West Meets East #6

A Tempting Voyage

Rate this book
Captain Albert Tennant has lived most of his life on the sea, in spite of his noble status. It is his home and his passion. But the adventure of transporting several of the young women from Haskell, Wyoming to their new lives in England has highlighted how dull his own life has become. Until Domenica Ortega steps aboard his ship.

Domenica is more than ready to give up her life as a soiled dove for the promise of a fresh start that London provides. But beneath her brash, devil-may-care attitude lurks a secret fear that she hides from the world. It shakes her to her core that handsome Captain Tennant can see right through her mask to the heart she tries to keep hidden. And unlike any other man, Albert makes her feel safe.

When a member of Albert’s crew goes missing halfway across the ocean, Domenica and Albert must discover what happened with very little evidence to go on. They have until the ship reaches London to uncover the perpetrator and bring them to justice. But mysteries are difficult to solve when temptation abounds, and the biggest question of all may be how Albert will be able to let Domenica go at the end of their voyage.

Finally we get to witness Captain Albert Tennants story. I’m sure travelling back and forth bringing young women with a tainted past begin anew must be rewarding if somewhat lonely. I truly liked the Captain and I couldn’t picture anyone other than Domenica Ortega as his soulmate.
Domenica (so love the name) is tired of being used and feeling unloved, she wants to be wanted for herself not for her body. There’s so much going on in this story that it will keep you captivated and the fact that it takes place on a ship is even more intriguing.
There’s a murder to catch and emotions run high. A page turning who dun-it mystery with lots of steam.
Merry Farmer has brought the end of this series to a wonderful ending. And I can’t wait to read the next new series.
I reviewed this complimentary gifted copy from the author, this is my unbiased opinion.

Merry has done an awesome job with this series. Captain Tennant has been carrying soiled doves wanting to start a new life across the ocean on his ship. He has wondered if he will ever find love for himself. On this voyage mishaps are plentiful and the beautiful Domenica volunteers to step in and help out when the chef disappears. More than the kitchen heats up when she and the Captain are tossed together. This is a fantastic spicy read. I would definitely recommend.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Domenica was very excited to start her life anew in London. She met Captain Tennant as she boarded the ship. Her friends had written to her about Captain Tennant's kindness. They didn't tell her about what he looks like.

William DeVer is getting a free ride on the ship thanks to his father. Why is he falling all over himself for Lady Patterson?

This is going to be an interesting voyage!!!!

I loved this book, I definitely will be recommending this book.

2.5 rounded up to 3 stars. I liked the first 2/3s, but the last third was pretty weak. This is my second to least favorite of the series.

A different twist on the usual regency romance. Very below stairs of Downton Abbey. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
