everything together for another Christmas. Each novella has its own conflict to resolve, but then there are overarching secrets/conflicts that eventually resolve in the third book. Raisin did a nice job of addressing everyone's issues nicely, and I admit I both cried and laughed several times in the final book.

Wish Upon a Christmas Cake: This was one complete book, encapsulating the Christmas holidays, stretching through to the early next year, and into the spring (I think?), with a final epilogue that skips ahead a bit. Second chance romance for the main characters, with a few extra layers of interest for the conflicts and growth that each of her family members needs (mom, dad, brother) in relation to her and then on their own. The slow burn on this one was justified and healthy, based on the issues each character brought to the table, but still a little annoying right at the end.
