It’s easy to stop believing in happily ever afters when the man you thought you’d spend the rest of your life with abandons you right before your wedding day. After that disastrous event, I decided that commitment was for suckers. I was young, successful, and in the prime of my life.
I didn’t need a man to make me happy.
Then an unexpected blast from the past came waltzing into my studio and decided I was a challenge he was more than willing to accept. The only problem is that he doesn’t remember he’s met me before.
He’s the ultimate playboy, determined to stop at nothing until he entices the hell out of me. But if Caleb McMannus thinks he can lure me in with his sinful looks and silver tongue, then he’s… probably right.
Born and raised around Houston, Jessica is a self proclaimed caffeine addict, connoisseur of inexpensive wine, and the worst driver in the state of Texas. In addition to being all of these things, she’s first and foremost a wife and mom. Growing up, she shared her mom and grandmother’s love of reading. But where they leaned toward murder mysteries, Jessica was obsessed with all things romance. When she’s not nose deep in her next manuscript, you can usually find her with her kindle in hand.

Silly me, sometimes I don't wait for the reviews to increase and go into a book blind and then, I remember why I am here, a member of gr. I need your reviews to make sure if a book is for me or not.
So, as I said, silly me, I went in blind (totally my mistake!) and the book had my pet peeve - something I always try to avoid: unplanned pregnancy.
Isn't it an old and cliché topic already? Why do writers need to put this in their romance? Is it romantic if a baby brings a couple together? I'd rather the baby to come a few years after they got together and when they plan to have it - not by accident. I hate it when the baby becomes the reason that binds a couple together.
I know, I know... then the writer tries hard to make us believe that it is because they love each other that they are together, not because of the baby...
Ha ha, tough job, dear writer, you can't make me believe it! He moves into her house when he learns that she is pregnant. How will you make me believe it? Nope, not buying it, sorry! (not sorry)
P.S. If you are doing it bare, you should at least remember to take your pills, silly woman! It is that simple: condom or pills, see? not that difficult to memorize!
FIVE STARS! Need an awesomely romantic read that will makes you giggle as you swoon? Well, look no further because Enticing Daphne doesn't disappoint. Sigh. I adored this standalone rom-com from Jessica Prince so much...xoxo
Sexy, funny, angsty, and so satisfying--I absolutely adored ENTICING DAPHNE. I fell in love with these ladies in SEDUCING LOLA, and it was a blast seeing Daphne fall in love and get her HEA.
A total stand-alone, you can pick this up and easily go with Caleb and Daphne from their first "forgotten" hookup to the end when they confront their demons together.

I am seriously addicted to Jessica Prince's writing. She's able to write such amazing characters with wonderful backstories and passion. My god. The passion between her characters are palpable. I loved every single book in this series and Enticing Daphne was no exception. It was fun, hot, and it made me cry at the most unexpected times. I loved Caleb. He's officially my new book boyfriend.
We have Daphne who just downright doesn't believe in happily ever afters. At least, for her. It makes sense since the one person she loved walked out on her on her wedding. She doesn't trust people easily after this because of how much pain she suffered.
It was so much fun watching Daphne and Caleb interact. We have Daphne being all sassy and fierce and Caleb easily retorting witty remarks back at her. They were great equals. And when finally Daphne learned that she deserved love after everything she has been through, it made me cry.
Enticing Daphne grabbed my attention because I was looking for a new rom-com to read. The last eighteen months or so, I’ve read a lot of romance (something I have never imagined would happen to the degree it has). However, considering how many romance books I’ve been reading, I have read a very small number of rom-coms. Since it had been a while, I decided Enticing Daphne would be the romantic comedy to fix my dry patch.
Whilst Enticing Daphne is described as a standalone romantic comedy, I would suggest reading the connected books first. I read this as a standalone novel and found it to be enjoyable enough; however, I felt as though I was missing out on some big details about the other characters and the other events going on as they were referenced but never really explained in full. Therefore, whilst you can read and enjoy Enticing Daphne as a standalone novel, I would recommend picking up Seducing Lola and Tempting Sophia first. Not to mention, it will be a nice lead onto Charming Fiona, allowing you to understand everything that has been happening between the characters.
