What a wonderful extended epilogue this turned out to be. I always love it when authors give us these short little stories that are so delightful. I had a blast with this where we see a wedding and the beautiful reuniting of the twin de Wolfe brothers. It was so poignant and perfect in every way. I just couldn't get enough of it. And now I can't wait for the next adventure for this author to take me on!!!

The backdrop to this short story is a sunset wedding on Christmas Day between Sir James de Wolfe, son of Sir William and Jordan de Wolfe (our hero and heroine from the epic "The Wolfe") and Rose Hage, daughter of Kieran and Jemma Hage (two main characters from "The Wolfe"). Hanging over the entire family's heads is the fact that Scott de Wolfe ("ShadowWolfe: Sons of de Wolfe-de Wolfe Pack Book 4") has not returned to Castle Questing, the family seat, since he lost his wife and two children in a tragic accident four years before. Scott's twin, Troy ("DarkWolfe: Sons of de Wolfe-de Wolfe Pack Book 5") is deeply hurt and terribly upset by his brother's absence and suffers his own pain having lost his wife and two children in that same tragic accident. So, that shadow hangs over every member of the de Wolfe family and their close friends in this gathering for such a joyous event.

I cannot tell you how happy I am to see this book. Ms. Le Veque is not one to leave "stones unturned" and has given her legion of fans a wonderful story resolving many issues left hanging. It is a bittersweet, poignant story which left me smiling through my tears. The de Wolfe family dynasty is my favorite of all the family dynasties she has written about. "The Wolfe" is my favorite book of all time, so I had high hopes and great expectations for this book. Every one of those hopes and expectations were fulfilled. I just loved it!

This deserves 10 Stars for me! The relationship between William De Wolfe and his sons has always had me in awe. In A joyous de Wolfe Christmas it is the same heart grabbing dialogue with his sons that just grabs at your heart. When he and James have their heart to heart discussion prior to James wedding, I could not help but shed tears. William de Wolfe is just one of those characters that you love and results in the awe inspiring head of household that all his family and friends admire for all of time.

James De Wolfe and Rose Hage are getting married this Christmas, which is within a couple of days.

The laugh out loud moments are priceless amongst the characters we have come to love over the years.

There is happiness felt by all for James and Rose, but there is also sadness and regret felt buy some. Some are missing those who have passed, those who have left the family and they find themselves wondering if they are also to blame for what has happened.

Patrick and Troy de Wolfe are assisting their family this holiday and they have gone to retrieve a priest to officiate James and Rose's marriage ceremony. Troy is glad to keep busy for he is internally angry and devastated with the man he cannot forgive, his twin brother Scott.

It is the season of Joy and Christmas Miracles and the de Wolfe family, their extended family and close friends truly deserve one this Christmas.

The author has created a wonderful Christmas miracle for not only for the characters in this story but for the readers as well. I have been waiting for this conclusion for a very long time and I felt this author gave me a very nice pre-Christmas gift and for that I am thankful because I truly loved "A Joyous de Wolfe Christmas."

This short story featuring not only the wedding of the ill-fated James de Wolfe, but also the long-awaited reunion of Scott and Troy de Wolfe wrung tears from my eyes.

With an economy of words, Kathryn Le Veque has created a work that sent my spirits soaring to the rafters. Grief and loss was juxtaposed against a backdrop of a happy family gathering tinged with the foreboding ever present of a known prematurely interrupted HEA for one member of the family. I felt this story keenly.

The early deaths of Helene and Athena. Our first glimpse of their mother, Caladora's lingering grief. Troy and Scott's own lingering grief coupled with Scott's heretofore unresolved guilt. The foreboding emotions attendant in the future loss of Kieran Hage of an encroaching heart ailment that will ultimately wrench him from the bosom of this loving extended family. The heavy emotions present in this story were palpable.

Yet, the reunion of this family on this occasion was ultimately a happy one. James de Wolfe and his wedding are the happy, emotional center of this story. One cannot help but love this young man. We see the hilarious antics of the ever irrepressible Penelope. The loving regard that Jordan and William have for each other decades into an enduring marriage. Rose, the bride in this story, shows shades of her mother, the pint sized powerhouse Jemma Scott Hage. I found myself chuckling at the hints of the inside jokes interspersed throughout the story that reminded me of events from decades earlier.

