Scott

I was somewhat normal once.
Until I died.
It was only for a few minutes, but ever since then, I can see ghosts.
The first time I see her is in the cemetery, wearing a blood stained wedding dress.
No one else knows she exists.
I have no idea how to help her or why I chose to, but she's here now.
The one person who makes me feel alive for the first time in ages
is a spirit trapped in her own version of hell with no recollection of her life or death.

Zelda

It sounds like the start of a horror novel or something.
I'm the amnesiac ghost bride who wakes up with no memory of my life or death.
Only one person can see me.
With no clues as to who I am or how I wound up in this predicament, Scott is my only chance of helping to unlock my memories.

No matter where she goes, USA Today Bestselling author Nikki Lynn Barrett hears voices in her head. Instead of calling her crazy and locking her up, her family realizes it's just a product of being an author and allows her to write the stories so that the voices shut up.
But they don't. And probably never will. There's no need to lock her up, Nikki knows she'll never escape the voices, not until each and every last story is written. And for every story she writes, about ten or more ideas pop up.

When she isn't slaving away at her computer writing books that will probably make you cry and keep you in suspense, Nikki plots to take over the world one book at a time. What? It's a sickness. One she can't escape!

Books aren't her only addiction, though. Nikki can be found making up parodies to drive her son crazy, and bantering back and forth with her husband, who somehow manages to steal her away from the fictional world she lives in all the time.

Nikki lives in Arizona with her husband and son, where she can be found using every creativity outlet she can find through music, photography, handcrafted things, and random interests that she may pick up from time to time.

Three years ago Scott died.....for 10 minutes. After he was revived, things had changed for him....he could see ghosts. Through the years, he tried to ignore them, tried to school his features so that the ghosts did not know he could see them......until one day, at his Uncle's funeral, he sees her. A ghost, in a blood stained wedding gown. He can not stop looking at her and then she realizes he can see her. She has no memory....of who she is, where she is from or even how she died. Scott decides to call her Zelda, after a character in one of the popular video games. He decides to help her find out what happened. Scott and Zelda begin uncovering the nefarious chain of events that landed her in the predicament she was in...... As Scott and Zelda spend more time together, they start having feelings for each other. Having feelings for a Ghost? Just perfect. How would this ever work?
Don't miss this exceptional paranormal book full of love, intrigue and suspense.

Nikki Lynn Barrett has written one heck of a ghost story! The poor hero of this story has to deal with a lot. From becoming attached to a beautiful, if bloody, spirit, to unhelpful (even hurtful) parents, and suffering a great loss of his own, Scott has to work his way through a maze of lies and deceit to make the lovely Zelda whole again. I love it when an author weaves a web so exactly that I fail to figure out who the bad guy is. Nikki Barrett had me guessing the whole way through, then she left me smiling.

This is one book I could not put down. I LOVED this paranormal story between Scott and Zelda. I can honestly say I have not read to many books like this but I am so happy I was able to read this amazing story. The characters of Scott being able to see ghosts and he meets Zelda and to help her is just touching. Wow, I cannot wait to see what the next books are in this series! I was skeptical about reading this book, not going to lie. But man, I'm glad I did. It's a page turner. This story was so much better and bigger than I had anticipated. It's beautifully written. I think Scott needed Zelda as much as she needed him. As a ghost he was her voice and her problem solver. This story goes way deeper than ghost and ghost whisperer. But you'll have to read it for yourself. I'm not going to ruin it for you.

I've read books written by this author before and have always enjoyed her series. THIS was such a different genre from what I've read of her in the past.

This book is FANTASTIC!!! It's a ghost story with suspense and a mystery all wrapped up in pages that basically turn themselves. I ripped through this book in one sitting and pushed off sleep until I read the very last word.

This appears to be the first in a series and o hope the next story comes soon.

I absolutely recommend this story.

I have to admit when I heard that Nikki Lynn Barrett was writing a Paranormal book I was a little skeptical. I love her romance books and was not sure what I would think of this one. As I started reading I had a hard time putting it down.

Scott died for a brief time several years ago and since his recovery he now sees ghosts. This has been hard for him, he has ghosts everywhere he goes asking him to help them.

His Uncle passed away and while he is in the cemetary he sees a young lady with blood on her wedding dress staring at him. He tries to not speak to the ghosts but this one appears to be different.

From this point on I became hooked with the book. It seems Ms. Barrett can really tell a story. I would recommend this book to my friends.