Despite the small blanks in my knowledge based upon how I read this as a standalone novel, without picking up the connected books, I did find this to be an enjoyable enough read. When I first started the book, I let out a lot of giggles – in fact, I was pretty excited for a real rollercoaster of giggles. However, as the book continued I felt as though the book wasn’t as funny as I was promised it would be. There were plenty of giggles to be found throughout, I admit that, but I wasn’t howling in the way I usually am when I pick up a rom-com. When I pick up a rom-com I expected to be laughing every couple of pages, whereas with this one there were some chapters where I didn’t laugh at all. I did enjoy the story, but I feel let down by the number of chuckles I let out in the end. In many ways, I feel as though it would have done better if it was simply labelled a contemporary romance – then people could enjoy the giggles they are given without feeling as though there should be more.
In truth, the aforementioned is part of the reason why in my mind this book isn’t quite a full four-star rating. I enjoyed the story, I kept turning the pages to see what happened next, but I was never truly lost within the pages. I could have put the book down and walked away if I wanted to – not forever, I would be back to pick it up to see how every detail came together in the end, but it was not a ‘read or die’ situation. I think, in part, it was the trope that came into play when we were part way through the book that spiralled me into the ‘I am not going to fall completely in love with this book’ category. A certain trope was used, one I’ve been finding far too often recently. I simply feel as though I would have enjoyed the way this story came together more had the trope not been introduced. There was plenty happening throughout this book, some of the things really interested me, but certain things left me feeling as though the book wasn’t quite all it could have been.
Overall, though, I did enjoy this one. It wasn’t the belly laughing read I had hoped for, but I did have fun with it. Moreover, I am interested in reading more of Jessica Prince’s work – probably the related Girl Talk books, but maybe something else depending on what catches my eye.
Enticing Daphne is a super sweet, sexy and humorous read that had me smiling so hard while laughing while reading Daphne and Caleb's love story. I fell in love with these ladies in SEDUCING LOLA and I was so happy to read Daphne fall in love and get her HEA. This is a standalone story , one that you can pick up and read from start to finish. Daphne and Caleb's relationship starts off with instant chemistry when they first meet in a bar. Neither is looking for anything more than just that one night where names and phone numbers were not exchanged. When they run into each other later on a few months later, Daphne still hasn’t forgotten her hot guy but it appears as though he has forgotten her and that hot night that they had together and it appears he is a playboy of the worst kind. He shows up at her office and is a friend of Grayson Lockhart’s- owner of the radio station. Things have just got super awkward for what will she say to him , especially now that he has forgotten that one night? Oh things are just now about to get insanely wild between these two. Caleb isn’t really a bad guy nor is he truly a playboy. Caleb never knew what a true loving relationship looked like. His parents are what dysfunctional look like and so he is determined to never fall in love or have relationships…until he meets Daphne. He doesn’t know what it is about her that makes him want to be different for her. Now Daphne has a truly messed up relationship with her mother and her mother is one horrible person. Daphne herself known true love or been in a loving relationship so she does what she wants and think she was happy but when she met Caleb, she came to realize he was her missing link but what happens when two people who end up meeting by chance then find their way back to each other? Oh the chemistry between them is sizzling and they discover it isn’t going to be so easy to walk away this time. I loved how Daphne was so sassy and sweet while Caleb is dominant, humorous yet there is this side to him that is somewhat tortured . Put these two together and they are magic together. Add in family drama, and also there is more Lola and Sophia and we get a little more Fiona in this book. This makes for one awesome book. I was sad when this book was over because I didn’t want to say goodbye to the ladies… and then I found out there is a new book coming out for Fiona. Her story is next and it is about her love interest Deacon, Caleb’s friend. All I can say is more romcom fun.
So, it took me about 2 hrs or so to devour this baby, yup. Two. Hours. I devoured it and I loved Caleb and Daphne, I did, but sweet baby Jesus did they give me one hell of a headache in the process. They were all kinds of fun, quirky and smexy and watching them both fall when they didn’t want to was all that and a bag of chips...but my head.
