Little does she know the mystic snow globe will get her tangled up in a world of mystery she never could have imagined. With very few clues to go on, Johanna and Rocky are forced out of the comfort of their Manhattan apartment and into a real-life mystery, unlike the fictional kind Johanna is accustomed to.

Imaginative paracozy. Once I got through the first few chapters, the story really begin to pick up pace and make sense. The snow globe attracted my attention to this book because I love snow globes. And, magical cats. Then, when the snow globe figurine comes to life—I was into the mystery with the protagonist, Johanna, and had to see what happened next. An enjoyable way to spend your Cozy Reading time.

Johanna is a writer of mystery novels, but her life style after the death of her fiance has been very reclusive. Her family is worried about her. But she has her dog a mastiff named Rocky to keep her company. After her dog runs over a man she has occasionally seen in the park, one she has wondered - and truth be told dreamed about - for the past 5 years, she buys a snow globe from a second hand store. While shaking it she brings to life 2 witches, Es and Whitley who tell her she has the solve the mystery of the wedding dress that came with them from the snow globe.

This is a great start to a series and I was very impressed with the humor and fun in the story. I really loved the premise of the series, that the two witches imprisoned have to find out the mystery of all the dresses in the closet in the snow globe. Sounds like lots of fodder for future stories. Very likeable characters and well written.
Definitely read on in the series!

Fun but not fantastic or maybe I should point out there is a fantasy element that is quite cute and fun. The book is enchanting, it just isn't as good as I had hoped. I think most readers will enjoy the combination of mystery and fantasy at least as much as I.

𝑺𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝑪𝒂𝒔𝒆, Mystic Snow Globe Mysteries, Book #1
by M.Z. Andrews

First book in this series. It was a fun read. Mostly a romance, but with a real mystery wrapped up in it. Lots of action, lots of angst, some red herrings, plenty of Christmas get-togethers, good plotting and pacing, nice flow, interesting characters, nice tie-up at the end, with no cliffhanger ending.

There was a lot of romantic angst that I could of done without. I'm not fond of women who do not value themselves, and/or spend their time bemoaning how no one could find them interesting or attractive. The male main character was nice, but, shrug. For the series, luckily, the main characters in the book are not the main characters in the series. That honor falls to Whitley, currently a resident of a snow globe, but a sometimes ghost-like character, and her sister, Esmeralda, currently firmly ensconced in the body of Sophie, the cat. Long story short, Johanna is a successful novelist and clumsy introvert who lost her fiance in an accident some years ago. Mitch is an outgoing business man who lost his bride to murder the day before the wedding. They pass each other in the park, him on his way home and her walking her dog, Rocky, about every day for 5 years, but have never met. In the single space of a few hours, they meet when Rocky, an English Mastiff, knocks Mitch down in the park, forcing Johanna and Mitch to formally meet, and Johanna and Rocky discover a lovely, but grumpy, gray cat in an antique store who leads them to a snow globe in which a young woman sits sewing. On a dress form in the globe, is the loveliest wedding dress Johanna has ever seen. Smitten with the globe, she buys it, and the cat follows her and Rocky home, where shaking the globe and making a wish brings the girl, Whitley, out of the globe, and the cat, Esmeralda, begins talking. The jist is that there is a mystery surrounding the dress in the globe, and Esmeralda is stuck being a cat, and Whitley is stuck in the snow globe until they solve it. When the mystery connects to Mitch's murdered fiance, he and Johanna are off on a whirlwind investigation, with a lot of romance, and two family Christmas gatherings, thrown in for good measure.

I enjoyed the book. I also liked Whitley and Esmeralda much more than I liked Johanna and Mitch, so I'm relieved that the next couple of books in the series (there seem to be just the three at this time) features Whitley and Exmeralda rather than the other two. I'll be putting those books on my "to read" list for 2020.