The de Wolfe family is one that lives on and thrives in my reading life and I am always happy to revisit them. Le Veque has created a wonderful legacy with this cast of characters. I recommend their entire saga in addition to this work. It is not to be missed.

I am happy to voluntarily provide an early review of this story having received an ARC from the publisher.

This was my first Kathryn Le Veque book, and it certainly won’t be my last. I love historical romance, and her name had been mentioned to me a few times, so when I saw she’d written a Christmas story that could stand alone, I knew I had to try it.

The book took me under an hour to read, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that the characters were so well developed within such a short story. There was also an incredible level of emotion, and the final scenes were particularly heart wrenching.

I’m now planning to add the rest of the de Wolfe books to my to-be-read list!

I always read the author notes, usually placed in the front of the book in Le Veque’s work. It gives me a bit of insight what to expect. This short story, easily read of an evening, had me bawling, surprisingly enough, not about James, which the author ‘killed off’ (more’s the pity!) sometime later in the chronological order of the books. I’ve read most of the DeWolfe pack series, so I knew of his demise.

I started the read with a tender heart. You see, James got married in this story. Knowing his marriage would be short, gave me pause listening well to the dialogue. Had any of them anticipated him leaving them so soon? Did his parents, Jordan and William, say something which we can construe they felt more than just happiness for James marriage?

This story is also about Scott and Troy, James’s twin brothers, who haven’t talked for four years. They share a tragedy which tears and shreds the relationship of love the two had. You know how when something happens you generally are hurt and depending on the severity of the hurt, you remain so until you become angry? Such is the case with the twins. Troy left immediately after the death of his wife and children, not even there to bury them. Scott considered him a coward after waiting for his return.

Scott stayed, faced the music. He, too, had lost his wife and children in the same tragic event. If you want to read about this tragedy affecting Scott and then Troy, you can catch it in ShadowWolfe and DarkWolfe.

I absolutely loved this short story because Le Veque gets into the terrible emotional turmoil each of the twins carry, and with her exquisite writing, she pulls me right into the thick of things. Le Veque’s takes a moment of happiness, the marriage of James, brother to Scott and Troy, couples it with such anguish, it breaks my heart, hence the red, puffy, swollen eyes! Even with that being said, Christmas with de Wolfes is one of renewal, forgiveness, and vows.

May all you fans of Le Veque have a Merry Christmas! Even if you haven’t started reading her yet, you’ve a New Year resolution you can add to the list. Read this fantastic writer of historical Medieval romance.

Family regrets to family reunions

Kathryn le Veque has pulled so much emotion from me as I read I started feeling happiness then sadness then sadness mixed with shock. That i was crying, So many roads that each person goes through processing grief, processing what others are going through at the same time can be so confusing to understand. But as I read each character's outcome of the tragedy to their family grief process it shows how each person could misunderstand what the other is feeling. Kathryn le Veque really did a wonderful reunion in reuniting Scot, Troy and the family.
In this family you feel what each went through how they processed it and in the end a family was reunited in their love for each other.
Kathryn le Veque has pulled so much love into her character's lives that even though they are fictional to her readers they are real.
If you have read this bòk first you should read DarkWolfe and ShadowWolfe first to understand how Scot and Troy was separated in their grief and who knows you might want to read all Kathryn le Veques books...

A truly lovely Christmas story reuniting some of my very favorite characters. The scene between the twins in the crypt where their wives and children are buried together was absolutely heart wrenching. With this scene alone, I feel Kathryn le Veque really showcased her exceptional writing talent once again. It’s true that twins very often have an exceptional connection with one another, so the pain the twins felt during their estrangement was almost palpable. Reading about the coming together of Scott and Troy, allows you to feel their painful emotions triggered by their separation. The reader can almost feel like half of their heart and half of who they are as a person is missing while they were physically parted. This was a wonderful Christmas story full of the intricacies of the family dynamics and relationships of long time close friends, love, pain, and forgiveness. An exceptional short read that weaves all of the family threads together into a beautiful tapestry.

Christmas 1274 AD
The de Wolfe stronghold of Castle Questing
A visit to the amazing House of De Wolfe that was filled to bursting with all manner of relatives to witness the marriage of James de Wolfe and Rosie Hage. These two just won my heart with their love for each other. But the biggest surprise of all was the return of Scott de Wolfe who had been gone several years. When an accident occured that took the life of his and Troy's wives and children, he ran. His twin Troy had been devastated that he had not come home so when he showed up, all he could feel was bitterness.
But the bonds of twins is so strong that Troy and Scott soon came back together. Every word touched my heart and even though this was a short story, it brought the de Wolfe's and extended families together and that is always a wonderful happening.