Caleb and Daphne. These two. Caleb comes off as a manwhore, and for the most part he is, at least at the beginning of the book, but as his past and present are exposed you can’t blame the man for not wanting a committed relationship, I couldn’t in all honesty. But despite his aversion to the “C” word, the man has a huge heart and probably deserves the big “C” more than anyone. Daphne is all kinds of strong, independent woman and I love that she wasn’t afraid to go after what she wants, but she was burned in the most brutal way possible and has layers of kevlar around her heart.
Caleb and Daphne’s journey was all kinds of crazy. When it was good, it was GOOD, but dear lord. Their “Thing” drove me batshit crazy. The first time, even the second time, I was okay with it, but after that..their “Thing” was most definitely not mine. It may end up being yours and more power to you if it is. But outside of that, they had mad chemistry together and despite a lot of pushing and pulling, they were both very good for each other in the end.
I think the frantic feeling I had upon finishing Enticing Daphne made its way into the review, but that’s what the book did to me. It is, at times, OTT but overall it was a fun read that I couldn’t put down. There was an interesting little twist to one of the secondary plotlines, which I thought was well played out quite well. This book does take place at the same time as Seducing Lola and Tempting Sophia, so there is an overlapping going on with them as well as a couple of other characters, Deacon and Fiona, who’s book needs to get here ASAP. So, if you love it when characters who state that then will never fall in love and then end up falling hard, then this is the book for you!

It never fails that when I need a good read all I need to do is grab a Jessica Prince book.
Enticing Daphne is a super sweet and hilarious read that gave me nothing but giggles and smiles. love all the characters in this series so far and each book just gets better. The friendships within these books is one that I absolutely love and not just the girls that we see in each book but the guys as well.
Daphne and Caleb's relationship starts off with instant chemistry when they first met. Neither is looking for anything more than that. When they run into each other later on in life it's on like donkey kong. And not in a good way at first. They battle and banter and I was completely entertained with these two. At certain points laughing my ass off while reading. These two fight and fight their attraction to one another. When they do give in it's hot as hell.
As the story progresses and these two start to spend more time with one another it was the sweetness that had me smiling so much. There are some shockers in this book as well that will have you saying well then as well as what the fuck. LOL
You really can't go wrong with a Jessica Prince book in my opinion. I've not been disappointed with anything of her yet.

3.5 Stars
I enjoyed Daphne and Caleb's story. But, I didn't love it. And, I am not sure why. But, for me, they were almost too damaged from the things that happened in their past for me to totally believe that there was anything that would draw them together, as the idea that they were pulled to one another due to their tragic pasts always seemed a little off to me.
That said, I liked the characters and I did believe the story at the end, which is what really matters.
This is the second title I have read by this author and they are funny, light reads with enjoyable characters and mostly realistic situations that they found themselves in.
I loved Daphne. I feel her and Caleb's story was done better than Sophia and Dominic's. I loved reading about the previous two couples. Jessica is always really good about weaving all her characters together and setting up he next story.
I loved Caleb because he knew how to push Daphne's buttons, just enough to get her going. My only issue is I feel there was a little disconnection with the reader on when Daphne went from wanting a no strings attached relationship to being in love. There are really no signs of this. You are reading, you can feel she likes him but there is no monumental moment when it is realized. She doesn't even say to herself she loves him, she just comes out and tells him and it's like, wait, where was that moment. That is the only time I felt a disconnection.
The one and only thing I kind of had a problem with was how long she kept everything from her best friends, they were all kind of blindsided at the last moment. Other than that, I loved Daphne and Caleb's story. It is sweet, sexy, and as always with the ladies of Girl Talk, very entertaining. I can't wait for Deacon and Fiona, but saddened to see this series come to an end.
