This book was such a joy to read!
I absolutely flew through the chapters, and I was so sad to see it end 😢 (am completely in support of a sequel js! 👀)

Claire and Adrian were simply adorable! I couldn't stop smiling at their conversations & easy banter, and I was rooting SO HARD for them to get together!!

Seeing Claire's love for knitting and hearing about all the wonderful things she's made just... I picked up a pair of knitting needles too. I couldn't help myself! (I ended up making a scarf for my friend's birthday 😊)

If you're a fan of knitting, or looking for a light hearted read with hilarious characters then I urge you to pick this up! It'll leave you with a warm feeling inside 💖

This is a lovely short read at just under 180 pages. It is full of knitting, dates, knatter, friendship and romance. A perfect read. I really enjoyed it. Loved it. A little escape. Parts had me smiling away and giggling. It has the perfect ending.
Perfect setting in a cute little knitting shop for most of the story. Brilliantly written. An easy read that will be over before you know it. I loved both Claires and Adrians characters they're perfect. I also love the simple yet beautiful cover. Highly recommend. A well deserved four stars from me.

Normally I like to steer clear of romance novels but this one has to be the best one I've read! Loved the knitting theme, and the way Claire and Adrian met was the cutest thing.

I love reading books that make me laugh and feel good. Unravelled is a wonderful romantic comedy that I enjoyed reading.

The characters stand out in the story. Claire and Adrian are so adorable, and I loved their relationship. I loved them as individuals, and I also loved their friendship, chemistry and conversations. The author wrote their slow burn romance in a wonderful manner. Even though they start experimenting with online dating, you can still feel their chemistry. Moreover, the elderly ladies at the Stitch and Bitch club were so fun and adorable. I loved how they support Claire and lift her spirits. The dialogues between the characters are witty and humorous.

The author writes the story in such a charming, breezy manner that you wouldn’t even notice the time fly by. You know how the story would eventually turn out, because it is a tad predictable. But the fun is in reading the events that lead to it. The setting is also very charming that makes you wish you could visit, whether it is the bookshop, the wool shop or the knitting club. Moreover, the book is relatively short, so you can finish it in one sitting. On a side note, I love the quotations/sayings added under each chapter title, which are fun and inspirational.

At the same time, I also loved the knitting theme. Even though I have never knitted anything, I ‘yarn’ to take a course (ok bad joke) and be involved in the projects like the characters. Overall, this was a delightful book!

Thankyou to @lovebookstours @brionymarshallauthor and @thewritinghall for my gifted copy of the book and letting me join in this wonderful tour.

🧶 Unravelled is a extremely lighthearted read although it is a little predictable at points. It’s a short one too at 177 pages and a great way to spend a great afternoon of reading.

🧶 The story follows the main character we Claire who I loved from the very first page. We meet Claire at a stage in her life she’s at a crossroads her relationship has ended and even her knitting doesn’t seem to be connecting. She meets Adrian in a bookstore as he enters Claire’s world it all seems to knit together.

🧶 I loved all the characters they were a great bunch of young and old. The addition of the stitch and bitch group at Adrians wool shop was a great addition and full of laughs. It was great to see the younger generation mixing with the older. I so wanted to be go and be part of it.

🧶 Another wonderful touch was the quotes at the beginning of each chapter.

Unravelled is a wonderful book for crafters and non crafters alike as it’s just a great story about two people coming together in a unexpected way.

Claire is 28, lives at home with her parents and has just split up with her gym junky of a boyfriend. Needless to say she isn't feeling great.

She takes herself off to her room to wallow with her knitting, a hobby she is passionate about. Some weeks later her best friend orders an intervention and Claire gives her head a shake. Project Transformation begins the next day.

She takes herself off to town, buys some patterns books and meets someone. This someone owns a wool shop and is called Adrian.

They become firm friends and decide they need to embark on a new adventure - online dating. What she doesn't realise is that she may have already found her perfect match.

The book is split into small chapters and each chapter starts with beautiful quotes. It is just beautifully written, hilarious, romantic, such a cute read and has reignited my passion for knitting.

