DNF at 12%. There "might" have been a decent story here, but with the writing, grammar, wrong word usage, and horrific efiting, I will sadle mever know.

The thing I like about 'dark' theme was that the writer can go all out with it. Throw in the romance, erotica, bondage, slavery, spanking, blood, gore, death, anything you can think of. Blend it all and make it's so gruesome that no one can stand a chance of downing it down. This book however, did not reach that level yet. This wasn't the book that will make me check my door and windows multiple times to make sure it was secure. This was more of a romance that didn't know where to go and decided to just throw it all in but play safe. It wasn't helping either that the MCs were unlikable. They made stupid decisions even though given a way out. The only one I like was Danny, hoping he would jumped from a closet and shouted, "SURPRISE."

Maybe in the next book, I may get my wish.

Too many grammatical errors for a comfortable read. Also please note that this book "is to be continued". This is my major gripe with authors who don't say anything at the beginning about the book being part 1, book 1 etc. I never start to read a series unless I know that the whole series has been published. No idea when next book is published.

A short dark... ish read. I liked the characters and the story line. The plot was addictive. It had me turning the pages in one sitting, enticing me through with what I believed would be the end of Bane & Jesse's story, only to discover 'To Be Continued' splashed across the final page. I'm pleased there is more to come, but I just hope we don't have too long to wait for the conclusion to this enjoyable read.