Daphne King does not believe in love and does not need a man for any other reason then one night. She thinks that all men are a waste of time. But fate of course has other plans for Ms. King. She meets a man that literally turn her world upside down. In her own words " he has ruined me other men" This book had me laughing so hard one minute then cursing like a sailor the next. It's the reason why I love reading anything by Jessica Prince. I cant wait for readers to read Caleb and Daphne's story
Neglected by the people who should have loved them the most, Daphne and Caleb never knew true loving relationships. Burned in the past, both are determined to live their lives on their terms…namely love them and leave them. When they meet by chance, the sparks fly and they discover walking away isn’t going to be so easy this time. Enticing Daphne is a sexy and sassy rom com that pulls you in from page one and keeps you turning the pages, rooting for these two to find their HEA.
I'm such a huge fan of Jessica Prince Enticing Daphne was very enjoyable which wasn't a surprise this can be read as a standalone but I do suggest that you get Seducing Lola and Tempting Sophia because the couples stories are mentioned in Enticing Daphne . I couldn't wait to get my hands on Daphne and Calebs book and what a story it was they made such a great couple but they also frustrated me to no end and at times I wanted to shake them both . After Daphne and Caleb have one hell of an explosive night together that was meant to be from one night not realizing they couldn't wipe the memory of the night even when they tried . I really liked Daphne she had such a horrible betrayal that has made her not trust so easily so it made sense how she would act at times even though it did frustrate me she's funny , smart , beautiful , and kind . Loved Caleb even though he too angered me his fear of being his father was understandable because his dad is just ICK , Caleb could be sweet , cocky , dirty talker , and protects the ones he holds close to him . I can't wait to read the next book in the series with the tease of an ending I just know it's going to be one hell of a roller coaster ride . copy provided for honest review **************************************** hero=8 heroine= 8 secondary characters=10 Chemistry= 10 steam= 8 romance= 8 humor=5 darkness level= 4 action= 3 mystery= 3 enjoyment= 9 angst=4 story line= 10 Story ending= 10 character development= 10 pacing= 10 cover= 10 stars= 4 author= 10 would I recommend this book= yes would I re read this book= yes would I read future books by this author= yes
This book was amazing for so many reasons!! Daphne and Caleb were constantly surprising us, their chemistry was off the charts, the plot was light but solid, the secondary characters were addicting, it was at the same time sexy-funny-emotional just in the right amount and Jessica Prince could kept us waiting for more from the book and more from more books (that's right, I'm anxious now for Fiona and Deacon!!).
Both Daphne and Caleb are strong resilient people, but they are also beautifully vulnerable. For the world outside, they are rocks, unstoppable, nothing can affect or hurt them, but in the inside, it's possible to see that they have been burned bad in the past, they still feel the fire and it comes back, they need to escape it, fight it, be better than it, they intense, deep and complex!
Daphne was the strong, independent woman, that didn't want to relate to love, but she wasnt cinical. She was just pragmatic and to the point. She knew there was love out there (she saw it on Lola and Grayson, Sophia and Dominic, hell even on Deacon and Fiona), she just doubted there was out there for everyone (including her).
Caleb wasn't the tipical manwhore playboy. He was only ignorant to love, no one ever taught him about it, but he felt it. He was loyal to the ones he loved, and his mother was the first one to prove that!
The book was incredible. It was the perfect balance between love, laugh, hatred, rage, angst, ansiety, swooning and expectation for what is to come for them both and for the others!
"Oh Jessica. She's done it again with Enticing Daphne. This book completely sucked me in and consumed my thoughts. Even now after I'm done, I keep wanting to go back and read some more, and realize that i'm done, and it's over.
I loved Daphne. The sassy thing. She had zero problem putting Caleb in his place and telling him off. Even though the whole time she was wanting to rip his clothes off and shut him up with her mouth. And Caleb was magical. He was sexy and sweet, but a bit clueless on some things. But that was what made him endearing. Those two separate were awesome, but when they were together, it was explosive. It always started with them bickering, turning into arguing, then them ripping each other's clothes off.
Not only do I love the aspect of it being a rom-com, because those are on my top favorite list, but it also included an accidental pregnancy which is DEFINITELY my favorite. I don't know why I love them, but I do....I digress. Anyway, I wish there were more of her being heavily pregnant in it. I would loved to have seen her emotional snaps at Caleb and their fights and how he would dote on her. Those are the best things about pregnancy in books. Okay, I'm rambling.