Fresh after a break up, Claire finds it difficult to cope, that is until she meets Adrian.
They bump into each other (literally) in the self-care section of a bookstore and then again in a cafe.
They become great friends, close and just instantly click.
Claire decides to set up dating accounts for them both but as Adrian and Claire dive into dating, Claire just can't get into it.
I wonder why?

Throughout the entire book I was really rooting for Claire and Adrian. I mean, come on!!! They're practically made for each other!
What I didn't like was how long Briony stretched out that relationship! Did Claire have to be so goddamn stubborn!? If she would just LISTEN to Adrian then they would have got together but nope! Claire decided to be downright stubborn and ignore Adrian.

Their "friendship" is strong, genuine and you can tell they both care deeply for each other. What irritates me is why neither of them will admit just how much they care!! Like come on!! Please!!!

I also really love the Bitches😂 They honestly make this book so much more lively and I love it! Their chatty nature and child-like behaviour is just beautiful!

Unravelled tells the story of heartbreak, love and friendship. It's a beautiful story that will have you laughing and goofy smiling.
I definitely look forward to any more books of Briony Marshall's! 🤩

A huge thank you to Briony Marshall, Love Books Tours and The Writing Hall for letting me take part in this tour!

Synopsis:

Claire’s life has begun to unravel and it is now affecting her ability to knit, a hobby she is passionate about. She is 28, newly single, still living at home with her parents and in need of self help before she loses herself completely. A chance meeting introduces her to Adrian, a local wool shop owner and fellow knitter. His friendship and support are exactly what Claire needs to get her life back on track, one aspect of this being her love life, but this brings its own complications!

Review:
The adorable cover and synopsis really peaked my interest with this book, I enjoy crafts myself and have always wished I was able to knit, so Unravelled really appealed to me, it sounded like it would be a lovely little tender read that I could get lost in for a little while and I was definitely not wrong or disappointed! The reviews already written looked promising, and this romantic little read was also a welcome break from the usual thrillers I tend to read. I couldn’t wait to get stuck in!

I absolutely adored the little quotes at the beginning of each chapter, I found them all to be meaningful and inspirational. They also provided me with an opportunity to be reflective on my own life too.

The first chapter pulled me in and straight away I was able to connect with the authors lovely writing style. Once I had started reading there was no way I was putting this book back down.
I really liked Claire’s character and I was able to connect with this female lead instantly. I found she was very relatable; we are the same age and we both still live at home and often worry about this. Her sense of humour was on my level too, I just loved her! However, I did find myself wanted to give her a little shake at times as she could be quite sensitive and was at risk of losing good things due to her over reactions at times, however many of us are like this, we are only human afterall.
I also found myself falling for Adrian too, he was a lovely guy and I could feel their spark instantly and therefore became very invested in their relationship. He was the perfect gentleman and I’m sure others will fall for him too. It wasn’t just Claire and Adrian however that I fell for, I loved all the characters, the presence of them all was good, I was able to connect with them and they genuinely kept me interested in the story.

The humour in this book was perfect, it really worked well with the writing style and the author placed the humour perfectly to lift the mood of the book when things got a little hard for the characters. Unravelled really was such a light hearted and fun read.

The author also highlights how important self help is through this story and that we all at times need to press the reset button on our life and find a way to pick ourselves back up so we don’t remain lost for good. This message is subtly given through a brilliant story line.

Unravelled was honestly better than what I thought, I caught myself smiling throughout, such a feel-good read that would be perfect to read in Winter due to the warmth of knitting and the heart-warming story line. This read didn’t take long to get through, it was read in one sitting but it gave me the perfect escape from reality.

A few words to sum up this lovely, little read would be sweet, tender, heart-warming and a feel-good read! Thank you Briony Marshall for creating this!

I really wanted to enjoy this book more than I did; that’s not to say it was bad, just that it wasn’t my kind of thing.