Peaceful Slumber is the first book in the Soul Connection Series by Nikki Lynn Barrett. It is a wonderful paranormal romance, with ghosts, drama, mystery, second chances, and plenty of feeling. I really enjoy Ms. Barrett’s work, her stories are always well written, captivating and very enjoyable. I’ve read a few of her books now and this one is totally different from any of the others that I’ve read, and I loved it!
We meet Scott Henderson who is a bit of a loner, he’s socially awkward and has a bit of a chip on his shoulder. But he also has the ability to see and hear ghosts. He wasn’t born with the ability, but after a traumatic event caused him to die for several minutes before being resuscitated, he awoke to his new ‘reality’. He tries his best to ignore the ghosts and doesn’t really know how to deal with them. People in general, living or dead, just make him feel awkward. So, when a beautiful ghost in a blood-soaked wedding dress captures his attention, he is surprised that he feels so compelled to help her.
Zelda wakes up in a fog, not knowing who she is or how she came to be wearing a wedding dress covered in blood. She is lost, alone and scared. She soon discovers that she’s a ghost, invisible to the world around her. How will she figure everything out if no one can see her to help her? But then she stumbles upon Scott, and he is able to see her- not only that, but he’s also willing to help her figure out who she is and what happened to her. And so, the adventure begins!
The story has a great pace and a smooth flow. It was so easy to read. It is told from several POV’s that give this story quite a lot of added interest.
Ms. Barrett infused so much suspense, tension, chemistry and emotion into the story. She had me on the edge of my seat, and guessing, the whole way through. She created a wonderfully complex and multi-layered storyline that was woven around a very intriguing puzzle. The story had so many inter-connected characters and situations, but Ms. Barrett choreographed the whole thing into a seamless and smooth read. There were tears, laughs, smiles, nail biting intrigue, beautiful romance and so much more.
I can’t wait for the next book!

Thank you, Ms. Barrett!

Peaceful Slumber  (Soul Connection Book 1 ) by Nikki Lynn Barrett

Peaceful Slumber  (Soul Connection Book 1 ) by Nikki Lynn Barrett is the first book in her Soul Connection series.Ive read other books by her and enjoyed this one just as much as I did the orhers.I was hooked from the beginning and had a hard time putting it down once I started reading. I enjoyed this authors style of writing and her ability to grab your attention from the beginning and keep it till the end. I felt like I was right there with the characters throughout the story.Get ready  to go on one heck of an emotional roller-coaster ride that you'll have a hard time getting off. This is the story about Scott and Zelda and their paranormal journey. Scott experiences something unexpected that will change his life forever, he died for ten minutes and after he wakes up  he can now see ghosts. Years he's tried  to  ignore the ghosts but after his uncle dies and he sees her at the funeral, she's wearing not only a wedding dress but one stained with blood, Scott can't seem to keep his eyes off of her.Zelda has no memory of who she is or even where she's from. She doesn't even remember how she died.Zelda finds herself confused as to why he can see her and no one else can. From here they begin their journey  together to find out who she is and how she died..More time spent together more they both begin to have feelings for each other. These have have great chemistry  but how can one fall for a ghost?I loved these two characters and was hoping they would find a way to make it work.I highly recommend this book especially if you want to know how and if they end up getting a happy ending. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Peaceful Slumber (Soul Connection Book 1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett

Im sitting here asking myself..What did I just read? This is not my first book by this author and I guess thats what has me questioning myself. This book has everything you expect when reading a book by this author, it's just a whole different type of book and I must say..I loved it!! It had me on the edge of my seat from page 1, I literally read it in one sitting while drinking a whole pot of coffee.

I had no idea what to expect when i read the synopsis for this book but it had me curious enough to try it and I'm so glad I did. There is so much going on in this story and my mind was reeling all the way through trying to figure out what happened to Zelda, how did she end up showing up in a cemetery, in a wedding dress, covered in blood and mud during the funeral for Scotts uncle, and why is Scott the only one that can see her? Not only that but why can Scott see her and many others. There are so many questions in this book that I found myself needing answers to. Scotts past somewhat kinda sorta explains his predicament, but Zelda's is a mystery that needs to be solved. I loved these two characters and Jeff was an awesome addition!!

How she weaved these words to create this amazing story made me almost believe this happens every day in the world we live in. It should not have felt real, but it definitely did. I can't wait to see where she goes with the next book, and I'm so glad she went with this idea that she couldn't ignore, I recommend this book highly, it was fun, it was sad, and it will mess with your mind. I loved it!!

