I had to read this for work so I’m counting it towards my goal because this was about the silliest thing I’ve read. And that’s saying something because I got paid for it.

I had to read this for my Food Sanitation class. The textbook was really quick to read and was easy to understand and helpful. There's pictures to help apply to the words, and it wasn't entirely boring to read. If you have to read this book I recommend buying it and not renting it because there is a lot of writing and exercises ServSafe wants you to do.

I wouldn't have bothered to read this, but I needed to for work. It's boring, as I expected, but they give you trick questions. I hate that.

I had to read this for my certification; however, I found it easy to read and simple to understand. It explained the process that helps one understand why one would complete the task in a certain way instead of another. In addition, there are examples at the beginning of each chapter explaining what could happen that one would want to try to avoid. There are quizzes amidst each section to help further ones understanding of the material, which I found helpful. Overall, it helped my understanding more.

It’s time to retest for my ServSafe Certification and it’s super helpful to read through the book. So obviously not my book of choice but definitely crucial for me to ensure a passing grade. There’s so many pictures/diagrams to give visuals of what you’re reading which are really nice to help you understand what you’re learning. Also, love love love the fact that there’s chapter summaries for each chapter as well as practice quizzes to test your knowledge.

The fact that this book is even listed on Goodreads just cracks me up! It's essentially a text book, but hey, I consider it an accomplishment that I read it from cover to cover. I am well versed in all things regarding kitchen and food safety. All topics were covered easily and thoroughly with charts, visual aids, chapter summaries, study questions and answers. Everything you need to know about running a commercial kitchen is right here.

Read this book to help me study for my ServSafe manager exam. As someone new into the restaurant industry this book covers the basic fundamentals of protecting customers and your business as it relates to the health and safety of the kitchen. Its a pretty straightforward read with good self study tests along the way.

Rich with information on regulations for safely preparing and serving food. But dry as the oldest bone as a read. Just hope I passed the test.

Great info in the book. It's honestly hard not to pass the test if you actually read the book. It's a bit of a boring read obviously but it's still super helpful

I like to read books for pleasure but this time it comes with a little bit of pressure. Didn’t read this by choice but sometimes you just have to take what’s given to you. After all it’s for free and I did learn a lot from this book. We all love food, especially the instagrammable ones, but somebody has to love food safety, too. This book made me appreciate all the fuss about food safety. Really hadn’t taken that course seriously when I took that as my elective back in college. My appreciation for my undergraduate degree and my job comes in full circle today. I just hope my appreciation will be reflected on my test results on Wednesday.

P.S.
For a person who dreams of owning a cafe someday, this is really useful. In fact this should be one of the books you have to read.

This was the required reading and study material for the ServSafe class my employer (a franchised Sonic Drive-In restaurant) enrolled me in as part of my assistant management training. Some of the information covered in this book is common sense, but the bulk of the book covers technical food storage/preparation and required safety measures when doing so. Although I found myself getting bored quickly while reading (it is, after all, a dryly-written textbook), it did prepare me very well for the actual ServSafe test.
