I can’t let anyone read my stories. Who cares about what I have to say? Who would read anything I wrote anyway? I’m not special or original enough.
Do those fears fly through your mind like a plague of locusts, eating up your confidence each time you sit down to write? All those fears, and more, boil down to one problem—feeling unworthy.
But you are worthy! God gave you a voice and all those ideas swirling in your head for a reason: to write them so that you can make a difference in the world.
Let's tackle those fears together because you are Worthy to Write!
If you're a creative who wants to pour your heart out to God, to know that you are not alone, then buy now to start your thirty-day journey to feeling worthy.
NOTE: This book contains full-color photographs. Those may not render well on black and white e-readers. However, all of the content remains perfectly accessible.
After much writing, re-writing, and reading I've learned the best way to tell a story is from the heart and then let the mind edit it so others can read it.
CBA and ECPA best-selling Christian author, Diana Lesire Brandmeyer, writes historical and contemporary romances. She writes fiction about women choosing to challenge their fears to become the strong women God intended them to be.
This book is so relatable. Each day's entry is filled with the heart-cries of authors, who laid their desires and fears on the page in prayer to God, who created all creatives for the purposes He's chosen. I would recommend this book to any writer who needs to know "they're not the only one" in their feelings of overwhelm, inadequacy, and the desire to rate the fruit of their labors. Each entry is short enough to grab a quick bit of inspiration, but deep enough to impact readers for the rest of the day.
Before I sit down to write, I like to begin my day with prayer and scripture, and Worthy to Write has been a great addition to my mornings!
These women have been in the trenches and have captured many of the thoughts and feelings I have about my job as an author, and the mighty God we work for. I am enjoying the scriptures on creativity and God-given gifts which each devotional begins with.
The devotionals are very relatable. One that stands out in my memory is when one of the authors is talking about people who don’t really get what she does for a living. “They don’t understand the pressure of creating a work from nothing…. while being surrounded with undone chores.” Oh, how I can relate to that, as I too, work from home!
While they mention the struggles of writers, they also focus on God as a creator and how well He understands our creativity.
Filled with beautiful photos, this devotional is a must-have for all Christian authors, whether you write fiction, non-fiction, or are still working on getting that first word on a page. Highly recommended.
Worthy to Write is a devotional written to speak joy, courage, and worth to authors. It is written in a daily format spanning a thirty day period. Each day has a beautiful full color picture and a scripture verse along with a prayer. The prayers cover a number of subjects such as the recognition of the loneliness of an author's life and the anxiety that sometimes comes, the need for guidance, the joy and privilege and the fears of being God's instrument. There are prayers that praise and affirm the promises and attributes of God and His wisdom and help in time of need. There is a strong focus on one's relationship with God the Ultimate author and honoring Him through the words the author may write. Although written for authors, any woman could read these prayers and apply them to her life, to her chosen field of employment, to her relationship with the Almighty God. As a bonus, at the end of the book are samples of Christian fiction from the authors of this book, Diane Lesire Brandmeyer, Angela Breidenbach, Liz Tolsma, and Jennifer Vader Klipp. Worthy to Write is an inspirational book for personal prayer and meditation--one to return to again and again. I received a complimentary copy of the book and was not required to write a review. The opinions are my own.
Do you feel called to write? Do you question whether or not you’re truly worthy to do so?
Worthy to Write addresses common fears and struggles with Bible verses and prayers. The prayers are short, allowing you to pause briefly before beginning each day, offering those fears and struggles to the Lord.
Whether you’re looking for Biblical encouragement as you pursue your writing or need a friend to pray with you, these pages will remind you that you are not alone in this journey!
(I received a complimentary copy of this book. The thoughts expressed here are entirely my own.)
This little devotional is chock full of prayers that echo the writer's heart. The authors did an excellent job admitting the struggles of writing while striving to refocus on what's truly important to God. The prayers are simple, which made it easy to add to my daily routine. Yet the vast majority echoed my own thoughts and my own desires, balanced the fears and doubts and battles for worldly recognition with the steadfastness of God, the hope of Christ, and the training of the Holy Spirit. I suspect I will return to this book again and again.
Wonderful book filled with daily devotionals for writers and for everyone. I felt at peace while reading these special words. I received a copy of this book from the authors and this is my personal honest opinion.
