I read a.lot!!!! I am so tired of the same old plotlines. This was different, not to mention hysterical!!! I could literally see the scenes..his holler, his garage, Bubba's lime green tow truck. This book and the characters were just adorable. I also like how Nate spoke to the reader... and I think, sometimes expected us to answer.

I highly recommend this book, I can't wait for the next one!!!

Taryn Bradley's debut novel, Half Moon Holler, blew me away!!!! You would never guess this was a debut. It is so very well written.
It's told first person POV, and stays with the same person through the whole book. Usually, I don't care for this style but Bradley pulled it off flawlessly. Even though you only see the characters through Nate's (hero) eyes you get such a good picture of them. You can really see them, their personalities, and I have fallen in love with the whole little town of Half Moon.
And Nate's inner dialogue= life. His thought train is hilarious.
Half Moon Holler is stand-alone, but it looks like my new favorite community is getting it's own series with some more of these amazing characters I just met and I can't wait!!!!!!!

Well, that was disappointing

3.5 Stars

This started out really good. The flow of the writing and both Nate and Cassie were super interesting.
I kept waiting for the action considering how Cassie ended up there. Then I kept waiting for ANY action. But alas, there was none. He didn't even kiss her until about 65% in the book & the sex scene we do get was lukewarm.
I'm not sure exactly where it hit me but this came off as a daily diary for Nate. And somewhere around 50% or less Nate started sounding more like a woman than a man. His thoughts were becoming boring and highly unrealistic of any man.
I had hoped I'd found a new author to love. What I found is yet another 'Not For Me'.
While there is a fair amount of cursing there is nothing else that could be rated X. Or for that matter not even R or in my opinion PG-13 🤣

This was different for me. Told from H's point of view. He is a sweet guy, not an alpha arsehole, liked what he sees in the h on sight. Everything moving along until they hit the bar, it seems he slept with pretty much half the town, often, and with someone who is in love with someone else, he knows this and sleeps with her anyways because who she is in love with is sowing his oats. Now I no longer care so much for the H. Him allowing the other women to hang on him dropped him another notch.
Had this whole thing not happened it would have been a really nice story, an awesome story. There was slow burn, they took months getting to know each other, let the h reinvent herself and just be. Loved the ending

Wow, Half Moon Holler is a fantastic southern read. Nate and Cassie just made me want to cry laugh and dance. I couldn't put this down. And the whole time my own inner southern accent was speaking to as Nate told his story. I cannot wait for more from Miss Taryn Bradley

Such a good book!

This is one of the best books I've read in a while. I loved that it was from the guy's POV. It was funny and sweet and had a great ending. I look forward to reading more books from this author!

One of a Kind!

This is one of the sweetest, most enjoyable, intense books I have read in a very long time! Nathan is a man that has been raised right. He has all the qualities of a very well mannered gentleman. He is also hot! Cassie has what it takes to be the snobby, richy, rich girl but deep down she is as down to earth and as Nathan.

I can’t say it enough, I love this book! The entire plot is written so well. It is written in Nathan’s point of view and has the little bits that make you think and smile. He also points out his own good points as well as his flaws. Nathan’s fascination with Cassie is immediate. She brings out the protective instincts in him. He knows she is having problems and does whatever he can to help her to be independent.

Cassie has problems that she can’t handle alone. Nathan and his best friend, Bubba, do what they can to help insure that Cassie has a fair break. She wins the hearts of everyone in their little community of Half Moon.

This story brings you right into the Holler and shows you just how deeply these townsfolk feel towards their own. The deep south way of life is described in the most detailed way that make you want to move right now. I love the atmosphere of the diner and the way they all look out for each other. Without revealing any spoilers, there are parts that make you laugh out loud, make you cry a little and make you proud right along with the characters. It has all of the ingredients of a great love story, along with all the feels!

Even though I didn’t want this book to end, I couldn’t read it fast enough. I am definitely looking forward to the next book in this series. It’s bound to be just as entertaining! Great job!

I loved this book!! I just stumbled upon the book while trying to find my next KU read and thought I'd give it a try and am so glad that I did! I loved the idyllic and cute small town setting, and all of the side characters and towns people. The story was absolutely charming and fun. It was all told in Nate's POV, and he is so funny...loved getting his take on everything that was happening (and not happening lol)! I usually like dual POV, but I really didn't even miss the other POV in this story. I loved the way Nate told their story. The whisky/sippy cup stuff was so flipping funny, I totally loved it. I laughed out loud a lot while reading! Speaking of Nate, he was total book boyfriend material and I loved Cassie so much as well. When we were first introduced to her I was afraid she was going to be an uptight snob, but she was the total opposite. She was exactly what the town needed, and the town was exactly what she needed too.
If I had to name one complaint about this book, it would just be about the heat factor. It was absolutely a slow burn, which I don't mind, but once we finally got a sex scene, that was about it. There was enough book left to give us some more heat, but we didn't really get it. So if you love lots of heat and sex scenes in your romances, this one might be a bit tame for you. It was still so good though, and I was ok with the lack of spicy scenes because I loved everything else so much. I'm excited to dive in to book 2!

