I gave the story 5 stars for being a very good mystery, suspense, and romance with some exceptional characters that kept me guessing what was going to happen next throughout the story. The setting is a quaint town of Rosebud, where three lovely sisters who own a shop called, Pinkadillys Books, Trinkets and Treasures that tourists and the towns people love to stop by and make purchases. The sisters get caught up in a mystery involving a pink opal and a gentlemen. Things start to get really strange, with ghosts and mysterious dreams they try to solve. This is the third book I've read from the author and I can say if you haven't read any of her books you should give this one and others a chance.
What a surprise. This book was refreshing and fun. I absolutely loved it and recommend it to everyone looking for something new. Great read, I couldn't put it down.
Wow! What an amazing & delightful story this is! I love a good cozy mystery and this absolutely exceeded my expectations! ... I’ve read this talented author’s other genre books in paranormal and love her imagination and style of writing, but I wondered about this change in genre. Needless to say, I needn't have worried as she hit it out of the park with this and now I am hooked! ... “The Mysterious Pink Opal” has a fresh & unique plot with fantastic descriptions that brings the story to life! Then there are tons of twists & turns that kept me guessing and glued to my seat not wanting to stop! Add to that a cast of delightful, well-defined characters and witty dialogue and you’ve got a real winner that will keep readers engaged and turning pages! It is nice to read a clean romance that I could definitely suggest to a teenager, or even my mom ;) lol ... I highly recommend this to all fans of fiction and can’t wait for more!
A Sweet Cozy Mystery that ties the past and the present.

This story has it all. A heart breaking mystery that ties the lives of three families from the past to the present. A story of love lost and new loves found, all around a single pink opal stone. Enough mystery to keep you entertained and enough romance to give you hope.
I really enjoyed this story and I wasn’t sure if I would because I don’t read mysteries very often if at all but it caught my interest and it was will worth it. I loved the sisters working together but having their own interest but together using their strengths. The story was so entertaining I am going to expand my interests
A good read. Nice atmosphere, spooky but not overwhelming, great attention to detail and well written. The characters are vivid and bright whilst feeling like everyday characters with a bit extra. A plot centring on a find of a mysterious pink Peruvian Opal pendant and has more romance stored away for the sister who thought she would always just have her cat for company. The book signing was going to be a pain and their sister hadn't even warned them. A mysterious shopper, a find whilst moving the antique counter, an inscription, dreams and ghosts. The more she researchs the family that she has dreamt about the more she learns. Two family lines closely entwined, two separate mansions and uneasy ghosts still waiting for peace. Can they give them that?
This is a lovely mystery with ghost, dreams, strange men, robberies, romances, old and budding. Joann Herley has woven a story of mystery starting generations ago with the discovery of an antique pink opal necklace that has sent dreams to Willamina. It was marvelous and I couldn't put it down.