I loved it. I love cozy mysteries but not so much when it revolves around the characters love life and it feels like the mystery is just an after thought. This is so not the case with this book and in fact a lot of thought has gone into this book to get the mystery, the romance and magic just right and In my opinion the author did. I loved the authors witch squad series otherwise I might not have given this book ago, a romantic mystery would have put me off and I would have missed out on a real treat. The mystery was good and in fact at the start Johanna doesn't even know what she is investigating other than a mystery that needs solving. I loved the characters from the excitable dog to the moody cat that can talk all are a lot fun and at times quiet funny. The romance (which as I said tends to put me off) was sweet and defiantly a hallmark kind, it wasn't to lovey dovey or jumping into bed and the mystery was the main focus I hope there are more books in the series to come.
Mystery writer Johanna feels drawn to the snow globe in the antiques shop and it is only when she and her dog Rocky get it back home that she finds out why. The shop cat has followed her home and despite Rocky's best efforts she isn't going anywhere.because she too is mesmerized by the snow globe. After Jo shakes the globe she find the girl that once lived in the ball is now In her living room and she and her talking cat need the reclusive Jo to help them solve a mystery. The girls need the mystery surrounding the dresses in the wardrobe solved before the curse placed on them can be lifted. The only clue they have is the dry cleaning label left on the wedding dress. As Jo starts to investigate she discovers the lady who's dress it was, was murdered before she could pick it up. Can Jo, the ghost girl from the globe and her sister the talking cat find out what happened to her? Christmas is a time for magic and Jo finds that by shaking the globe she might just find what she has been dreaming of too and that's not just becoming involved in her very own mystery investigation.
I liked the narrator and thought she put her voice to good use by giving the characters all there own voice and unique character

An excellent work by a very talented author! It is a paranormal series so not all of the characters are 'believable' in the accepted sense of the word, but they are all endearing (even the cat ;) I must admit I was a bit surprised, and maybe a little disappointed, when I realized the actual heros of the series are not who I thought they would be!

The story line is well developed and completes the current story while leaving you wondering what will happen in the next. The plot takes a few rubber-necking twists which keeps you turning the pages, and the non-mystic characters in the book are people that you would just love to live next door to; warm, caring, down to earth - and flawed in the best of ways.

A little bit of heartbreak, a little bit of romance, a little bit of healing and a whole lot of clumsy comedy; Johanna and Rocky (it isn't who you think) will capture your heart.

A woman in a Snow Globe, and a cat that is a little/lot snarky and a Wedding Dress woth a mystery surrounding it. Johanna Hughes got a big surprise when said snow globe erupted into snow and bright lights and before she know what was going on Whitney ( witch ) and sister Esmeralda ( cat, but in real life a witch too. ) Snow was in front of her well Whitney was Essy was sitting and looking up. Well long story short they have to find out about this wedding dress that Whitney has embellished and solve it before its to late and Johanna become the next Jeannie in the Snow Globe. So now with Whitney, Esmeralda,Rocky, and Mitch by her side they need to find out fast before it to late for Mitch and JoJo and the Snow Sisters.

Hallmark Eligible?

While not the usual beautiful female with two opposite personality suitors, the story has that feels good romance with the tension provided by the personal back stories of Jo and Mitch which contribute to the romantic tension in their relationship. Add in a big, loving and lovable Mastiff and a woman and cat imprisoned in a snow globe mystery to be solved, and one gets a somewhat predictable tale of romance and mystery. Who killed Felicia? Is Jo in danger? Will that Snow Globe wedding dress mystery mystery ever be solved? Add to the cast of likeable characters, Jo's loving but intrusive family, and the holiday (Christmas) season, and the reader gets a Hallmark worthy read.

Wonderful romantic mystery with a touch of fantasy

The snow globe attracted my attention so I gave this book a chance.
I have been so pleased with this discovery-What a treasure read-.
But I also mildly disappointed when discovered that this was the only book in the series (so far.) So I have to wait awhile before next book out.

Reclusive mystery writer, Johanna Hughes and her big hearted English Mastiff, Rockland Gable Hughes 'Rocky', stumbled upon a cat that lure her to buy a snow globe.

Well edited story with twists and turns that keeps me guessing til the end; romance, family dramas and loveable pets

Snow globes and mystery

I loved this story and the mystery. I cannot wait to read more stories about the dresses and the mysteries that go along with them.

Whit and Essy are the two main characters of the stories but it is the dresses and the mysteries that go along with each encounter that is the star of the story.