Nathan is a tattooed, biker, mechanic back woodsman who seems strangely metrosexual for a hillbilly. He's up there on all the exclusive designers (thanks to an interest in leather work and a hairdresser with lots of magazines); I love that he recognises designs on sight, I couldn't distinguish Target from Kmart and yet he can pick a Prada from a Gucci from and Donna Karan.

Cassandra is a Prada Princess, a look down her nose, used to the finer things in life girl who's car trouble and life trouble and a wrong turn off the highway lands her in Nathan's life and out of her comfort zone. But with each first encounter an entire town is won over by Cass and a heart is taken over.

Rita Mae's is a good old down home small town cafe, where everything that can happen does and Rita Mae feeds the souls and stomachs of her town with comfort food and comforting smiles. A story of how people cope with those little hardships within their own house; sippy cups.

So for a touching and at times heartbreakingly great read interspersed with coffee choking belly laughs you CANNOT go past HALF MOON HOLLER; do yourself a favour and read!

5 Stars just isn’t enough!

When I first stumbled on this book, I was like ok I’d give it a shot. Like who knows it might be a good book, well I’m here to say that I was absolutely floored over how great it was! I’ve never read anything from Taryn prior to this book, hell I’ve never even heard of her and with only having 21 reviews from a book that got released nearly 2 years ago I honestly thought it’d be a bust. I’m so thankful I read it. This story kept my attention almost from page one. It was an amazing read, the characters are well developed and definitely illustrate how they change over time. Nathan and Cassie get together because of one ill fated U-turn and I’m so pleased to have been able to read their story. It’s one of friendship, patience, trust, and ultimately soul deep love. I highly recommend reading this story. Don’t let the low number reviews hinder you from enjoying one great love story!!

The last third is stupendous

I wasn’t completely sold on the story even up to the first half of the book, some parts seemed too drawn out and I get slow burn but this was like lighting a fire in a monsoon, and then the climatic last third of the book and it was sooooo wonderfully heartfelt without being cheesy so breathtakingly lovely I just appreciated so much more the road to that part of the story.

Read it, love it, laugh away

*side note I really really really really hate this idea that small town life is the only way to have genuine community, i live downtown of a metropolis I know most of my neighbors their family their children it’s a great community and we are about as far from rural America as one can get, just a minirant

Sweet, funny story

This is such a sweet story packed full of humor. There were several laugh out loud moments and I did shed a few tears.

The story is told from Nate's POV. Nate is a sweet ol' southern boy who crushes on the girl that fate puts on his doorstep. He'll do everything he can to help Cassie with the help of a bunch of fun characters from Half Moon.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next book in the series.

True love

Cassie aka Prada meets Nathan at his repair shop. She doesn't have much money and no place to go. He offers her a place to stay. This story builds on their relationship, her previous life and love and a town that becomes family. This a great book and so loved the story.

Loved this

This was such a great story. The 'feel' of it was a little different, but once I got into the flow of the story I just fell in love with Half Moon and the wonderful people of this little town. I really enjoyed Nate & Cassie's story and was very sad to have to say goodbye.

Half Moon Holler by Taryn Bradley is the first book of her Half Moon series and I have to say this book surprised me of just how good it was. Who doesn't love a damsel in distress (Prada) who took a wrong turn and lands in Nate's office, her crooked boyfriend wanted by the feds, plus Rita Mae's cafe which is straight from my childhood. Should I mention that Nathan has the best pets ever in Blue who can shift loyalties in seconds and of course Mr. Whiskers who loves whiskey so much that everyone needs sippy cups to keep him on the "wagon". There are more citizens with each of their own quirks in the little town of Half Moon Hallow that'll keep you in giggles through the entire book. Oh, did I mention that Nate's Grandma Suze is a hippie artist who had me wishing that I could meet her.