Scott Henderson died but was revived by doctors and since then he can see ghosts. He generally doesn't pat attention to them but when he is drawn to a ghost in a wedding dress he has no idea how much his life is about to change.

Zelda is nicknamed "Ghost bride" by Scott as she has no memories of her name or anything to do with her previous life. Yet she discovers that she also seems to be in an "in-between" state as she could possible be in a coma as she is hearing voices as well.

As Scott and Zelda work together to figure out who she is will they get more than they bargain for? Is there a reason that no one has reported her missing?

This was a great story involving trying to discover someone's identity with absolutely nothing to go on. There were so many times that you felt like Scott and Zelda were getting close only to discover it was a false lead.

There was so much suspicion on certain characters and you weren't sure with the twists and turns what was coming next! There was definitely so much suspense in the book.

There was so much chemistry between Scott and Zelda and it must have been so hard no knowing if Zelda was in a relationship or not, considering she was initially wearing a wedding dress. The two cared about each other so much but were so afraid of getting attached and having to say goodbye.

The ending completely shocked me and I wasn't prepared for everything that was revealed!

a brilliant read about trying to find peace with the past. Scott has always seen ghosts. one day while at his uncles funeral, he sees the ghost of a woman who doesn't know who she is or what happened to her. Scott helps her to cope with her life as a ghost and find some answers but when she finds some answers, nothing is as it seems and more mysteries unravel. Will Scott be able to and solve the mysteries and help her move on with her life?
a brilliant read. well developed plot with twists and turns I just couldn't put down. well developed characters such as Scott with his caring heart underneath his vulnerabilities. Zelda was beautifully written in her sense of confusion as she struggles through life which gives her the biggest sympathies as you read. their determination to never give up no matter what life throws at them was amazingly written. the switches between their narratives was easy to follow and well written, adding more emotion in the first person. I also loved the eerie and fantastic nature of the ghosts which was spinechilling every time in particular, the ghosts in the graveyard at the start which was perfectly written and gave me goosebumps. the settings of the bridge and the cabin were spooky and gothic but beautifully written full of visual detail. I also thoroughly enjoyed the take on the fairytale with the damsel in distress and the knight to save her and the evil stepmother and gothic locations which were captivating in their unusual twists which I adored. the continuing theme of peaceful slumber contrasted with how the ghosts cant rest in peace was also a nice additionoverall, a brilliant read and I would give it five stars.

Peaceful Slumber (Soul Connection, #1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett was a paranormal mystery that is full of twist, turns and shocking revelations.

This read really got me thinking. I loved the mystery, the weird in-between death, and plot twist and that shocking ending. Zelda, she was something else. I didn't quiet get her at first, more so because for a bit I was convinced that she was going to be a crazy murder, but coloured me shock when my conclusions weren't correct.

Scott, for me, I felt he had the most growth. He was in a dark place before Zelda and throughout their journey together, the crazy, the mystery, he found himself and grew up.

I liked the POV switches, it really added to the story, and getting inside Zelda's head really help with the suspense, and added that something special where you didn't know yourself, if she was truly the victim. The writing helped with that mindF as well. The tone was dark, there were clues, misdirects and one twist after another. Once one clue was solved, something else would take it's place and drive this mystery into a more darker place.

Overall I was completely sock with how much I got hooked on this story. True, I will say that I was a little disappointed at the 20% mark, only because I felt that the story lost it's one, unique element. I won't tell you what because, as much of a let down that was, the constant plot bombs made up for it.

I highly recommend this read. This a paranormal thriller, will mess with your head, have you second guessing every little detail.

Happy Reading

As a reader and one who has followed Nikki Lynn Barrett since her first novel this one was an interesting read and totally new from what she usually writes. We have Scott, on the outside seems normal, average but nobody knows the real Scott. Months ago he was shot and when getting shot became responsible to a special power nobody has had before. We always ask what happens to those who die? Do they see the light or in limbo? This is where Scott comes and see's a woman in wedding dress. Now this is where Nikki Lynn Barrett's imagination goes wild and have to say WOW. We have the Ghost Bride aka Zelda who somehow Scott can see but nobody else. The mystery about her and Scott's curiosity wanting to know what happened to Zelda makes this book twist to another turn. A turn that I loved reading about have to say when Nikki Lynn Barrett pulls you into another turn get ready for the ride. Many things happening in this book readers will not be disappointed for it just keeps you asking all these questions and who is Zelda. Cannot wait to see what else is in store by Nikki Lynn Barrett for this is one paranormal romance you will want more from this talented author.

