After seven years in an unfulfilling relationship, Caydence Millings decides that it’s better to be single than be with someone who doesn’t care about her needs. Raw from emotional and sexual frustration she is determined to explore her pent-up desires and find not only herself, but maybe the man of dreams too.
On her road to sexual discovery Caydence meets two wildly different men. On one hand there's Ayden, the sexy lifeguard who makes it clear he’s down for a good time. His carefree attitude screams “boy toy” and his easy sexuality draws her in and arouses her curiosity. On the other hand is Damien, a recent divorcee who lives in her condominium complex. Not only is he attractive, he genuinely wants to get to know her and has all the qualities she wants in a long-term relationship.
What’s a girl to do when two polar opposite men are willing to help her explore her needs? Will Caydence choose to play with the boy toy or take a chance on something that could be the real deal?
My favorite pastime is sitting in a beach chair on the sand by the water's edge, reading my current favorite novel. I love contemporary romance, romance thrillers, mysteries, and true crime.
If you don't find me with my head stuck in a book reading, then you can find me writing or researching our next travel escapade. Although I love exploring new places and every beach I can, I stay rooted at home in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. It's the most welcoming place on earth to me.

This was the first book I've ever read by Jadyn Lucas and I was very impressed with her writing skills. Caydence's explorations in the story kept me second guessing, which is a rarity for me. I am usually able to follow a story and guess what will happen next from the character actions but Ms. Lucas definitely surprised me at various points. I'm not big on giving away spoilers in reviews, so all I can say is you have to pick this book up and check for yourself. It's definitely reflective of Ms. Lucas having the writer's talent and I feel that it is just the beginning of many other beautiful stories to come. Kudos, Jadyn! <3
I loved the premise of this book but the execution was terribly poor. I don't leave bad reviews lightly as an author spent time and energy creating their book. However, in this case the book simply wasn't ready for publication and needed story and line editing as well as proofreading. The writing was inconsistent and unclear as well as riddled with grammatical errors and incorrect words. There was even a chapter which seemed to be in the wrong place as something was revealed to have happened which had suddenly not yet happened again by the next chapter, only for it to finally occur and stick in the following chapter! Very confusing.
The story finished abruptly, mid-scene at 87% with really zero exploration about the relationship between Caydence and the man she doesn't choose - just one line where he basically says 'oh, it's fine, I just want you to be happy'. Which is nice and supportive but not satisfying after so much build up, and as both men are supposed to be her friends I would expect more.
I didn't understand Damien as a character at all, he seemed like a caricature, but I could really see elements of Ayden as a real person - his vibrancy sprang off the page and he was definitely my favourite character.
Boy Toy by Jadyn Lucas is a bold, emotionally charged exploration of desire, vulnerability, and rediscovery. It captures the raw honesty of a woman reclaiming her sensuality and sense of self after years in a passionless relationship.
Caydence Millings is refreshingly real flawed, curious, and ready to stop apologizing for what she wants. Her journey of self-exploration feels empowering rather than indulgent, as she finds herself caught between two men who represent opposite sides of her longing: Ayden, the carefree lifeguard who embodies freedom and temptation, and Damien, the grounded, emotionally available man who offers connection and security.
What makes Boy Toy stand out is how Jadyn Lucas balances sexual awakening with emotional growth. The novel dives into adult desire without losing sight of heart, and explores what it means to choose yourself before choosing anyone else. It’s provocative, thoughtful, and deeply human perfect for readers who crave intimacy, honesty, and female empowerment in their romantic fiction.
This book is absolutely smouldering, if you’re after a story with all the spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🔥🔥🔥🔥- this is it. Caydence is desperately looking to explore her sexual desires after being in a long term relationship of 7 years, that’s been stuck in a stalemate.
Enter sexy lifeguard Ayden. A willing body of sin that has offered to be a friends with benefits and teach Caydence a thing or 2. This sounds too good to be true- but Enter second handsome beast of a man, Damien. But the difference is, although there’s the underlying attraction, Damien wants a relationship, not a fling. What to do?
This is a wild ride, yes there are some grammatical mistakes/spelling errors, but they are minimal in the scheme of things. The story line is solid, and very much an enjoyable, easy to follow along, hot & spicy ride with lots of sexy time & a happy ending ( if you catch my drift!😉👌🏻)
Thank you for allowing me to read your book! I truely enjoyed it, hence the 5 stars!
Caydence had just broken up with her boyfriend and is exploring things with her friend Ayden. He's helping her to learn things about herself. When Damon moves on next door and expresses that he wants to be with her, she's caught between the two. She soon learns what she really wants and makes her decision. This book is super spicy. Jadyn is a new author to me and I'm hoping to see more from her soon.
This is a good start to a story. It ends abruptly. It is riddled with grammatical and spelling errors that really detract from the story. There is potential here with some editing and fleshing out.
