Love's Time

Rate this book
A deceased mother challenges a brilliant nurse from beyond the grave to uncover a century-old family mystery. She eventually triumphs over tragedy at immense personal cost.

On receiving a mysterious packet from BEYOND the grave, Enya Raffetty embarks on a mission to learn more about her family’s origins.
She travels to the mystifying OutBack town of Brolga where her great grandfather began the family heritage.
Settling in at the old family homestead, she discovers a photo album from far back in time which entices her to visit their isolated graveyard.
Without any care of an approaching thunderstorm, Enya walks up onto the hill behind the house. Standing in the rain, she gets hit by a bolt of lightning.
That evening in 1899, she is found unconscious by Lockland Dawson, a handsome Jackaroo landowner, who is fascinated by her.
A nurse is hired to tend for the injured stranger at Lock’s Kooyong Homestead property.
Slowly regaining her memory, Enya realizes she is from a time in the future yet having fallen in love with the magnetic Lock and developing friendships in the district; she hopes to remain.
Eventually, Enya needs to confess her knowledge to Lock and her nurse Linda. Although this is confusing, it sums up her differences.
Lock has fallen in love with Enya and is troubled she will disappear in the same manner she mysteriously arrived. However Enya convinces him, there are no certainties in life and every day must be enjoyed with a trust and faith in God.
As a nurse with a Ph.D., she is more advanced in her medical understanding than the local doctor and takes on delivering a difficult birth, making her a valued commodity in the neighborhood.
This book holds, suspense, drama, happiness, sorrow, faith, and love, down through the ages.

Love's Time was a very different story. It is a story of loss, happiness, and one of great love that crosses all time.

The storyline kept me so involved with the character of Enya and her travel back in time, that I found myself not able to stop until I finished the book. I had to find out what happened next.

The story takes place in modern time when the main character Enya decides to go home to Australia after her mother dies. She hadn't been home since she was a young child.

Enya has an accident during a lightning storm that leaves her unconscious. When she wakes up and gets well, she discovers it is 1899. I loved following her daily life. The author's descriptions of the countryside made me feel as though I was there with her. Will Enya want to go back to her own time, if that's even possible, or be content to adapt to her new life?

I found myself becoming very emotional in parts of the story, as events tested the characters strength and showed how they relied on their faith. It showed how even strong faith can sometimes falter when a person suffers great loss..

Without giving away any spoilers, I was pleasantly surprised by the ending. I can't wait to read more of her books.

I liked this story and can see it developing into a series. The American reader will have to realize that the language is a little different and some of the scenes are described differently than one would expect (an example would be a warm Christmas and New Year's day). Being set in Australia the seasons are opposite of the States. Time travel is a fun concept to read. Enya, a nurse, is struck by lightening and winds up traveling back to 1889. With her skills she is able to help those around her while falling in love with her rescuer.

I was given this book for my honest review.

All I can say is WOW

I loved it! Absolutely loved it! It was so intriguing, had Christian values in it, had romance and loving it, had normal everyday life in it, had tragedy and healing in it. There are so many lessons that we can learn in this book. It was so excellently done that it kept my attention each time I picked it back up to finish reading, I had to read one more chapter and one more chapter and one more chapter until I had to force myself to put it down to go about my day.

Great story

Lindsey pens a grand story in Love’s Time. This is great romantic story involving time travel. I've read Lindsey's work before, and I find her writing style very inviting. The story has a great Christian theme, and it was an easy read. There could have been a little more depth to the characters, but I enjoyed the story. The story shows how love and romance can extend beyond time, if there is faith. I look forward to reading more by this author.

A Christian love story that crosses time barriers.

One of the things I really liked about it, was the lack of constant misunderstanding, that so many romance books have. I tend to find myself speed reading pages at a time, when other authors insist on that.
This author did not do that, and I so enjoyed it!!

I enjoyed the Christian principles.
It was a clean book, without heavy sex scenes, a few kisses and that was it.

interesting story

Intriguing time travel ideas. The writer needs an editor/copy editor to catch misspelled and misused words that distract from the story. Enya is very self-centered. The death of her parents devastates her. A mysterious message from her mother sends her on a quest that teaches her and stretches her and grows he faith. She learns about self-less love.

very sweet story

I love how the author showed the progression of faith, hope, and love in the story and in the main character. It was nice to see God interwoven in the words and how HE always has a master plan.

At the request of the author I agreed to read Love's Time and write a review. Because it was a free download from my Kindle Unlimited subscription my only obligation is to honor my commitment for an unbiased review. Let me be clear - I am not a fan of the time travel genre. However, because I am a fan of family history and genealogy I accepted the invitation. The time travel aspects of this offering was a bit of a turn off for me, but that was expected from the outset. What did intrigue me was the concept that love is not limited by time. God is not limited by time. I believe these concepts to be true. I loved the way the local doctor recognized his limitations and was fully accepting of Enya's advanced skills, which were learned about 100 years in the future. I appreciated the way the 1899 community loved and supported each other. I found myself getting caught up in the story with page turning intensity. Most of all I appreciated the fact that this was a clean romance with characters of high moral fiber. In addition, although this was a Christian offering, I appreciated the fact that Christianity was mostly shown in the way the characters lived their lives rather than through sermonizing as my Christian theology is a bit different from that of the author, the doctrine of the Trinity being a case in point. For me as an American, I found some of the language differences between American and Australian English interesting and a bit intriguing. This was a great reading experience, but I still retain my lack of interest in time travel as a genre.

Beautiful and enticing cover on Amazon. (not sure why it isn't displayed here). As a history buff, always enjoy a historical based novel, especially of a different culture. Although fantasy within its theme, it remained entertaining, despite being disjointed at times in the telling. However, I especially liked how the author brought the past to the present in its conclusion, leaving the readers in a happier place. Despite Christian-based novels typically rigid in its standards and themes to those who read and review this genre, I appreciate the author's use of imagination - talents which our good Lord provided us to use and shared in our endeavors.

A clean unique romance.

This is a unique clean time travel romance. The story is set in Australia so it is a different type of story for those in the US. There are words that I was not used to but most were easy to figure out the meaning of. The characters were strong and showed a deep faith in God. Her description helped transport me back in time and gave me a good description of what the characters were experiencing. I was given an ARC book for an honest voluntary review.

This is a sweet and simple Christian romance that involves a bit of time travel. The concept of the story is fun, and although the telling of it is a little bumpy, it makes for a nice afternoon read. I liked the author's addition of medical knowledge, and feel it helped make the main character Enya more well rounded as a character. It's short and sweet, and leaves you with a pleasant feeling at the end.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