Nothing much happens in Half Moon that Nathan owner of the auto repair shop plus a leather works business on the side and his best friend Bubba who with his sister have the only tow business. But when a Jaguar S-Type comes in with Bubba little does he know that Cassandra Jane Reimer (AKA Prada) will not only bring the car but also her fantastic pies but will show all the businesses in Half Moon that they are worth getting folks off the interstate to visit the town. He'll offer his Love shack to stay in and possibly lose his heart to Prada/Cassie. But they'll have to navigate the FBI who thinks Cassie has her ex's gun running information but she had no idea that Paolo did for money. There will a trial once the feds find Cassie is found and a surprise ending but when she falls ill everyone in the town will rally to take care of her including finding her dad.

Trust me when I say I loved this book so much I already have the second one on my Kindle and hope that Ms. Bradley continues the series with the rest of

I love reading a book that has me so involved I don't want to put it down. Half Moon Holler is just such a book. I fell in love with the small-town characters and the quaint little town itself. They are hardworking people who stick together through thick and thin and come out stronger as a community. I'm glad to know there are more books in the series.
Nate is not your usual Southern gentleman, but even though he is style-conscious and tats, his roots run deep in Half Moon. His story runs the gamut from humorous to heart-wrenching but it is a delightful ride. His unique POV and narrative style always allows the reader to know what's going on.
He has some of the best one-liners I've had the privilege of reading. A man who saw himself as a lifelong bachelor, he is totally blindsided by a "long cool woman in a black dress" climbing out of his friend Bubba's tow truck.
For Cassie, a wrong U-turn on her flight from her ex-fiancé turned out to be a very right turn in her life. Broken by her circumstances, she finds solace in the town of Half Moon and a leatherworking mechanic's hospitality. However, her past isn't done with her. Though chemistry is flaring the road for the couple is not smooth. I know from reading another book by this author, the unexpected twist is her specialty but so is humor. The Daisy Duke contest may be reason enough to read this book.
I highly recommend this book and can't wait to dive into the next in the series. Grab a glass of sweet tea and settle in to feel the magic of the Holler.

This is my very first read from this author and I was not disappointed. I will definitely be checking out more from this author in the future!

Everything about this story is extraordinary from the writing including the author’s phenomenal knack for excellent details, to the characters, the build up, and the fabulous storyline. I was pulled into Nathan and Prada/Cassie’s story from the very first page. The writing pulls you in like your standing right there with them every step of the way. You live this entire journey with every single one of the characters. The details within the writing allow you to truly visualize everything... people and places alike. And the feels, well it as them ALL... I laughed a lot and cried a couple of times. I fell in love with Half Moon and everyone of the residents I met along the way.

This is by far one of my top 5 EVER reads!!

Highly Recommend!

Half Moon Holler

I absolutely loved this story. This is definitely a RomCom with a little angst mixed into the fun. Nathan Bentley is our male lead and this story is only in his POV. Cassie aka Prada aka Princess Reimer was the leading lady. Nate's character is an Southern gentleman, with an alpha side who loves fashion and the latest trends. He has tats, a beard, piercing and rides a Indian motorcycle and his best friends name is Bubba. He has a cat that loves whiskey, a dog named Blue, lives on a Holler and has a Love Shack. I fell in love with his character, the storyline was sweet, sexy and funny. I am so glad I found this author. Happy Reading!!

Loved this book!!! Taryn Bradley is a new to me author. I’m so glad I took a chance with this book.

Nate is amazing! Kind, gentle and protective of Cassie. Knows immediately that she’s the one.

Cassie is strong and independent. Can stand up for herself and doesn’t put up with crap. Kind hearted and wants to help everyone and they in term make her feel included and loved.

This book had all the feels and emotions a great book should. Book 2 in the series is queued up next. Can’t wait to read what happens to Bubba!

Good

I stayed up too late finishing so I'm writing this half asleep. Though the main character, Nathan, has one of the most feminine inner voices for an almost alpha male, it was forgivable largely because it was surprisingly humorous as well. I chuckled regularly through the book except when it got heavy.

My only other critique was I didn't feel much sizzle between the couple, but it wasn't bad enough to be unbelievable. Overall a very enjoyable read and I look forward to more from thus author.

Sweet and cute

Sweet little romance told from "His" point of view. The story is set in a small town in Alabama. I like that the writer didn't use all the stupid cliches a lot of other writers like to use (to the extreme). Just because you are from the south or a small town, doesn't mean you are uneducated and speak like you are.
Anyway, the story was well wriitten and the side characters are great. Really a grood read.

I gave this a rating of a 5 because it made me laugh! The dialogue, especially Nate's, is just a hoot! Full of one-liners appropriate for the situation. Plus it was a sweet story...without the stereotypical plot, just an ordinary plot of two good people, who shouldn't meet each other but do, and how their lives entwine.

I want to know more about the people and community of Half Moon, Alabama.
