To tell you the truth, if you asked me a few years back about whether I planned to read the Bible from front to back, I would not know what to tell you (although I did want to read it at some point).
Having come to faith and having received my own NIV as a gift in January this year, my life has drastically changed. Reading the Bible gradually and reflecting on it had become part of a daily routine, and I am deeply grateful for those who have guided me (and been patient with me) along the way. I, for one, do not believe in a literal interpretation of the Old Testament or the New Testament. However, I attest to the truth in that I have fundamentally changed in body, soul, and spirit and that I want to do my part in carrying out faith through righteous deeds, and with the Trinity.
I feel a deep connection to those who have come before me, who have 'bore the cross' on their own, and to brothers and sisters (religious or not) who love God and humanity for better or for worse, or who might be still figuring out their own path in life. I am not necessarily writing this review to force upon any views but to share/testify that for me, at least, I feel a lot more at peace. I also feel like I have 'unlocked' a thorough interest in history, morality, and grasped an understanding of the underlying cultural undertones behind societies founded on Judeo-Christian values.
I would like to share some favourite verses with you (non-exhaustive list):

If you noticed, I also included two verses from Ecclesiastes as it's my favourite book. As an anxious person who has learnt to handle grief in my adulthood, I remind myself that there is comfort in an end, and to not worry for there are better things in store.