"I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own."

“Not only have I come back from the dead, but the dead, want me.”
Nikki Lynn Barrett doesn’t disappoint again with her latest and different novel Peaceful Slumber. I was pleasantly surprised with the different genera from her. I was a bit hesitant going in with the paranormal from her at first because it isn’t her usual but her other stories are so beautifully written that I couldn’t not give it a go, and I wasn’t left wanting for anything as usual with her work.
This novel introduced us to Scott and Zelda. Scott is your typical guy, well he was up until about three years ago when he briefly died. He was brought back from the brink and ever since he has seen ghosts, a lot of ghosts.
“I’ve learned to ignore them, for the most part. They find me no matter where I go. I can’t even take a s**t without a ghost appearing, frantic for help because they eventually know I can see them. That stupid split second where I let my weakness show, and they descend upon me like a vulture chasing its prey.”
Of course, the twist comes when he attends the funeral of his Uncle Floyd and sees the young and beautiful ghost of a bloodied bride.
“A cold blanket of fog surrounded me as I sit up from the hard surface I must have been sleeping on, wearing a wedding gown, once white, now stained in red. My mind races a mile a minute, scrambling to retrieve a memory of what happened like a dog scampering for his ball, but I come up empty.”
There is a connection that is undeniable between the two and indescribable. The book begins to unfold and the roller coaster of emotions that Nikki takes you on is one that is amazing on ever. They go on a journey together to figure out each other and in the long run learn so much more. And OH, Mylanta the ending is so AMAZING!! I know this is supposed to be a stand alone read but one can hope that we get a few more out of this genera from Nikki Lynn Barrette, because she knocked this one out of the park!!

Peaceful Slumber by Nikki Lynn Barrett is a paranormal romance with a healthy amount of mystery-solving. Following a traumatic accident, Scott has been able to see and hear ghosts. Occasionally, he helps them to resolve whatever unfinished business is keeping them from fully passing on. This ranges from mediating between them and a loved one, to solving their murder. At his uncle's funeral, he is drawn to a ghost of a young woman in a blood stained wedding dress. She is suffering from amnesia and doesn't know who she is, let alone how she died.
The narration is first person, alternating between Scott and the ghost. This works well to allow us to relate to both of them, and see their insecurities. The narration does get a little bit informal at times but that adds to the sense that it's the characters telling their own story.
At times I found aspects of the plot a little unconvincing, but overall it was clever and detailed and we were continually fed clues as the mystery of the ghost bride was gradually solved.
This book sensitively portrays grief, PTSD and schizophrenia. There are times when the characters go through rough patches, which some readers might find triggering, but we also see the characters coping well and enjoying life and their relationships.
I give this book four out of five stars. It was an exciting read that had me hooked from the start, despite to find out who the ghost was and what had happened to her. I'd recommend it to fans of paranormal romance and mystery.

Peaceful Slumber ( Soul Connection Book 1 )
By Nikki Lynn Barrett
5/5 Stars
Peaceful Slumber is book one in the Soul Connection Series by Nikki Lynn Barrett. This isn’t my first story I’ve read by this author. ( I have read many books by Nikki and loved them all! ) But it’s just as enjoyable, if not more so! This isn’t your average story by Nikki Lynn Barrett. It is so much different than the other stories she has written before . It’s an amazing suspenseful ghost romance story, you’ll love! It may be different than the rest, but it doesn’t disappoint!! I personally , couldn’t put it down! It’s packed full with drama and mystery!
Scott is a bit of a loner and a recluse. He likes to be alone and keeps to himself most of the time. Probably because he can see ghosts and communicate with them. He hates his unusual ability and wishes he couldn’t communicate with the dead.
Zelda is the beautiful young ghost, who appears at the cemetery where Scott is. She is wearing a stunning wedding dress drenched in blood. Oh and has no idea of who she is or what happened. She has no memory of her past or present whatsoever!
You must read this captivating story to find out what happens with these two! Will Scott be able to help her? Will they get the answers they are desperate for?
I can’t even begin to say how much I enjoyed this book!! It was sooo full emotion and complexity! She blended everything to beautifully, it had me on the edge of my seat, trying to guess what’s going to happen next!! Wonderful job, Nikki! I’m can’t wait to read what’s next!

