In this Thriller Short, New York Times bestselling author Allison Brennan’s recurring protagonists Lucy Kincaid and Sean Rogan learn that taking an island vacation isn’t so relaxing—especially when solving crimes is your occupation. Rescuing a drowning man on his honeymoon turns out to be the easy task. Finding and stopping his military-trained ex-girlfriend from killing him is a bit more complicated, and Kincaid and Rogan soon find themselves up to their necks in trouble.

FBI Analyst Lucy Kincaid and Private Investigator Sean Rogan attempt yet another crime-free vacation. This time it’s on Cape Cod and things are looking pretty promising until Lucy answers a call to help a man in distress in the water. She later determines that the man thinks someone tried to kill him.
This is a really short story (22 pages) and I couldn’t imagine this being all that interesting. Silly me because once I started I was completely engaged. Well done, especially considering its brevity. Guess Lucy & Sean will never have that true vacation.
Lucy Kincaid and Sean Rogan are taking a much needed beach vacation before she reports to the FBI Academy in Quantico. But when they see someone flailing in the ocean, Lucy rushes in to rescue a drowning man. The man claims that someone wants him dead. Lucy and Sean hear him out and decide to help him.
This was a very short (22 pages) story in the Lucy Kincaid series. It was fast moving and entertaining. My rating: 4 Stars.
Short, really short. At 22 pages it truly qualifies as a short story. I don't have a whole lot to say about it because it was so short. Sean Rogan and Lucy Kincaid try, again, to take a short break from the murder and mayhem that fills their lives. They end up in Cape Cod where the meet another couple when Lucy rescued the man from drowning. Their tale of a stalker ex draws Sean and Lucy in and they agree to help the couple, but this stalker ex has more than a few skills herself.
Lucy and Sean try to take a short vacation and end up stopping a murder attempt. It was a quick and easy situation for the two of them, but I was not overly impressed with the story. It really doesn’t do anything for the series and was just a way to fit in a vacation for Lucy and Sean. The story does have an interesting storyline and was entertaining though.
Ugh, I don't know why I read novellas! Too short, only 22 pages for this one, but the story was good even if it was just a taste!

How do you rate a tiny little short story? Lucy and Sean are on the job at work and on vacation. Teasers being teasers it was a quick taste and reminder that I enjoy this pair of agents.
Reminds me of JD Robb’s In Death series (the characters, writing, narration of which I ADORE) where trouble follows the heroine around 24/7/365. It’s frustratingly unrealistic and overdone. Like the antagonists are placed exactly where the MFC cop is. All. The. Time.
I enjoyed the narration and the writing style, but their world could’ve been Eve Dallas’s world and I wanted something different.
Plus even the protagonist could’ve believe how easy it was to fool them. They should’ve known better.
Part of the anthology Love Is Murder by sandra brown et al
This story was only 22 pages long. FBI agent Lucy Kincaid and her boyfriend, Sean Rogan, are on vacation when they rescue a man from drowning. He along with his fiancé claim that a previous girlfriend tried to kill him. Lucy and Sean set a trap to capture the former girlfriend.
Sean takes Lucy for a beach getaway before Lucy has to report to Quantico for her training. But after Lucy saves a man from drowning, they discovered he's actually being stalked by his ex-lover who's trying to kill him... so of course, they get involved in trying to catch the stalker. Another vacation interrupted!
In this very short story in the Lucy Kincaid series, Lucy and Sean are on a short vacation before she goes to the FBI Academy. While lounging on the beach, they spot a man struggling in the ocean. When Lucy rescues the man, he lets her know it was an attempted murder. Of course Lucy and Sean can't let it go and get involved.
Vacation Interrupted is a very short story that was part of an anthology. It is a super quick read and worth the time for anyone reading this series. It is good Sean and Lucy time.
I realize this book was only meant to be a few pages and was part of a larger book with many other authors, but these books are seriously a waste of time and unfortunately the psycho book reader I am I have to read all the books in a series.
'After being attacked and left for dead by an online predator, Lucy Kincaid survives and joins the FBI to help fight deadly cyber-crime alongside security expert and private investigator Sean Rogan.'
Vacation Interrupted is Book #4.5 in the Lucy Kincaid series by Allison Brennan. It is made up of 25 books that all bring a gripping blend of suspense, action, and emotional depth that had me on the edge of my seat, avidly reading just so I could find out how everything would play out in the end. Lucy Kincaid is a survivor of a harrowing attack, but who manages to transform her trauma into strength, joining the FBI to combat dangerous threats. Her journey is both inspiring and heart-wrenching, as Ms. Brennan explores themes of resilience, justice, and the complexities of human relationships. Lucy’s partnership with Sean Rogan, a private investigator, adds another intriguing layer, tension, and dynamic to the series. These are fast-paced stories, with twists that kept me guessing. As Ms. Brennan’s ability to balance intense action with deeply personal moments made the stories feel both thrilling and yet still relatable. Each installment delves into new challenging cases/investigations, from escaped prisoners to dark conspiracies, ensuring the series never loses its momentum. With a compelling MC, intricately woven plots, and lots of action- I definitely enjoyed binge-reading this series. Well worth the read. Happy Reading…
Trouble finds them no matter where they go. Individually and as a couple they are caring and quite skilled. This story picks up immediately with saving someone from drowning but then it turns into more...a stalking case. The action is constant and the story is quick, but details and this world are just as vivid as the longer stories that we love with Lucy Kincaid
Short stories are almost always too short to be interesting. I am a fan of Allison Brennan, so I gave it ago. As short stories go, this one was fine. Just limited by length.
I sterilize that this was a short story and I was done with it in record time. Next time I will check first. As a short diet was good but was xxx looking forward to a book.
This is book 4.5 of the Lucy Kincaid series. Lucy and Sean go away for a vacation before Lucy starts her FBI training only to stubble into a murder attempt.
Hard to review a 20 page novella. It was a good plot, but could have been developed a bit more. I would have liked to have seen a bit more development.
Sean and Lucy find their vacation interrupted when a man, who almost drowns, claims it as a case of attempted murder. (No spoilers, but you'll love this one.)