The moral of this review is Jessica's last name should be QUEEN, cause she rules these books! (That was corny lol) I can't wait for Fiona's book. That one sounds more angsty, and I love me some angst!! " ~Amber
"Hot. Sweet. Real. This was my first Jessica Prince book and I absolutely loved it! That spark between Daphne and Caleb was fierce! I loved their relationship, quirks and all! I'm going to have to read more of Jessica Prince's work! She wrote this book flawlessly and had me hooked from the very beginning. 5 Fantastic Stars!!" ~Heaven
Holy Cow!!! There is nothing worse than planning a wedding, coming home and find your mother…yes, your own mother in bed with your fiancé!!! OH SNAP!!!
That was all it took for Daphne to swear off men. Well not 100%...a girls got to have her fun yanno. But a serious relationship, uh…no thanks. Finding Mr. Right no longer exists…It’s finding Mr. Right Now. Moving away from the toxic environment, here we are 7 years later.
Caleb has always been the ‘adult’ figure in his house. Always taking care of Mother after finding out that Father has once again cheated on her. Taking care of Father to ensure the name stays clean among the society folk. He’s seen what his parents’ marriage is like….and wants nothing to do with marriage.
When Caleb and Daphne get together though, its hot, its steamy, its full of fighting. But dang it…it works for them. Can these two possibly go from a casual fling to admit to each other they both want more?
While this is a pretty straight forward, pretty predictable book, with scenes reminding me of quite a few others that are out there, it was a quick and enjoyable book to read.
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, sweet love, and heartbreak.
Before reading this story please read the below books first Seducing Lola (Girl Talk #1) Tempting Sophia (Girl Talk #2)
This is Daphne and Caleb’s story. Daphne knows what is like having her heart broken. Her man abandoned her right before there wedding. She is not looking for commitment after that disastrous event. She can be happy without a man. When Caleb comes into her life he does not remember that they met before. One night leads to more as they decide not to fight the pull. But what happens when feelings start to get involved? Is this the end? Should they end it before they start to fall for each other or is it just too late for that? Can these two have a future with all they have had to deal with in the past?
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
4.5 stars! Such a great read! Loved Daphne and Caleb!
Daphne and Caleb have demons that haunt them in regards to relationships. Both enjoy no strings encounters and neither is looking for love. But well, nothing ever goes as planned! I loved their banter and their chemistry. A great story with all the feels!
This series is so awesome and i was glad i got to read this book in the beginning of this year. Jessica prince has given me the perfect new year gift. Daphne & Caleb were just amazing and Caleb even gave Grayson a run for his money. This series if definitely one of my fav and i loved every bit of this story. ARC generously provided by the author in exchange of an honest review
I like how this story has some of the events in the first two books since the timeliness are the same for all three books, but that each book can be read as a standalone. I usually like accidental pregnancy tropes, and this one is no exception.
Look no further! This romantic read will leave you in equal parts a giggling mess on the floor as well as swoon until you melt into a puddle of goo. Enticing Daphne doesn't disappoint and lives up the other books I've read by Jessica Prince. Chalk full of female power and empowerment, it's sexy, funny, angsty, and oh so satisfying! I adored every minute of this rom-com.
I fell head over bottom for the girls starting in SEDUCING LOLA. I was most anxious to read Daphne's story though - especially given all the hints in the previous novellas. It was great to finally see what drove her and for her to get her HEA.
I have loved this series from Lola, to Sophia, and now ending with Daphne. These woman are the bomb in so many ways. I love how Jessica Prince intertwined Daphne's story while Lola and Sophia's love life was running full speed ahead. I knew things were happening in the back ground with Caleb. I just didn't realize hpw much history these two had.