Our main character, Claire, is 28 years old but from what you read, if you weren’t told her age, you might assume she’s a love-struck teenager. She lives at home with her mum and dad, and works as a receptionist at her local doctor’s surgery. There is NOTHING WRONG with either of these things. But when she’s told her job is on the line thanks to budget cuts - a fancy new doctor’s surgery has vacancies, but the doctor there is an obnoxious git - Claire panics. She’s given six months notice but never considers looking for other jobs elsewhere, and, as expected, ends up working for Dr. Obnoxious. Also, the minute she mentions it’s a bus ride across town, her parents a) assume she is going to move out, and b) offer to pay her first month of rent. Claire also manages to find a pretty fancy flat despite her job only paying what I can assume is minimum wage ... But that’s neither here nor there.

I just desperately needed Claire to grow up and act like the adult she is. Enter Adrian. I love Adrian. He’s hot and likes knitting (which reminds me, the whole knitting aspect of the book is fantastic; sewing and knitting and whatnot is very on trend, and to be honest, other romantic novels seem to focus on cupcake shops and chocolate. Five stars for the knitting theme!). But yes, Adrian. ADRIAN, YOU DO NOT DESERVE CLAIRE. She’s all over the place! She *knows* she likes you but she sets you up with online dating, then gets jealous, then you two have a bit of a thing, then she gets jealous of something else, then there’s some banter and everything’s great, then you have lipstick on your cheek and she flips out ... CLAIRE, CALM DOWN. Although Adrian, the lipstick thing is understandable, even if there was an innocent explanation. I can see where Claire is coming from.

I’m not hating on the book. It’s cute, it’s sweet, and millions of people will love it. Keep writing, Briony.

Also, the knitted chicken jackets are my new favourite thing and I need more of this in my life.

Poor Claire, dumped by Muscles for ordering a takeaway she really is well shot of him but she can not see it. After a month of hiding under her duvet her Mum and best friend Lissy decide enough is enough and she must start to look after herself again.

Claire has no self belief and still lives at home with her parents and she works in the local doctors surgery and she feels like her life is just going through the motions. She pushes herself to get back into her favourite hobby of knitting but disaster strikes when she can’t do it. What has caused her knitters block ?

She heads to the self-help section of her local bookshop and has a chance encounter with Adrian, who she later discovers owns Oddballs a wool shop.

He invites her to visit and there she meets the knitting group who are hilarious! It has humour and also so sadness as two people are trying to get their lives back on track again.

Claire decides they should join a dating site and Adrian is not so keen but goes along with Claire’s plan. Adrian gets a date very quickly and Claire is confused about what she feels about this development.

I really liked the characters of Claire and Adrian although I wanted to shout at Claire many times during the story ! Adrian is lovely and I really hoped for a happy ever after ending for them both.

This is a really lovely read and it made me smile and laugh a lot. I am not a knitter but I have several good friends who are so I will be recommending this book to them. However, you do not need to be a knitter to enjoy this warm and feelgood book

A must-read for avid knitters and those with a passion for crafting, this comical yarn will melt any reader’s heart.

This isn’t my usual genre but how could I refuse the opportunity to review this lovely book when it combines my 2 favourite pasttimes – reading and knitting!
📚
It’s a romantic novel which at only 177 pages long can be easily read in a couple of sittings which is exactly how I devoured it.  Sometimes it is worth just taking a break from murders and thrillers to read something lighthearted and this book filled the gap for me.
 📚
The story follows Claire who finds herself at the end of a relationship and at a stage of her life were nothing seems to be right.  At the same time as everything falling to pieces, she finds that her talent for knitting has also left her.  Feeling very frustrated she sets out to try and turn her life around and this is where Adrian enters the picture.  The story is perhaps a bit predictable but I feel this is part of the appeal as it is so easy to read and has such a feel good factor about it.
📚
I particularly enjoyed the characters of the older ladies and their Stitch and Bitch group which provided a lot of humour.  I loved how sayings were used at the start of every chapter and the way they set the scene for what was about to unfold.
📚
A definite thumbs up from me if you are looking something lighthearted.

I really enjoyed this book! Unravelled is a super quick and easy going rom-com about knitters and love and it was very wholesome to read. It’s only a short book - about 177 pages but it packs a punch, delivering this cute story in a good paced narrative - I read it in one sitting!

I loved Claire and Adrian - they were so perfect together but I kept getting frustrated when Claire insisted on finding things wrong (it was completely understandable in context but I’m impatient). I desperately wanted everything to knit together so they could cast off into the sunset together.

