Review: YOU MUST READ THIS STORY! This one picks right up where the first book Declan leaves off, except it’s from Zander’s point of view. Zander is home helping his brothers solve the mystery of their father’s disappearance. He’s a doctor who has been working in Nepal. He meets with his former girlfriend as he is trying to get some paperwork needed for the dairy to continue to operate. Needless to say things don’t go over very smoothly at their first encounter. But sh*t really hits the fan on their second encounter when Zander learns he has a 8 year old son that he didn’t even know existed. Through so many issues, twists and turns, Zander learns about his son and has some tough (or not so tough) decisions to make once his father is found. The brothers finally receive word from their Dad which gives them new leads, but also gives them hope that he is still alive.
The scariest part of the story is what Harvey does to ‘gain his powers’ and try to impress Zander so he won’t leave him again.
This story does end with a cliffhanger with all the questions regarding the father’s disappearance, but does end with a HEA.

Second chance romance between a sexy doctor and a woman who is determined to protect her secrets
Zander is a second chance romance between a sexy doctor and a woman who is determined to protect her secrets from the man who is devoted to his work in poorer countries and has the potential to break her heart again. I don’t want to say too much about this book to avoid spoilers but it embraces the same easy to read and well written style of other books by this author and will definitely have you wondering how things will play out.
Told from dual points of views, Zander and Alexa are very likeable characters The intense chemistry, between Zander and Alexa is clear from the moment these former lovers cross paths again (although it is a rocky start) and while time may have passed, their connection clearly hasn’t diminished. Zander is a strong character who doesn’t mess around and makes it clear what he wants from the start as secrets are revealed but is torn between his loyalties. Alexa is a feisty woman but with a vulnerability to her as she battles with all the changing circumstances she is facing alongside battling her feelings for Zander.
Zander does have a HEA for Zander and Alexa’s story, therefore, it can be read as a standalone but not all issues from the book are resolved, so just be warned and I would recommend reading the series in order to fully enjoy everything.
Overall, if you enjoy a well written second chance romance with some angst in a small town, definitely don’t hesitate to give this book a read!

3.75. The saga continues as the Blackthorne Brothers investigation their father’s disappearance. Zander, the oldest son, is known for his calm mannerism, his skills as renowned cardio-thoracic surgeon, and his aloof attitude. He is knocked down a few pegs when he runs into his former girlfriend. Alexa shocks him further with an introduction to Harvey. Zander’s life will never be the same. Zander, always the professional, handles the sudden changes in his life quite well. I think he was too hard on himself. I definitely didn’t like the defensive stance Alexa took. I never warmed up to her. She let that “Superhero” stuff get out of hand.
The secret Alexa kept is often a theme in romance novels, and it’s plot I don’t care for much. Even without liking the premise of Alexa and Zander’s relationship, I still appreciated a well told story. I enjoyed the heartwarming interactions between Zander and Harvey. There is a very tension filled scene that I wasn’t expecting. As a mother myself, I was in the edge of my seat. There was just enough drama at the Blackthorne farm to spike my interest for the upcoming books.
The secret Alexa kept is often a theme in romance novels, and it’s plot I don’t care for much. Even without liking the premise of Alexa and Zander’s relationship, I still appreciated a well told story. I enjoyed the heartwarming interactions between Zander and Harvey. There is a very tension filled scene that I wasn’t expecting. As a mother myself, I was in the edge of my seat. There was just enough drama at the Blackthorne farm to spike my interest for the upcoming books.

Holy Moly!!!! I just loved Declan and didn't think the others would be as good. I mean come on, Declan is a sweetie!!!! From reading the prequel, I really didn't like the other brothers. But man, this book was phenomenal. I loved Alexa and Harvey!!!! They were wonderful characters. I fell in love with them in a heartbeat. Zander not so much (again the prequel). But Ms. Torrey's gift of words and plot development had me softening on my opinion of him. He evolved into a great character. I was emotionally invested in this story. I teared up a few times. I couldn't put this down. One mistake, I started to late in the evening to read. I couldn't stop reading. It was a LATE night for me. The characters, dialogue and plot were fantastic. Ms. Torrey has a true gift to be able to hook the reader in and evolve characters in a way that go from dislike to lovable. I truly enjoyed this story. I hated to see this one end. But I look forward to the third book!!! Thank goodness she released them at the same time.

OMG, I thought Declan would be my favorite. Well, that was until I read Zander. I am so, so in love with Zander. He left home eight years ago to save the world, to help, treat, and save the people in struggling countries. He loves his life in Nepal, loves his career, loves the way everything is in his life. But when he comes home to Healing Springs to help his brothers in the search for their father, he finds something that turns his entire life, everything he had ever known, upside-down and makes him question everything he thought he wanted. There is so much more I’d like to say, but I don't want to give away Zander and Alexa’s breath-taking story.
This is a beautiful second chance romance filled to the brim with all the feels I look for. Add on to that, all the drama and mystery of what happened to their father. I am in love with this series and can’t wait to read about Blaze and Kaden and to finally find out about their dad! This is one series you don’t want to miss!

Life has a way of throwing u-turns at you when you least expect it. Zander is only back because of his fathers disappearance and he has made no secret of it. Well that is until. . . This author is just having a blast messing with our emotions on this read. There are so many different things going on along with some nice surprises. This is all of what we expect from a good story especially with the interwoven suspense with the missing father. I love the strong women that challenge them to be more than they thought they can be and of course second chance romances get me deep inside my heart. Can't wait for the next book.

I love second chance romances. In my opinion Zander is a little over the top intense, I guess it's the older brother syndrome. I like Zander and his intense manner, his protective side and knowing what was the right thing to do. I like Alexa her love of Harvey, the sacrifices she made and her protectiveness. The mystery of the missing father is still going on, but seemed to take a backseat to Zander and Alexa's story. Overall I enjoyed this book. Blackthorne Brothers: The Complete Collection: Books 1-4, plus prequel.

The second book is definitely way better than the first in the Blackthorne Brothers series.
It’s a fast-paced story about the ups and downs of family life and the challenges of living up to the great expectations of the son Zander never knew he had ... don’t forget he also needs to get back on the good side of said son’s mother.
It also seems the brothers are making progress in finding out what happened to their father ...
That’s a book I can recommend!

Anytime there is a precocious child in a story you know it is going to be good and this one does not disappoint! I loved Zanders story and Harvey was beyond precious. I would have loved more interaction with the brothers but it was still a great story and I am so anxious to know what happens next with their dad.

I enjoyed all these Blackthorne brothers. The characters are all believable and likeable and the interactions amongst the brothers and their gals and their stories are great. You need to read them all though because of the mystery running throughout them which is not resolved until the last book. I’m glad I got them at discount. Well done!

The second installment of the Blackthorne brothers has Zander, a doctor who practices in 3rd world countries, running smack dab into his past when he has to get some permits signed off on. And he discovers just how much he'd missed.
A wonderful continuation from the first book. We still see the other brothers, with a focus on Zander, while learning a little more about the mysterious disappearance of their father.
I had received an ARC in exchange for review, though I was a little late getting this read. But once I got going, I didn't want to stop.