When Daphne caught Caleb's eye in the office, it was a slap to the face. That sting could be felt around the world. But Daphne stayed glorious and was ready to let it all go. Until Caleb couldn't. The chemistry was off the charts with these two. But they had a lot of baggage from the past that kept them from moving forward. From the get go, I secretly wished that these two would just be together,
Enticing Daphne has new passion. You get a birds eye view of their worlds colliding. The unexpected plot had me hooked! This book was everything and more that I could hope it would end. I can not talk about it enough and was happy that it was my first book to read in 2018!
Daphne doesn’t believe in true love. She was burned by her own mother and her fiancé Stephan. That whole fiasco was enough to turn her off. She may not believe in love, but she sure as hell believes that she can have a good time with a hot partner.
I gave up on finding Mr. Right and started concentrating on finding Mr. Right Now.
She and her friends Sophia and Lola have a radio talk show instructing women how to make the most of their lives.
After a particularly bad day she finds herself deep in Mojito’s. Enter gorgeous guy with the gorgeous eyes. Commence the witty conversation, followed by an incredible one night stand. Names are not exchanged.
By the time I finally dressed and headed back to my house, I’d come three more times. And just like he’d promised, I had trouble walking thanks to my jelly-like legs. Best. One-night stand. Ever.
Months later, Daphne still hasn’t forgotten hot guy. So imagine her surprise when he shows up in her office. Seems he’s a friend of Grayson Lockhart’s. The owner of the radio station. The guy who wants Lola. His name is Caleb McMannus. Daphne is mortified. What will she say to him? How much more awkward can this get? Buckle up those seatbelt ladies, cause it’s gonna get a whole lot more awkward.
Let’s just say that I had a hard time with this plot line. I mean they shared crazy, wild, the best they’ve ever had sex and then…..hmmm.
Oh hell no.
The story is told from both POV’s so we get inside Caleb’s head. He has an explanation but I’m still not feeling it.
If I didn’t make it right, there’d be no chance of me getting her back into bed, and now that I knew she was only a few floors away, every single fiber of my body cried out to go caveman on her ass and drag her back to my cave for a repeat performance.
I’ve decided to move on, shake off the part I didn’t like, and I’m glad I did. Daphne is a strong character and Caleb is slightly tortured. Maybe I’ll give him a pass after all.
"A momentary bout of stupidity on my part,” I quipped.
Caleb is funny, really funny. The dialogue is great and the story really picks up after this. There’s family drama and a little twist to spice things up. There’s plenty of Lola and Sophia and we get a little more details about Fiona. (who we started out hating in Seducing Lola, but quickly made her part of our group) Her story is next. (I’m thinking Deacon, Caleb’s friend, will bring a ton of angst to her story)
" You told me that you take care of what’s yours. Well, so do I, and you’re mine, Caleb."
4.5 Stars! Enticing Daphne is a technically a Standalone but it comes on the heels of two previous books featuring Daphne’s friends. This Romantic Comedy was a funny and fast paced read, with secondary characters that are constantly meddling in each other’s business, in the most loving way, and it makes for some hilarious situations. As any good story goes there are a few moments of angst and conflict that adds to it. So if you’re in the mood for a sexy and fun romance, look no further, this story is delightful!
Poor Daphne King! She broke up with her fiancé, and her mother, on the same day. She kind of had to, after walking in on them in bed together, days before their wedding. Her relationship with her mother had always been a little strange, she’d always acted more like one of Daphne’s peers and less like a parent, so this was just the icing on the cake. Luckily for Daphne she had some amazing friends that loved and supported her. The tight group went on to be founding members of the All Guys Are Assholes club and until recently had firmly believed in it. Well, Daphne was still in the club, she was staying true to her belief that HEA didn’t exist, even if her friends were currently on the fence about it.
“True love didn’t exist. Well, maybe it did, but not without consequences. And I’d been bitten by that particularly poisonous snake once already. I wasn’t about to let it strike again. I gave up on finding Mr. Right and started concentration on finding Mr. Right Now.”
Case in point: Daphne has the best one-night stand of her life, with a handsome man she met in a bar, without exchanging names or phone numbers and had no regrets about it. Until she sees him, two and a half months later where she works, and finds out he’s now part of the new management that took over the company. And that his name is Caleb. Oh, and he doesn’t recognize her.