:D

I know Briony is working on a follow up, but not follow up - I hope it’s about the Bitches (Bitch and Stitch group) as they were my favourites. They made me laugh out loud and I’m so happy they were included but I wanted more from them - please Briony?

While I used to knit and crochet a lot, it’s not something I’ve done for a few years, although I haven’t stopped collecting the wool and this book made me pick up my needles again and continue where I left off I’ve just not been in the mood and now it’s nearly finished so thanks Briony!

If you are in the mood for a light and cute read definitely pick up this book and give it a read - especially you knitters! You can buy direct from the publisher here or on kindle here.

Being a crafter and having done my fair share of knitting over the years this book appealed to me immediately. You don't have to be a crafter or knitter to enjoy the book though. But the bits where I melted at the description of yarns, their colours and a wool shop, might not be quite the same for you!

The book begins with Claire (28) having a domestic with her boyfriend of two years, it doesn't go well and so she's on Fish Tank (an online dating site) looking for Mr Right. But before that she goes looking for a self help book and literally bumps into Adrian. When she asked him what he did and he replied he owned a wool shop, I might have let out a little squeal of delight!

What follows is a will they won't they romance of a novel between two knitters.Complete with a wool shop and a stitch and bitch group of which some maturer members even have knitting inspired tattoos! To say I loved it would be an understatement. Once the wool shop appeared I never put the book down until I had finished reading it to the end.

If you are looking for a crafting hug along with a comical look at life, then this is the read for you. If you are a crafter then really all I can say is just read it. Only don't get too downhearted that you don't have a local wool shop like the one in the book or even an owner like Adrian to go with it.

This is a little novella about that turning point that comes from most of us in our adult lives. The time we must leave the nest; the time we must move on from that dud of a relationship; the time we all struggle to cast our knitting needles. Wait....⠀

Poor Claire is fed with up Muscles, her gym-obsessed, anti-takeout boyfriend and his negative comments about both her body and her choices 🙅🏻‍♀️. Boy, bye. ⠀

We then learn about Adrian, a new friend that Claire has made in the best place to make new friends - a bookstore! Thus begins the inevitable will they- won't they between our two romantic interests. ⠀

Adrian also owns his late mother's yarn shop and there Claire meets the local knitters group of older women who will help guide her in life and back into knitting. ⠀

This novella has all the traps of classic romance novels without too much originality. Claire and Adrain are both quite likeable as characters though and it makes sense that the two of them should be together. I was actually quite pleased with the pacing of the novel until maybe the last 20 or 30 pages. The ending felt quite rushed and could have stretched out for a few more pages to have kept that good pacing.⠀

Overall, an uplifting and quick read for anyone interested in knitting, quick romances, and the satisfying witnessing of a female character stepping out into her own finally.

I saw a second hand copy of this book and I adored the cover. I passed it over initially because I didn’t think I had any interest in a book about crochet. But I kept thinking about it and actually visited it again in the shop I first saw it. Imagine my surprise a little while later when a local shopping centre advertises a local author’s book signing and staring back at me is this adorable little book!

Of course I went back and the book was sold but I knew by now I had to get it on my kindle which is best all round because even though I’m fast running out of space I have a habit of buying books and adding them to the famous tbr pile but something about seeing this book in those circumstances told me it was a right place right time right now kind of book.

While yes the main character Claire does have an interest in crotchet this book is about so much more. It’s about friendship, finding your place in life, falling in love. Basically everything I want in a book! Claire found her people at just the right time and I like the think the same thing happened for me with this book. And meeting Adrian? That has to be one of my favourite meet cutes ever.

I can’t wait to read more from Briony Marshall and while I couldn’t attend the book signing that started all this I hope to attend one soon.

This is the story of Claire, an avid knitter who finds her projects are all going wrong after her relationship breaks down and Adrian, the owner of Oddballs, a little woolshop.

I loved the unusual setting of the wool-shop and especially the elderly ladies of the Stitch and Bitch knitting club. These ladies could see what was going to be good for Claire even if she couldn't see it herself and were determined to help her find happiness. I really looked forward to the Tuesday afternoons Claire spent with the ladies because they always said or did something to make me laugh.