What a wonderfully sweet story of forgiveness and love during Christmas. As Jordan, William and the rest of the family prepare for the marriage of James and Rose, one is still missing from their life. The happiness is tinged with sorrow, as Scott left after the death of his wife and children and has never returned. This novella lets us meet James, learn about his courtship with Rose and perhaps a few secrets. And, don't forget Penelope-young in this story, but still a very strong force for all to attempt to control. (She is still one of my favorites.) This book wraps up the Troy and Scott stories beautifully.

Finding Closure

As Kathryn writes, A Joyous as Wolfe is an extended Epilogue for ShadowWolfe and DarkWolfe. I had read all the other de Wolfe Pack books before reading this one. It was great reading regardless of when but I would recommend definitely reading it following reading both ShadowWo!fe, then DarkWolfe, then A Joyous as Wolfe Christmas. It will really help t bring closure to a sad situation.

I must say Kathryn Le Veque you definitely have a way with words. The way you brought this family tragedy and made this family whole again was amazing. I was spilling the tears too! This is a must read. You will be so glad you did.

Necessary for answers

Those who choose to read the series in chronological order understand why this book was written. There were things we needed to know and loose ends to tie up.
The only reason I gave so few stars was the short length. Although all of the wonderful characters are included it this book, more background on the marriage of James and Rose. And perhaps a bit more substance or drama surrounding the information and loose ends. But ale in all, as always, I love this world and adore these wonderful characters. It it a must, if short read!

In A joyous de Wolfe Christmas it is the same heart grabbing dialogue with his sons that just grabs at your heart. Everyone is gathering for a wedding between of James de Wolfe to Lady Rose Hage. The relationship between William De Wolfe and his sons has always been amazing, the love and strength they all possess. It was a true Christmas going home and long awaited and anticipated reunion of Scott and Troy de Wolfe wrung tears from my eyes. This is my honest opinions after I voluntarily read a copy of this book that was provided to me with no requirements for a review.

This is a beautiful epilogue to DarkWolfe and ShadowWolfe. There were a couple discrepancies, though, that bugged me a little. First, Rose is seen throwing a snowball at James, but a little while later the story has him never being in the snowball fight. The second, Penelope is 8 in this story which takes place in 1274, but she’s 20 in the next book that is set in 1283. That puts the timeline off by 3 years, give or take a few months. I know I’m knit picking, but details matter to me. Overall, I’m loving Le Veque’s books.

Together again.

Scott and Troy deWolfe are twins and the oldest sons of a William deWolfe. When both their wives and two children each were killed in an accident, the brothers reacted differently. Scott blamed himself and ran because he thought everyone else blamed him too and he could not face them. So he tried to block it out for 4 years. Troy stayed and suffered through the agony of loss. When their brother James was to be married on Christmas Day, no one expected to see Scott return for the wedding. This is a beautiful story of love and forgiveness.

Wonderful tears!

Wow, what a fantastic piece about family, the good, the bad, the forgiveness, the joy! I cried real tears at the scenes with Troy discussing his hurt with Atty and the final scenes of confrontation and coming to terms between two brothers who are very different but bred the same! A wonderful tale and incredibly written! And if nothing else, this story made me love James even more and makes it even sadder to know his fate ☹️. Another LeVeque success!!

A Christmas miracle to be sure

The de Wolfe family is one of my favorite families in the world of Kathryn Le Veque. While this short story also serves as an epilogue to both Shadow Wolfe and Dark Wolfe, it is a lovely story all on its own. It is funny and heart-warming, while also being so emotional and serious. I love the whole family and the extended-family connections, as well.

Another great book from Kathryn. This was not only the wedding of James and rose but Scott coming home after 4 long years. He left after feeling responsible for his wife and his twin brother's wifes death. Troy didn't see it that way though. In the end they met over their wives efigies and all of Scott's sorrow poured out and Troy understood his brother better. Very emotional at the end.

Great Short Story!

It was great fun reading this short "catch" up story about the de Wolfes. A bit more detail about the wedding would have been nice, but overall learning more about the characters is always the best reason to read Kathryn's books - and she is so good at it! Terrific resolution to the Troy and Scott separation, too!