“What the hell just happened?” “Seems to me you just got blown off by the insanely hot Daphne King. What’d you do, bang her and forget to call her the next day or something?” “What? Of course not! I’d remember someone like h—“ “Holy shit, you totally forgot her didn’t you? You forgot having sex with Daphne King? Jeez, man, are you crazy? That woman’s like God’s gift to the universe.”
Caleb isn’t really the manwhore Daphne thinks he is, he just had his own traumatic experience with his own dysfunctional parents and their toxic relationship, and as a result had sworn off relationships and commitment. They just didn’t exist, as far as he was concerned. This is where the story takes off and we’re pulled along for the ride. So sit back and enjoy, it’s a fun one!
I Voluntarily Reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book!
So much to say about this scorching little number by Jessica Prince. Jessica knows her charachters and she breathes life into them through those creative fingers. Enticing Daphne is about second chance love after giving up hope of any fairy tale ever happenning. Its also about redemption and looking past someone's so called "charachter flaws" and find finding a diamond in the rough. Sometimes it's the little things that create a beautiful big way of defining a person and their soul. I truly believe this book was more about "Finding Caleb".
Daphne King is the 3rd part of "Girl Talk". The live radio show in Seattle that helps to better inform women and men on the challenges of dating and some other spicy topics. Daphne is single and not looking for a relationship status change anytime soon. As long as she can locate a suitor for the evening and return to her "happy" life, all is good in her world. Too bad she doesn't realize her life will turn upside down when a certain playboy sets his sites on Daphne. No amount of patience is going to get her through any encounter with Caleb McManus.
Caleb McManus is living it up being a sexy rich bachelor. Love is nowhere on his radar and he doesn't need it or want it. One night stands to make him forget his frustrating family is al he is looking for. Daphne King is the enticing part of the radio show at bandwidth communications. He is charmed by her fiestiness and enjoys a good challenge. However, it never occurred to him that Daphne has already held the title of one night stand in his bed. When he finally realizes it, after she goes to town with her heated words on him, this sets the tone for the future encounters. And lets just say its one sexy animal ride short of a roller coaster with these two.
I seriously loved this little gem. It was charming and sexy and gave the readers the moments required and more in a good love story. So happy this one detailed the beautiful and sometimes tortured relationship between the two. It was sizzling from the first page to the last! Thank you, Jessica Prince!
I really enjoyed this book. This was my first read by Jessica Prince and I don't plan for it to be my last either.
This was about Daphne and Caleb. Daphne was done with love. After discovering that her fiance' was sleeping with her mother, Daphne is done with love. She is just going to go about her life and when she needs to she will hook up with someone but love isn't going to play a part in her life ever again. Caleb has spent his whole cleaning up after his parents and if that is what love it about then he doesn't want a single thing to do with it. He just goes from woman to woman and makes no longer term commitments as he wants nothing to do with Love.
This book was really good. Both of the characters make no apologies for the love them and leave them mentality they have. They have been burned in different ways and want nothing to do with love. They meet in a bar one night and hook up, since then Daphne felt that she was broken as Caleb (They don't know their names) was the best she has ever had. She is at work (she works on a radio show) and then in walks the man who has "broken" her.. but he looks at her like he has never seen her before. Caleb just wants to get to know this beautiful woman, until she shoots him a look of disgust. Then it clicks... he has slept with her.. he just forgot, what comes next is hilarious. The banter with all the characters especially with Daphne and Caleb were spot on and had me laughing out loud. I really liked how strong the characters were and that they were comfortable with who they are. Both characters are damaged but honestly, they can't get enough of each other.
The flow of the book was great, I consumed the entire thing in a night and it left me wanting more. the character development was good, I think we meet these characters in a time in their lives where they are sure of them selves and what they want out of life, so it was nice to see them cope with things that come up and what to do when life throws speed bumps in your path.
I can't wait to catch up on the other's stories and I am really looking forward to Deacon and Fiona. :) (I love these characters names by the way) 5 star read!!