Unravelled is full of misunderstandings and wrong turns, but as anyone who knits knows, taking time and having a bit patience leads to a satisfying result. This short but sweet romance is sure to leave you smiling.

I would firstly like to say a very big thank you to @lovebookstours for gifting me a copy of this book, in return for an honest review.
Claire’s longest relationship to date has just ended and her current career is now on the ropes.
Along with her friend, Adrian, they decide to join an online dating site and then the trouble begins..... And worse of all she has knitters block!!
This is a wonderful feel-good book and I really warmed to the two realistic main characters.
There are quite a few laughable moments and I couldn’t wait to keep reading more and more!
As always, things don’t run smoothly in this little love story and certain characters can’t see what is right in front of their face.
A satisfying read that left me smiling long after I had read it.

Unravelled was a lovely easy read. It picked you up took you to a nice wooly happy place and gave you nice vibes.

Claire was in a bit of a low place in life, she had just finished with Muscles. Better off without him  really 😊 When she decides to go to Blurbs the bookshop. (What a fantastic name for a bookshop.) There she unwittingly bumps into someone who will open up a wealth of happiness for her.

This is ultimately the feel good type of book. A great cast of characters, and even though you will be able to guess the ending. It's still a great book to lose yourself in. And, learn about knitting. Knit one Purl one anyone

What a fun book! All throughout I found myself laughing especially at the knitting references haha and at Claire's dating experiences which I am sure we can all relate to at some point in our life. A very easy and light read with knitting at its core. It's certainly got me wanting to dig out my knitting needles and take it up again. I loved all of the characters and thought it was an all round very good read. Highly recommended

I love a good little quick read, and at 177 pages this was just that. But the shorter length didn't take anything away from the story for me, it still had everything I look for in it - love, humour and some good friendships!⁣ I loved Claire, she seemed really real, if that makes sense? When you meet Muscles, her beefy boyfriend, at the beginning, you just know that he wasn't right for her. In fact, I honestly questioned what they were doing together in the first place! The lovely, cosy Claire who loved nothing more than to sit and knit, needed more than a man who was obsessed with his food count and muscle weight. She needs a gorgeous man who loves nothing more than to cosy on up on the sofa in a hand-knitted jumper or throw. Enter Adrian...⁣

Although I don't knit myself, or do anything creative like that, I really like the knitting aspect of this story. When Adrian and Claire met in the self-help section of the bookstore, knitting was the last thing I thought they'd have in common, but it was meant to be! I loved how open Adrian was about his love for it, and his shop, Odd Balls, sounds like the cutest little place! I loved the little knitting group that Adrian ran at Odd Balls. The old ladies at the Stitch and Bitch group had me in stitches! And yes, that pun was intended! ⁣

I really enjoyed this book, it was a perfect light-hearted read that made me feel all cosy inside. Each chapter in this one started with a little quote that matched each chapter so perfectly. It almost made me want to try knitting, but I just borrowed my mum's needles for the photo and then changed my mind. I'd never be as good as Claire!⁣

Thank you Briony Marshal and Kelly from Love Book Tours for my lovely gifted eBook 🧶 ❤️

I have loved this little romantic gem of a book. Claire's life is unravelling before her eyes - can a fellow knitting enthusiast help her get her life, and her knitting, back on track?

I thought using the theme of knitting was quite unusual but also really lovely. Knitting for me represents creativity, risk, concentration, resilience, effort, home, family... and these are all things Claire had to deal with in the book.

I really enjoyed the will they, won't they aspect of the story and found all of the characters very likeable.

I flew through this book in just one sitting and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a quick, fun romance read with a slightly different feel to it. There's a lot of drama, fun and love packed into this little book!

Obviously I’m not the intended reader for this but I have enjoyed this read as a break from the other stuff I stick to.

It’s a fairly easy read, though there are moments Claire makes either a jump I missed or an outright left turn and I can’t help but feel sorry for poor Adrian trying to be the good guy! Though from what I’ve watched in films and tv and read in books, that’s the way it goes in this genre so it should be praised not scorned.

I’m interested to see where Ms Marshall goes next