Peaceful Slumber by Nikki Lynn Barrett was different to all the other books I’ve read by this author but not in a bad way. I really enjoyed the change in style. It tells the story of Scott, a young man who can see ghosts after a near death experience. While at his uncle’s funeral he sees an intriguing ghost, who has amnesia and begs him for help. Instead of shrugging her off like the others who approach him, he decides to help her & names her Zelda, after his favourite computer game character. Little does he realise their story will be complicated and unpredictable and he will find himself feeling things he shouldn’t for a ghost.
This was a fantastical paranormal romance with a touch of the thriller about it too. I really liked the ups and downs of this book. The characters were easy to identify with and well-illustrated. The lead two characters had an interesting back story and we could feel sympathy for them easily. What happened as the story unfurled kept the reader hooked to the very end. Just as we thought everything was turning out right for Zelda and Scott, something else would crop up. She would remember another memory and off we would go in another direction. It was a really entertaining novel and I was so hooked I finished it in 2 days. I thought there were some lovely touches in it that brought the story full circle in the end. I would really recommend this book to fans of romantic fiction and paranormal fiction.

Once again Nikki Lynn Barrett has me hooked! This is not the first book I have read, and it wont be the last either. When I read the description, I was skeptical, as it is not my typical read, and the reviews said it was not like her typical book. However, she has never let me down, so I went for it. And boy, am I glad I did!! I loved the story, the characters, and their relationships with each other and friends. It is the story of 2 people coming together in the most unusual circumstances. Scott is somewhat of a medium, although not by choice. Ever since dying, and being saved, he can see ghosts. While he usually tries to ignore them, he finds himself instantly drawn to this ghost bride. Despite her being a ghost, she makes him feel things he hasnt in a long time, and vows to help her.
Zelda has no idea who she is. She doesnt even know if she is dead or alive, as she is stripped of all her memories, including her name, where she is from, and what happened to her. For some reason, Scott can see her, and offers to help her. But does she want his help? He is kind of a jerk at times, very sarcastic and jaded, closed off from everyone around him. Maybe if she can crack his shell, they can help each other.
This story had so many twists and turns, I didnt see most of them coming. HIGHLY recommend to everyone, as it was one of my favorite books I have read in a while.

Peaceful Slumber (Soul Connection Book 1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett is the first book in her Soul Connection series. I enjoyed her book as much as I have enjoyed the rest of her books. I think this one just might be my favorite. Her writing style just pulls me in from the first word and keeps me engaged until the end. Her attention to details make me feel as if I am right there in the book with the characters. Her characters are both lovable and connectable. They will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride that you won't want to get off. Scott and Zelda will take us on a paranormal journey that you won't be able to put down. Something unexpected happens to Scott that will change him forever, he dies for ten minutes and when he wakes up he can see ghosts. For years he tries to ignore them until his uncle passes and he sees her at his funeral. She is wearing a blood stained wedding dress and he just can't keep his eyes off her. Zelda has no memory of who she is or where she is from. She can't even remember how she died. She is confused on why he is the only one that can see her. From here they go on a journey together to find out who she is and how she died. The more time the more they start having feelings for each other. But how could he fall for a ghost? Is it even possible? I loved these characters. They have such chemistry and they just belong together. I kept hoping that they would find a way to be together and have a happy ending. These are two strong characters that really just make this story. They both have gone through so much that you have to feel compassion for them. They make you want to read their story just to see if they will have a happy ending. I highly suggest this book, I know you will want to see what happens to them and if they can find a happy ending.

This is my first book by the author and for me it was the best book I have read in a while. She gives awesome descriptions so you can have the perfect picture of the scene. The way she moves between the characters is refreshing and also very believable like this could be happening around us and we judt do not know.
The main characters in the story are Scott and Zelda. Scott has an amazing gift (even though he does not think so). He can see ghosts. He had a life event where he was “dead for a few minutes”. Since then he sees ghosts everywhere. He is bothered by this because the ghosts are lost and found out he can see them. So naturally they want his help. He decides who he helps and who he does not want to help. He just happened to be at his Uncle’s funeral. That is where Zelda enters. She has found herself in her wedding gown with blood stains. No one can see her or hear her except Scott. She is in shock trying to figure out what is happening. Zelda finds Scott and then the story begins.

Nikki Lynn Barrett does a wonderful job of intertwining the Scott and Zelda’s story. There is a missing element that she leaves you wanting more. I cannot wait to see what is in store for our characters.