In this story it is a wedding dress and a murder that looks like a mugging. The story is about how JoJo and Mitch find each other and how they come to slice the mystery of his late fiancé.

Terrific read that has a new twist on a familiar theme

Great little read. Take a reclusive author, a magical snow globe, a curse and a wedding dress and you have a terrific little cozy. Was the previous owner of the wedding dress really mugged or was it more sinister? Can she get to the truth before she gets trapped in the snow globe? Great plot that will give you suspects and more twists and turns then you expect. With vivid characters that you will relate too. Great dialogue and Es the cat adds a really great dimension to the work.

Christmas Wishes and Finding Love Again

I chose 5 gold stars but I wanted to put a thousand more gold stars this book was that good. A Christmas Wish and two broken hearted people find what Christmas Wishes are about as JoJo and Mitch find and figure out what happened to Mitch's dead girl friend on the day of their wedding rehearsal dinner. With ghost Whitney and a cat Esmeralda and Rocky they have to find answers quick or it will be JoJo in the snow globe; and also finding true love again for JoJo and Mitch. I can't wait to read the next one in the series.

Snow globes can be mysterious.

I took a chance and read this book. It held my interest so that I couldn't put it down. It's a real mystery story with a touch of romance. I especially liked when the snow globe opened and out came a girl and the cat started talking. And no one could see the girl but JoJo. It's a wonderful story and now I have to find another book like this one. I hope every one who reads it will enjoy it as much as I did.

A very clever twist or more to a murder mystery.

Enjoyable characters that you can laugh, cry, and get frustrated with their antics are found in this second book of the Mystic Snow Globe series.
Well edited story with twists and turns, romance, family dramas, and lovable pets can provide entertainment for hours.
I love a mystery that highlights the possible suspects, but leaves you guessing until the end. I look forward to the next mystery.

Snow Globe, mystery and romance

I enjoyed M.Z. Andrew's witch series and so I decided to check out this book. I can say I wasn't disappointed! This book was so different from others I have read with witches and magic involved. I found it hard to put the book down. The Snow sisters and their usual situation- in a snow globe and a cat!!! The mystery writer, JoJo, her fun family and finding love after a loss. I can't wait to read the next book!

This was an awesome book to read! I enjoyed every second of it, didn't want it to end. Is definitely one of the better written novels, no grammar errors, great plot line, interesting heart-felt characters, background history. Yes I cried when I found out about James. Felicia too. I also like how the author puts in his perspective also, so we know what his feelings are too! Great read, will definitely be reading the next one.

Snowglobe Mysteries

Who doesn't love to pick up a snow globe and shake it? Well, this new series starts with a bang..a magical snowglobe, a talking cat and a closet full of dresses. What happens next is enchanting and the characters so vivid, that you feel like you know them and can't help cheering them on and falling a little in love yourself. Read this magical book and enjoy. Best enjoyed in front of a roaring fire 🔥 with a cup of cocoa.

Nice cozy read

JoJo is a mystery writer with her dog Rocky. They stumble upon a snow globe. To her surprise the girl and cat come out. No one can see Whitney nor can hear the cat talk except JoJo. They have to solve the mystery of the wedding dress that was in the globe. This leads to good fun with JoJo being-so clumsy . Which in turn makes her run into Mitch. Very good read. Enjoyed it.

Very good

What a richly textured story! This is a touch darker than expected but still manages some more lighthearted moments! Johanna is a hot mess of a mystery author who's lead to become the caretaker of the snowglobe, releasing Whitley and allowing Es to speak. Their efforts to solve the mystery of the wedding dress lead to multiple good outcomes, and the journey is a pleasure for the reader in this imaginative tale.

Very good

When I read the prequel to this series, I couldn't quite figure out how this series was going to work. But I'm a fan of M.Z. Andrews so I forged onwards and I'm glad I did because this turned out to be a good mystery with a little romance and magic. The series works for me and I'm ready for the mystery of the next dress!

OK, how can a murder mystery make you laugh? Well this one will make you laugh many times! A little magic going on to make it a bit more interesting. A family you will fall in love with. A book that has it all. A gentle murder mystery is how I would list it, and I truly adored it!