What would you do if you could see ghosts? That is the crux of Nikki Lynn Barrett’s novel Peaceful Slumber. Scott used to be an average guy, until an accident caused him to die for a few minutes and gave him the ability to see and hear ghosts. Scott has been able to ignore the ghosts in his life for the most part, until he is at a funeral and sees a woman in a bloody wedding dress in the cemetery. Something about her draws Scott and makes him want to help this ghost who can’t seem to remember what happened to her, her past, or even her name.
What a ride this book was! Just when I thought I had everything figured out Ms. Barrett threw another curve ball. I loved the relationship between Scott and Zelda, I loved the way Zelda saw the real Scott and helped him become a better person while he helped her find out who she is and where she came from. This author has some crazy talent and a great imagination. The story flowed so well from scene to scene and from one red herring to another. The scenes with the ghosts were touching and I was rooting for the fact that Scott would hone this gift he had in order to help others right from the beginning. All in all this was a terrific story and since it is book one in the Soul Connection series I can’t wait to read more from this very talented author.

Peaceful Slumber is a great book. It keeps your interest with all of the twists and turns. The characters are easy to connect with and the story line is intriguing. There are a lot of moving pieces to the story and the author does a great job of connecting it all together in a fluid way that makes it easy to read, but keeps your attention.

Zelda comes to dressed in a bloody wedding gown and with no memories. She’s alone and searching for someone to help her. While on a search for assistance she comes into contact with Scott. When she realizes that he is the only one who can see her, it confirms that she is dead. All she wants to do is figure out who she is and what happened.

Scott nearly died once and ever since he can see ghosts. He’s tried to keep from embracing his gift. He never asked for it, and doesn’t want it. But, when he connects with the Ghost Bride, as he calls her, he can’t help but help her. He invites her to follow him home. Little does he know that he is about to be taken on the adventure of his life.

Peaceful Slumber by Nikki Lynn Barrett is the first ‘paranormal romance’ genre book I have read and I really enjoyed the story!

Scott is a reluctant clairvoyant, having only gained the gift following a near death experience which has left him emotionally detached from his parents and in therapy. He usually ignores the apparitions that seek his help but then he meets the ‘Ghost Bride’, a spectre of a young woman who appears to him in a bloodied wedding dress and no memory of her past. Scott feels an undeniable link to the woman and decides to help – nicknaming her Zelda in honour of the quest they both find themselves undertaking!

The plot is full of twists and turns as the Scott and Zelda investigate any links they can find to her past, assisted by Zelda’s occasional remembrances and Scott’s frantic internet searches. The main characters find a blossoming friendship and inexplicable chemistry developing between them as they delve further into Zelda’s past and find an extraordinary tale.

I thought the story was well told but felt sometimes the relationship with Scott and Zelda was very laboured upon- I like to feel the chemistry between characters myself without having it spelled out to me every couple of chapters how much they are attracted to one another! There is also a plot twist at the end which leads to my assumption that there is to be a second book, I will reserve judgement until I’ve read it myself but I felt it didn’t link into the story and was just added to further the series.

Peaceful Slumber by Nikki Lynn Barrett is the first in a new series Soul Connection. It is the story of Scott and Zelda. Scott used to be ordinary, until he died for a short time. Now with the ability to see ghosts he tries his best to adjust to his new normal. When he sees Zelda for the first time she is in a graveyard, wearing a bloodstained wedding dress and completely confused about what’s happened to her. Zelda for her part has no memory of her life, or death. Having met someone that can help to solve the mystery of who she was and what happened to her is nothing short of a miracle, even more so when Scott actually agrees to help.
This book was fantastic I love a book that can surprise me with how much I love it and this one fits the key. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I was blown away and sucked right into this story. The characters were well written and the dialogue between Scott and Zelda really kept the flow going. This book had me turning pages long after I should have been in bed. Definitely giving this one a five star rating and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

This is the first book that I have read by Nikki. I have to say this was interesting from beginning to very end. Had me on the edge of my seat. I have to reread some pages to be able to understand the storyline because there are some twists and turns in this book. It is a different genre that I normally read but so glad that I did read this one. Scott can see and talk to ghosts. They seek his help. The day of his uncles funeral he meets Zelda. She does not know what is going on has no memory of what is happening to her. Prepare yourself for the ride you never expected. These two together are amazing. Things happen that you never see coming. Scott helps Zelda with everything even once things happen that bring out who she really is. I absolutely loved this story line. For being a genre that I normally don't read. I loved it and highly recommend reading it. I would gladly read more from this writer. She has gained a fan with this one.
